I have walked by the stand many times, but I never saw customers here so I always avoided ordering anything. However I finally decided to stop and check out their drinks. I made the mistake of ordering the Sweet Cloud Cold Brew. It was just too milky, I went back and asked if they can add more coffee...and still to milky. When I went back a second time for them to add more coffee and take out the milk, the guy said absolutely not. I ended up just throwing the drink away because I didn't feel like drinking milky coffee. Would I return? Maybe....I guess can try another drink? read more

Rolling in around 7pm on a Sunday evening, this place was sparsely populated by a much younger demographic of patrons who periodically streamed in as we waited for our drink. We ordered a Mango & Passionfruit Tea w/ Honey Boba. The boba topping addition was $0.75, which seemed rather pricey given the locale. The drink itself was not particular fresh nor good, and the boba balls were regrettably firm to chew. The interior was very nicely designed, and service was friendly. There are several tables available for indoor dining. And free parking in the big, private lot outside is plentiful. read more

DRINKS I ordered their milk tea with 50% sugar and boba. It was standard but nothing special. It's a good fix if you need one nearby, but nothing I'd go out of my way for. FOOD They offer a variety of waffles and other desserts, but I didn't get any this time around. SERVICE The staff and kind and friendly. AMBIANCE There are some tables inside where people caught up with friends or sat down to finish some work. The music was a little on the louder end, so it was difficult to talk to friends who sat in front of or beside me. We don't know where the waffle part was because it was just a croissant... Is that what a croffle is? Didn't expect to be disappointed but I was. The location is fine and I thought the ramen and macaron options looked good. We just got two teas and I found them to be bland and very watered down. The boba was alright but didn't have a lot of flavor. I tend to get as little sugar as I can because bubble teas can be overly sweet in my opinion, but this may have been the downfall here. I wandered in here one day while my boyfriend was getting some errands done at the local T-Mobile store. I didn't know this place existed until I wandered down the block walking the dog. It was a pretty warm Saturday morning (this was back in the summer) so I figured it would be a good a time as ever to get my tea fix! The store was empty except one other party so I was able to quickly order and get my drink. I ordered a taro milk tea with lychee jelly and it came out to a little under $5. The drink wasn't really anything special (I really do love any and all taro milk tea for the most part) but it hit the spot regardless. I enjoyed the atmosphere as the shop was cutely decorated with ample seating so my boyfriend, dog, and I could sit in a corner and not be bothered. I was highly impressed with that because I hate public restrooms but could not wait! I ordered my favorite: Jasmine Green Tea w/Honey Pearls. The was good but the Pearls didn't taste "fresh" if that makes sense. And the texture didn't work for me. And I believe the honey was nonexistent. I like my pearls to have a soft chewy consistency. It's been about a week since I've had boba, so I figured I probably should get my fill soon and looking around Fairfax, saw this place. Lotta different teas but the tea is on the weak side for me personally. The house milk tea doesn't taste particularly like earl grey, which has that bergamot taste going for it that I like. I love this place! This location is certainly better than the centreville one, which doesn't have the rolled ice cream or some of the drink options that are available here. The lady that owns(?) this location is very sweet. They have lots of snacks available for purchase, from cup noodles to macaroons to cupcakes. This place certainly gives Kung Fu Tea a run for their money. The added bonus of KoKee Tea is, as I mentioned, their rolled ice cream! I personally am a fan of vanilla (choice of vanilla or chocolate) with Oreo and Nutella (2 base toppings), topped with fruity pebbles and sliced almond (2 more toppings) with strawberry drizzle (out of chocolate, caramel, strawberry, or condensed milk). I like their Oreo milk tea here. It's not as gritty/chunky as KFT's, but that's personal preference. There's also outdoor seating and a few tables and chairs indoors where you can do some work. There's one single occupancy bathroom here. They offer 20% off everything for "happy hour," which is 8pm to close every day. read more

We've been waiting forever for this location to open. It's by the Potbellys in the Fair City Mall shopping center. The place is clean and I'm not sure if a portion is still under construction (like maybe the ice cream for the future?). We came for the tea. I had the peach on peach (it has juice poppers) and hubby got the lychee on lychee. We're both pretty happy with the teas. We've been to the other Kokee Teas in Fair Oaks and Centreville. It's a bit small inside so when it's busy you probably can't hang out for long. We were the only customers though on a chilly night so no issues there. read more

Never heard of this place before going to Virginia but the bubble tea here was great! Really recommend trying the Rose from San Francisco and Mango Passionfruit. I think the only popping boba they have available is peach and it is better/more refreshing than the crystal boba or aloe Vera. As an aside their loose leaf tea is surprisingly good too! I want to start with how I always have been skeptical that Kokee tea is a wannabe boba shop located at malls, but today, I tried the Kokee tea in Fair City Mall, and it was quite alright. Although I am not a huge boba connoisseur, the tea tasted like any tea you could get at KFT, TeaDM, or Sharetea. I got the matcha green tea, a classic, and it was enjoyable. The boba had a sweet taste, and was the right about of chewiness for me (like baby bear, just right :)). One thing that surprised me was that this boba shop also sold ramen and other sit down meals that were brought to your table upon order. I thought that was a unique twist to a boba shop. The indoor aesthetic was very cutesy and asian compared to their neighboring store counterparts, which I really appreciated! The decor was nice, from the wooden panels on the wall, to the kpop posters, to the boba mural wall, and the wooden display at the entrance that held board games, everything tied together well to make it a comfortable and enjoyable place to relax and hang with friends. Like the marketing on the cup, the store is a "hug in a cup," very comfortable and welcoming for sure! The store had good energy and welcoming vibes which I appreciated and I think despite my previous skepticisms, I wouldn't mind returning for more boba and nice company. read more

Was shocked at the taste and attitude of the worker. We ordered 3 fruit teas and 1 milk tea. The fruit tea was extremely astringent, as if they brewed the tea for too long. When i complained to the worker, she said it was the way it was and refused to do anything. But tea shouldn't be that bitter and astringent, especially for a fruit tea. Ended up dumping the mango tea, and half of the green grape tea because it gave me a stomachache. Very disappointed. The grape tea has little green chemical looking substance in it. You got your milk teas, slushies and smoothies. All with your choice of with or without boba and also your desired sweetness level. But aside from just drinks, they also have macaroons, rolled ice cream, sliced cakes, ramen.......Yes. They also have ramen. I came here only for the boba but now I have a reason to come back simply cause of my intrigue to try their ramen. And speaking of boba, my little one ordered a mango smoothie with boba at 50% sweetness. The flavor of the mango was good and the sweetness was what we wanted but the boba tasted a bit on the tougher side. Kokee tea is cute and offers a "happy hour" to give a small discount on their drinks in the afternoon. They have an extensive list of bubble tea drinks, some with cute, clever names. They also sell macaroons every color of the rainbow! The lychee rose boba was great for a few sips, but then it was too sweet. I prefer the matcha one with 50 % sweetness. Most drinks run pretty sweet, and it is an option to scale it back. I'm old school and I like the honey boba, but they have other options too. My husband ordered honeydew but it looked a little radioactive. The store has cute decor and artwork and a few tables to sit at. I got a cup of mango passion fruit and didn't even take a sip out of it, as I pick up the cup it wasn't noticeable at first but there was a puncture in the cup. Sometimes the bubbles can be either undercooked or over cooked which makes for an odd consistency- the bubbles here are pretty good. The tea was slightly too sweet but I don't think I asked them to make it less sweet so next time I'll try asking it for it lightly sweetened.
