I love kung fu tea for their large amount of types of milk tea, slushies and lots more. My favorite type of milk tea is the oolong milk tea with herbal , nata jelly and bubbles. Tea houses like this is everywhere over there but no one has thought of bringing it here until now!! i am such a huge milk tea fan that i would travel just to get a good cup of milk tea. Pretty picky about my bubble tea as I've had some pretty bad ones in the past - too sweet, too much milk, stale tapioca balls, globby tapioca balls fused into a giant layer on the bottom of the cup. I decided to give Kung Fu Tea a shot based on the reviews and was I glad I did. My friend and I each ordered a tea: coconut milk tea and pineapple sunshine tea. The coconut was nice and creamy with a strong coconut flavor that wasn't overly sweet while the sunshine tea was intensely tangy and sweet with crunchy bits of pineapple on the bottom. Looking forward to coming back and trying out more flavors soon. read more

WOW! My first thought when I approached the parking lot and witnesses a line outside the business in the rain. Thoughts of what are they serving that has everyone smiling and waiting patiently for a cup of Amazing! People from all over DC., Md., Va. and around the world were in line. I've honestly never seen a venue with this kind of buzz for the various drinks on the menu. When it came to my turn to order I wanted some of everything. There's various flavors of Kung Fu Special Tea, Kung Fu Milk, Kung Fu Flavor Drink, Kung Fu Coffee, Kung Fu Slush & several Miscellaneous add on items. This has to be the next Big Thing in specialty drinks with more stores to open in the area. I choose the Kung Fu Honey Green Tea with Bubbles and immediately stop from exiting and took a seat to enjoy this cup of tea! There were so many choices and I knew I would try something else today. I was invited to play a card game with total strangers who were also enjoying all kinds of combinations of drinks. My second cup was Mango Slush and this one took me from Honey to Mango with a major kick in flavor! The staff was so helpful in making suggestions and you will find yourself overlooking any diet you may have to try a few combinations heavy on your diet. My visit went from just stopping through to see what's all the buzz to becoming a major fan! There's no question I will return to go through the list of choices and to come back to win playing cards with my new Kung Fu Crew. Big fan of Kung Fu Tea since I had a chance to try them in NYC and I am so excited that one opened here in NoVA! Conveniently located in Annandale next to H-mart, I know I will be frequenting this location. The menu is quite big -- tea? milk tea? boba? smoothie? etc -- and they carry a lot of flavors, including chai, coffee, green tea and even oolong. You can adjust the sweetness level of your boba, which is a big plus in my book - I usually go for 30% for the milk tea because Kung Fu's tapiocas are already sweetened with honey, but 50% will get you the kind of semi-sweetened milk tea you are used to drinking. The one caveat is that even though there were only 2-3 customers in the store when we visited, it took them forever to make our bubble tea... never in my life had I waited for ~15 minutes for a bubble tea, even in crowded boba shops in Manhattan. But hopefully that will change over time, as they are a newly-opened business here. read more

I don't know if my drink was an unlucky one or not but I ordered a Honey Milk Green Tea with herbal jelly and pudding. However the pudding seemed to disintegrate in my drink and was falling apart into chunks and whenever I drank the pudding it would be super mushy, it's not the consistency that the pudding usually is (I work at a different KFT location and this would never fly) so it's pretty unpleasant to drink. The taste of drink itself was good, I've never had problems with the Annandale location considering I've been here plenty of times. However, being that I work at KFT I know there are times that there's mess ups when cooking the toppings and teas so I tried giving a call to let the workers know but the calls (I called twice) were unanswered. Best boba drinks in town! Found this gem right next to Annandale HMart. They have a wide selection of flavors, the boba texture is always perfectly chewy, and it's soooo good on a warm day! It's alright, there could be more seating. The staffers are incredibly friendly and and the atmosphere is nice. The location is perfect for high school kids that go to Annandale HS as it's so close which makes it really busy when school lets out. The lines during the weekends are long. Ordering isn't too diffcult. The majority of the low stars go to the cost and taste of the overall drinks. I usually order the Mango snow (would recommend) and the Oreo Kung Fu Tea (a little bit strange on the texture but the taste definately makes up for it). The drinks are a definite "I can make this better at home" for a lot cheaper which justifies me giving them a 3/5. They make pretty decent tapioca bubbles compared to other bubble tea places, although I'm not a huge fan (won't be penalizing for that). I enjoy the wide variety of options and really appreciate them advertising their specials making it easy for first time goers. read more

I am rating this a 5 star because these days it is hard to find a place that does bubble tea like this. Any person that has had the real stuff knows the difference. You would be surprised how many shops can't even get the boba right. You can customize your drink to contain more or less ice and sugar to tailor different palettes. We went there when it first opened and the lines were not too bad. Nowadays, whenever you go, the line seems to be wrapped around the store at all times. But it is worth the wait!
