Prepare to have the spice of your life! The samosa is a fantastic starter. It's filled with chicken and many secret ingredients. The garlic naan is great for dipping in the chicken tikka masala butter sauce. Although most of the chicken chunks are drowned in the butter sauce, there's still plenty to serve 1-2 people. Thr tandoori chicken goes well with mint cilantro chutney sauce. This green sauce may have an awkward color, but it gives the perfect kick to this bone- in chicken plate. There's plenty of seating if you decide to dine in. Keep the water handy as you'll definitely need it to wash down the spices!

It was Saturday lunch time and they had buffet going on - and the selection was pretty good. I confirmed with the nice owner that none of the dishes had tree nuts except almond in the dessert and we got to eating. Couple highlights include: Vegetable Pakora - crispy and full of good veggie bites, it was not too greasy and my son was fascinated by how delicious it was to eat. Tandoori Chicken - This was surprising because most places the tandoori chicken is a bit dry, but this one was flavorful and succulent. Their garlic nans, which we ordered separately, were fluffy, chewy, flavorful and just a joy to eat all of the food with - we enjoyed their various veggie dishes with the nans and washed it all down with their almond dessert, which my son had a sip or two and did not have any allergic reactions. The price was a bit steeper than I expected (I did not check price carefully), so most likely won't be coming regularly, but it's a great choice when you really want to eat-eat, esp. with a hungry teenager. We'll be back again.

My friend and I both ordered the chicken tikka Marsala ( level 3/6 spicy ). If you're a spicy fan I would recommend going up to 4+. The 3 was very mild to me. We also ordered some garlic naan and the onion stuffed flatbread (forgot the exact name) Before we left, a musician was setting up to play some live guitar. Which I thought was cool. All in all the food was delicious and the service was good. I would definitely dine here again in the future

Which I don't mind at all. I had to wait today for the tandoori chicken. I can say it was worth it. Hot, juicy just the right amount of char. Saag paneer , one of my favorite Indian dishes was just wonderful! They had a wide variety of pakora. Potato, jalapeño, & some I could not identify, but were crispy & fried perfectly. All of the dishes were perfectly prepared. Large variety of veg & non veg options . Wait staff were friendly & attentive. The restaurant is nicely decorated. Moroccan style hanging lamps that I really love. ( king tut in Somerville has the same lamps. LOL) This is on my , " Let's go there for lunch " list!

They were a little on the small side though. Mutter Paneer - 10/10 well balanced and not too heavy. Sometimes the paneer is too tough but this restaurant made it perfectly. Sauce wasn't too thick either. Veg Manchurian with gravy - 9/10 very good. Definitely the best veg manchurian I have had in NJ Butter Naan - 10/10 excellent, light and fluffy with the perfect amount of butter Rice Kheer - 10/10 not too sweet. Rice was cooked perfectly and it wasn't overly sweet like it is in other places. They also serve theirs same with fresh pistachios on top. Goat Biryani - 5/10 the meat was excellent but the rice was meh. Wouldn't order it again After our meal they brought us Gulab Jamun Creme Brûlée complements of the chef, which was a great surprise. Not a combination I would have ever thought of but it works! It was delicious and light I had came here previously with my mom and was pleasantly surprised to find that they also had several creative vegan option as well. This time we were all meat eaters tho so we didn't have any of the vegan dishes. Price are normal for Indian food in this area. Service is also normal.

This is the new location of Bayleaf Grill, originally located in Highland Park that had amazing Indian food. We have ordered from you and goes out of our way to drive to Somerset even though now we are no longer in the HP area. The food is amazing - the aroma of the curry and everything about it is great but the portions are small, there's a lack of accompaniments like rice and naan are all extra charges. Which is okay but when you pay $16 for an entree you do expect to get a relatively full meal. My main issue with this place and the reason I will no longer order from here anymore is the timing of the orders. We have ordered a few times for pickup and each time they say 20mins... but usually after we arrive we wait an additional 30 minutes. Last time, my fiancee left and waited an additional 40 minutes before he picked up. That's practically 1.5hrs before we even got our food between driving there and back. I really love the food from here and I can't comment on the dinning service inside the restaurants (it does look nice) - but between the additional waiting time, higher prices (lack of accompaniment - rice / naan in their entrees) / smaller portions in comparison to others in the area, and just being overall further from where we are now. We won't be coming back.

