I went inside to pick it up, and when I clearly asked for four plates and cilantro and onions, the worker acted like she had no idea what I meant. She gave me cilantro and two plates and that was apparently enough, so I left without trying to explain again. I got home excited to eat and was, of course, extremely disappointed when I opened the bag and found my order completely wrong. The rice was missing and they gave me flour tortillas instead of the corn tortillas I actually ordered. I even double checked my online receipt to make sure I had not imagined it. I absolutely loooooove El pollo loco! And I typically order the 2 piece leg and thigh with Mac and cheese along with the loco salad. The creamy cilantro dressing is the absolute best and their avocado salsa plus pico de Gallo are superb. Sometimes I get the chicken tostada with beans on the side because I hate eating a soggy tostada. Last time unfortunately I got the chicken nachos combo for only five dollars but they forgot the queso and the avocado did not look fresh whatsoever. See picture provided. Also, they have fairly good tamales during the holidays and I prefer their flour tortillas over the corn ones. Have not yet tried their crunchy tacos but I heard good things about them. I was standing in front of the "online pickup" sign for 10 minutes while the following events took place: (1) the person who looked like the person in charge, made eye contact, turned around and got busy over the phone. (2) another help came up to the sign, didn't bother to ask if I needed anything, and continued to prepare somebody else's order. (3) the cashier to the right continued to help the other folks in the line waiting to place their order. I won't exactly blame person (3) but what is the point of marking a separate queue for online order pickup, and especially persons 1 and 2 who couldn't be bothered to help. Today was national burrito day. I got the buy one get one burrito for free coupon couple days ago when I got the family meal. The $20 for 10 pieces family deal was good. It came with 10 pieces of leg and thigh. Two extra large sides and 10 pieces of warm tortillas. The chicken was tasty. The spicy sauces were also very good. El pollo loco sure makes delicious chicken! The burrito though...We got the Chipotle chicken avocado burrito and ranchero burrito with shrimp. Shrimp substitute was $2.79 extra. For the BOGO burrito deal, you basically get $6.49 off the bill. The burrito was kinda sad looking because it was small. I like the sour cream and avocado in it. The chicken inside the burrito was not as good as their regular chicken. I think it might be the sauce that makes the chicken less flavorful? There was not that much chicken. The shrimp was regular size shrimp and the shrimp portion was small too. I will recommend you to stick with their regular chicken meal. Get burrito somewhere else. read more

I visited the crazy chicken for lunch and went for their double chicken salad which was not really a double chicken if you know what I mean. Anyhoo, I had it was the Creamy Cilantro dressing which rocks. The salad was good but in my opinion, they did not live up to the terms of the "double" chicken. It looked like more like a single chicken serving divided in half. The chicken itself was tasty but a tad dry. The sweet corn was nice and the Cotija cheese great, once again more of it would of been much better. I am beginning to see a reoccurring theme here. The pico de gallo was good but a little spent, and the avocado was, it was a small amount, good but they need to remember not to serve it with the brown blotches or at the very least remove them. It's not very appealing to the eye. Like I said, the dressing was great and was the best thing on the salad. I know they are trying to keep the salad at 500 calories, which probably the reason the items on the salad were not overly applied. It was time to collect, and I went for the Chicken Tostada this time around. Filled with chunks of grilled chicken, lettuce, sour cream, rice, pinto beans, and topped with pico de gallo and shredded cheese, this salad tends to fill me up (especially once I added spicy avocado salsa and extra pico de gallo from the salsa bar), and the cilantro dressing is one of my favorites. Once in a while, I'll get a 10-piece meal for the family; the chicken is pretty good (and much healthier than KFC or Popeye's), and I love their sides of Loco Salad, rice, and beans. They also give us enough flour tortillas with our orders. The service can be a bit slow at times (depending on the size of the orders before or after you), and the in-house music varies between American and Latin pop. Also, I remember when their value menu was between $1-2; now it's between $2-3 per item. And, parking sucks - I tend to park between Target and 85C and walk to the restaurant. El Pollo Loco was having a special recession promotion that was sure to attract people from miles around to line up for some free grilled chicken. I knew it was going to be a mess if I went during peak times, but it just happened to be along the way as I ran some errands. I went during lunch and ran in a line of about 60 people waiting for their free chicken. The total wait time was no more than 15 minutes but there were several extremely impatient and ungrateful people in line grumbling that they were missing free items in their order or that it was too slow, despite the fact that they had spent no money at all. Nothing irritates me more than these people feeling like they're entitled to a free lunch just for showing up. Job or not, these people need to learn some respect and it's a wonder how many of them are employable at all. To avoid the shame of not ordering anything else while claiming my free chicken, I decided to add some dessert in the form of their value menu churros. The chicken was very fresh and tender but I wasn't sure why I really needed the corn tortillas. There wasn't anything wrong with them, but I simply did not have a use for them so I enjoyed them plain. The churros were a little too oily for my taste but it may have been because they hadn't been sitting around all day. Either way, I probably wouldn't order them again. I actually quite enjoyed my chicken meal and it certainly helped that it was free.
