Well, once again we tried KFC. I was craving some crispy chicken and KFC was close. Last two times, the chicken looked old and oily as if it had been leftover from the day before. Our tummy's weren't happy that evening. Probably too much grease from reheating. This recent visit was a little better. Chicken was crispy but had no flavor. After removing the breaded skin, the chicken was good. Wish the breaded skin was less and it had more chicken . Maybe the will bring back the baked chicken version. read more

I don't eat at KFC much, now I remember why. I got a large order of cheese curds. It's was $8.97. They over cooked them all so it blasted the cheese out, others were just full of oil. It was tuesday so I also got the 8 piece dark meat for $10. I asked if they could do all thighs, and they said no problem. I got legs and thighs and no cheese, in my cheese curds. We had a terrible experience with KFC in Windsor. We've been giving KFC another chance over the last few years, but they always disappoint. The latest disappointment was this past weekend, for dinner in Windsor. We ordered the 3-piece fried chicken wing combo for takeout. The chicken was so dry and hard that it tasted like it had been sitting out since lunchtime. And their wedge fries were "wedgeless," which was another letdown. I went to grab dinner for my partner and I and it turned into a literal nightmare. From rushing me at the speaker in a rude tone to getting my order wrong multiple times. After sitting outside for 10 minutes they sent an employee, a girl with green dyed hair to take my order again. I would tell her what my order was and she would not be able to repeat back to me multiple times. Then she forgot my sauce which I asked for multiple times. I understand that mistakes happen but she was standing at my car door; I was talking to her face to face and she failed to listen to my order. On July 9, 2020, I got in line at the drive-thru at 5:14 pm. I sat in the same spot for 9 minutes, with cars lining up behind me. I texted home at 5:23 to say I'd been in line for almost 10 minutes and that the line hadn't moved yet. Finally, at 5:26, I got to the microphone and ordered an Original Recipe 12 piece meal, which includes 6 biscuits & 3 sides. The guy who took my order said they only had breasts in Extra Crispy and asked if that was okay. I said that was fine, as long as I got the breasts. (I'd been shorted in June at this very restaurant.) After another several minutes, I got to the window, paid for my order, received 2 KFC bags, and drove home. I was more than half an hour late, so this little detour through the KFC drive-thru took almost 30 minutes. And this is where the fun begins. I open the bags, and they've given me 2 sides, not 3. They did include 6 "somethings", but I wouldn't call them biscuits. Dough pucks would be more accurate. Then I open the bucket of chicken. Thigh, drumstick, drumstick, thigh, drumstick, drumstick...4 thighs and 8 drumsticks. Not a speck of white meat. I was willing to accept extra crispy instead of original recipe. I mean really...big whoop. I don't care. I just want the 3/3/3/3 (drumstick/thigh/breast/wing) pieces and 3 sides I'm paying $39.50(???) for. So I call the restaturant. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Ring. Three business days is Friday, Monday, Tuesday. Not sure how 3 days equals 4 days, but it doesn't matter anyway because THEY DIDN'T CALL ANYWAY. Not in 3 days. Or 4 days. Or 5. Or 6. Or 7. I finally called 1-800-CALLKFC again today, a week after *their* deadline for contacting me. I didn't set the date. They did. Anyway, they said they're going to have someone contact me. They just didn't say when this time. So...if someone actually does call me, they need to understand that the ONLY reason they're having to deal with this problem is because multiple people below them failed to do their jobs, one after another, after another. All the way up to them. The questions I will ask them are: Why would the restaurant offer me a substitution and then not even put it in the bucket? And short me a side while they're at it? (Simple mistake? Simple solution: refund the money I gave you for the product you didn't give me. And don't make me chase my refund up several rungs of the corporate ladder. That's ridiculous.) Why would ANY manager of ANY business leave their workplace completely unsupervised during THE SINGLE BUSIEST time of the day? Why is the crew behind the counter making the new guy answer the phone when they know there's not a single question he could answer? Why does "fast" food take half an hour, an 1/8 of a tank of gas, and cost forty bucks? Why is no one responsible for any of this? The manager's missing. The district manager is non-responsive. I like going to KFC for lunch occasionally because it's across the parking lot from where I work. The food is generally okay but the service is TERRIBLE! I only ever go thru the drive thru. They get my order wrong almost every time. Today it came to $7.34. I gave the girl $20.35. She grabbed the 20 ignoring the change. I said I gave you this so you would give me bills back. She was confused and could not make change! Then gave me my food and closed the window. I had to knock to remind her of my drink. I would truly love to give this restaurant a better rating. I mean, who wouldn't? It's KFC! But not the KFC from my childhood. Pay attention to your customers, please! 2. The quality of the food is inconsistent. To keep the customers coming back for more, keep the quality of the food high. When KFC was first around, the food was fabulous. Now the potatoes are soupy, the biscuits doughy, and the chicken...well it is mostly cut up into the unrecognizable pieces. Pay attention to the quality of the food. 3. Speed up the drive thru time. I used to work in fast food, so I know that there is an certain amount of time each car needs to be waiting in line. the ownership wants you to get. My mom and I were hungry and tired after a long morning of work. Just wanted to grab a quick meal-to-go before heading home. Foolishly chose this KFC. Firstly, we went through the drive-thru and it took FOREVER even though it was 2:30 in the afternoon and not the lunch rush. When we FINALLY got our food, we drove home and opened our boxes to realize that neither the biscuit nor cookie was included in either box. We weren't even provided napkins. The chicken was extremely dry and sparse on meat. I called the store and told them what had happened. They told me to drive back and come get the biscuits and cookies. I told them that we are already at home and didn't want to drive all the way back. They then said to come another day and they would replace it. I verified if they would replace the entire meal since we had to come back and the employee said that they would give me only two biscuits and two cookies. That's it?!?! We were expected to return on another day and just be handed two biscuits and two cookies because THEY couldn't do THEIR job. What?!?! For some reason the fries at this particular location is sooooo good! That probably means it's worse for you but I don't care! I love getting it and then dipping it in their root beer floats yummmm... great spot if you're really feeling a need for guilty junk food pleasure. My parents also always order large orders of take out fried chicken if they need lots of food in a hurry. It's good... just like every other KFC. The reason I'm giving this particular location 5 stars is b/c they used to donate root beer floats (& sometimes fries) to the Boys & Girls Club in Windsor (where I used to work). It was soooo nice and generous. Such a great treat for the kids (once in awhile since soda and ice cream isn't the best thing for kids). I just thought it was great how they wanted to be involved with the community. Little things like that is nice and good for business! I completely support this place.
