Khaki is newish Indian fine dining restaurant, though I'll probably put it between casual and fine dining. We went there at around 6:45pm on a Friday evening. The place was already half full. There signature cocktail and Champaran meat were good but nothing to write home about. Their Lamb Bihari Kabab was very good and their rotis were excellent. By 7:30pm the place were full and the staff were running around serving customer. From that time onwards, the quality of service started to go down. I felt that they had way less staff then needed for a busy restaurant like Khaki. For the price I expect more prompt service. read more

As a Californian I was late to my love of Indian food. This place brings both locations together in such a beautiful way and it's my new favorite spot. Jacob (I think was his name, from Michigan) gave absolutely amazing and charming service. The SWEET POTATO & PATTA CHAT and ZUCCHINI AND RICOTTA KOFTA were quick favorites and their BUTTER CHICKEN is everything you want it to be. I do wish they would turn down the lighting as it's not conducive to a date night, it is like an operating room in there, but that's the least of my worries there. (Curry Up Now had the same problem) Liquor selection and cocktails were right on. Surprised this place is doing so well right at the start. We'll be back soon. read more

This is definitely a 5-star place, but the sever/waitress that was assisting us really brought the whole experience down a star. Everyone knew the assignment but her; giving a great Michelin star quality service, but you have someone with probably a lot of sever experience in chain restaurants bringing it all down. Just a few more critiques then I'll move on. Very open concept so you see everyone working, she was literally just going around talking to everyone of her co-workers. She came around a few times to check up on us, but once we finished eating we were invisible. Another sever came by and said they would get her over. (He was great btw, even just filling water glasses) Also probably not the best to tell customers you don't know what the food you're serving looks like. Came with the bf at 6PM with a reseavtion on a Friday. Not really busy so not sure why having a reservation was strongly suggested. We got the dahi puri, parsi chicken keema, chicken butter masala, zucchini and ricotta kofta and the garlic naan. YUM!! Everything was amazing. The dahi puri was really good. I've gotten pani puri before from a hole in the wall restaurant and it wasn't for me. So very happy we their preparation. The yougrt and raspberry on it was amazing, tart and sweet. Yum, the chicken keema was hella good too. It was a delicious homey ragu with a kick and I loved the bread it came with. The butter chicken was really good too. It's the bf's go to item. The chicken was moist and the masala was great. Yum, the kofta was the show stopper. I have never had kofta before, but it sounded delicious and man that crunch on the kofta! I don't know what was in the gravy, but it was heavenly I could have just eaten that and been satisfied. I felt jipped on the naan. It was like one whole naan cut into fours. I was hoping to try their desserts (if they had some) but our sever just took so long to get back to us, we probably would have just said no. Located in the Bishop Ranch City Center. There is free garage parking. On the pricer side, but I think 90% worth it. I do feel like with these dishes, plain rice should just always accompany them free on charge and/or option of unlimited naan. But I get they wanna be fancy with it. Definitely a great place to try and put in the go to bank. The bf wasn't into it but we'll see; I definitely wanna go back. read more

SERVICE Had dinner today and I must say it was a 10/10. Phenomenal service and delicious food. I highly recommend! We had a lovely welcome, as we were welcomed with open doors as we walked in and as we walked out. We didn't have to ask for anything (e.g water refill, clearing the table (removing finished plates), and changing out our plates and utensils for new ones for our upcoming meals after our appetizers, going as far as opening our doors, it's like they read our minds, which I absolutely LOVED! They were also so nice and professional! My new favorite restaurant at the lot! FOOD We had Dak Bungalow Chicken which was okay, but the butter chicken was absolutely delicious, we ordered garlic naan and basmati rice. Shoutout to the chef! We also had Parsi Chicken Keema for appetizers and it was wonderful. Presentation was beautiful. Spice level was just right. The flavors were absolutely delicious. OVERALL The place looked amazing. Fancy, elegant, and clean. The service, food, professionalism, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant went above and beyond our expectations. 10/10. read more

What an amazing place, with an absolutely amazing staff to compliment . We went without reservations and since we were there @6.30pm we did manage to get a table. The managers Amar and Anuj were hospitable and moved us to a table of our choice, we tried the Avocado edamame bhel & sweet potato Papdi chaat, which were yummmm, the drinks - khaki 2601, Sept 26, 1949 and A night in a 2BHK were amazing as well (As interesting as their names ) I made it a point to meet - Chef Krishna, one of the most humble chefs I have met recently. He recommended the fish (branzino) with coconut rice and boy that was absolutely wonderful. Our server - William was very polite and pretty knowledgeable too about the Menu. I tried the Sharbat too which interesting as well as refreshing.. Highly recommend it and will definitely visit again with some more friends and family... read more

I've eaten at a number of Indian places but this one takes the cake for taste. The food was exceptional and the drinks were great. Their prawn Koliwada and Mangalorean Beef Sukka are the standouts for sure. They're still working out the kinks on service a bit but the menu is a home run. The bar tender was talking more to people than making drinks. His idea of a Indian gin and tonic - add bunch of whole coriander and pepper seeds in the drink. They had a passion fruit pani puri which is an abomination. A sweet thick water with avocado filled puri - grosssss The other food was good, but nothing that was worth the wait The sticky toffee pudding was not even remotely sticky. My favorite menu items were the rich and creamy Butter Chicken, the Andhra Chili Chicken, and the Chili Cheese Naan which was delicious. Service was great as well, all the servers were quick and attentive, and the owner of the restaurant as well as the Chef are very present and go around to each table to ask about their experience, which gives a very personal and unique vibe, since a lot of restaurant owners/chefs do not do that. read more

Let's start off with the important ones - food and service. Both were exceptional. Service - I personally loved that everyone was dressed well. The staff that took our order was dressed in a simple clean suit. Nice. This was a good start to the evening. Our guy (sorry, missed this name, but white guy) was wonderfully polite and efficient. The waiters were also properly dressed. This shows that the management cares about their impression and appearance. Nice. Food - delicious. Kheema was very good. Naan (esp garlic) as delicious. OK, so why only 4 stars? The cost! For 5 of us, the cost was almost $300!! We did not eat a huge amount. So, yes, I was surprised by the cost. I would have expected this at an upscale place, not a restaurant in a mall. Either way, great place. Just watch your bill as you order! read more

The food quality was very meh, servers are nice but the service was horrible! The place doesn't deserve the premium that they charge. We ordered Paneer Tikka - which was served without any serving utensils. We tried to get servers attention for a long time before someone came. For Main entrees, we ordered Paneer Pinwheel which had two pieces in a lot of heavy gravy and a Gobhi dish which was okay. Veg Biryani for $30 was the worst item with small-sized jasmine rice (broken) used - nothing but just fried rice. Khaki is a beautiful spot! If you're looking for a place for photos and a great atmosphere, this is it. The presentation of the food is amazing and everything looked and tasted very fresh. However, the flavors were a bit underwhelming/average compared to the high-end vibe of the restaurant. We spent $250 for 6 people, which is very reasonable.