We're allium-free vegetarians and had been meaning to try more Indian restaurants but the sheer…read moreamount of "pure veg" Indian restaurants within the same square mile was both awesome and daunting. We're still looking around for our go-to Indian restaurant in the area as our kids love saag/palak paneer and we used to go at least once a month where we moved from. But we finally made it! We came here on a Monday that also fell on a holiday so they had a steady amount of customers. We were the only non-Indian customers, which appears to be normal. They're located in a small strip along with 2 or 3 other businesses. Shared parking is behind the building so most people entered through the back door. It was about half full when we got there so I can see it filling up fast during crowded times. Walk through because no one is at the back but there is a small clothing rack to hang coats; the counter is at the front by the front door. We made ourselves known and were promptly seated. They serve vegetarian food and many are Swaminarayan-friendly (allium-free, which appears to be their default mode), certain can be made Jain as well! They do use alliums but overall, they seem to be able to make most of the dishes without alliums. We ordered the following, Swaminarayan-style and mild because one of my kids can do but mild food: DAHI PURI: I usually get pani puri but decided to try it out since it's been a while since I had this. It came out first as the appetizer, was a thing of beauty, and there are A LOT of flavors in there. The sweet-leaning yogurt, sev with its textural differences, the freshness of the cilantro, the spiced potatoes, the tart pomegranate seeds... My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed it. PALAK PANEER: This was ordered for my kids. Green gravy with tender paneer. They liked it! The curry got a little too spicy but it didn't hit them until later. My kid with the food allergies ate all the paneer when the gravy grew too spicy for him. MALAI KOFTA: This is different from the malai kofta I've had before but not in a bad way. I definitely think they use cashew "cream" in this. It's lightly sweet in a way that reminds me of cashews. The kofta are soft and I'm pretty sure are paneer based. This is probably the most mild curry we ordered, both in terms of spice and spices. This was my pick because I usually can't order malai kofta at Indian restaurants so I was pleased I could hear. MATAR METHI MALAI: I love how Indian curries are so straightforward when it comes to names. I'm not sure what to expect with this but my husband didn't know what to get so I nudged him towards this. He wanted MATAR PANEER but it's not on the menu. This is essentially fenugreek pea curry in a milky gravy. It has very interesting spices and flavor. A little more bland than the others, yet not at the same time. Must be that fenugreek! For some odd reason, it reminded me of coconut chutney I've had before. We also got ROTI for one of my kids who prefers bread over rice. All curries come with white basmati. For drinks, we got MANGO LASSI, SPRITE, and CHAAS (buttermilk). The buttermilk was different! Much more spiced than I expected. I also swear at one point I tasted a raw onion bit but it only happened once so who knows if it was mistaken blended in or it was all in my head. I do remember it was STRONG though. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised at the sheer amount of choices we had. Our bill totaled to around $90 (curries are around $20, Dahi puri was $12) and we brought home some leftovers. They seem to be family run and are fairly nice and helpful. We would likely go back again to try more things, but the palak paneer isn't completely up our kids' alley to become their favorite. If you have food allergies, let them know. My youngest has multiple food allergies including to nuts and wheat. Most of their curries contains nuts EXCEPT for the palak paneer and their bhindi (okra) dish. Luckily for my kid. Despite how nuts are a common ingredient in the kitchen, my kid was completely fine during and after eating. Note: their menu says they charge gratuity for parties of 4 people or more. My husband says he didn't see it on the bill when it was time to pay. Not sure if that statement is now outdated or it only counts if there are 4+ ADULTS.

4-Star Review - Delhi Garden, NJ…read more Tried Delhi Garden recently on a friend's recommendation. It's a bit out of the way from the central Edison area, but worth a visit every now and then. I saw some solid reviews online and decided to check it out. Service was good . Atmosphere not that great . Overall, I was leaning toward a 3-star rating, but a few standout dishes pushed it to a 4. The aloo cutlet with chole was the star of the show--super authentic and flavorful. The paneer tikka and paneer masala also hit the mark taste-wise, though I wish they had packed a bit more spice. The paneer tandoor came in a generous portion, but again, it could've used more flavor. The biryani was just average. One common theme--everything was low on spice, and the small container of spicy sauce they give barely lasted a few bites. It's a takeout-only spot, so no dine-in tables, and the parking area is small but manageable. Price-wise, it felt fair for the portion sizes. Not perfect, but worth trying if you're in the mood for North Indian flavors and don't mind customizing the spice at home!
