Fred and I stopped in after shopping on hawthorn, and this Thai restaurant smelled irresistible! The Thai iced teas were so tasty! Helps with digestion Fs! The portions were huge! And so so so delicious! We felt like our feet stuck to the floor it was so good we didn't wanna leave! Fred and I will be returning to this quiet piece of heaven! 10/10 would recommend!

Definitely one of the best Thai restaurants in Portland! Super friendly and attentive service, food is fresh and delicious, vegan/vegetarian friendly, great lunch special deals, and our experience has been consistent across our three visits. I highly suggest checking this place out!

Yellow curry and iced Thai tea

Stopped here for lunch today and made it in time to order off their discounted lunch menu. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken and an iced Thai tea. The Thai tea was large and lasted me the whole meal. The yellow curry came out quickly and was so flavorful and delicious! The spice level was perfect, not too spicy to lose out on the enjoyable flavor. The chicken was cooked very well, not overcooked or dry at all. I chose to come here when I saw they have a large window and the beautiful day outside really lit up the inside of the restaurant. It was a very pleasant and quiet atmosphere.

    So much food!

Great Thai spot, friendly folx, good prices. And the boy learned how to use chopsticks! He ordered more food than he intended, but made a game attempt at it. They take you seriously when you ask for spicy, and I always appreciate that. Some fun decor, too!

Nicely varied seating, from simple stools to comfy chairs with a view of the street

White & Green is a delightful, casual neighborhood spot. Perfect for the stretch of Hawthorne where it is located. You order at the counter, and they have self service water, tea, and a nice variety of hot oils to add to your meal. The kitchen has a deft, subtle hand with the spices, which I found wonderful. The one bite that stays with me most was the flavor of green onion - this is a place where you can really taste the ingredients, rather than having them masked by sauces. You can visit the hot oil bar to decide how much you'd like to add to the seasoning, but I suggest you try the dishes as they come from the kitchen, before deciding on how much (if any) additional seasoning you may want. The tea was deceptively light in color - like everything else I tried here, there was lots of flavor despite initial appearances.

The best Thai food I've had in a long time and the staff is really really nice. Their pad Thai is PERFECT. the place is clean and comfortable also.

My friend recommended this restaurant to me and this was fantastisc. We ordered two plates: Pad thai with crispy pork belly and Thai Tomyum soup because I'm craving for a hot soup during the rainny day. Taste: good to excellent, I love cripy pork belly, so crunchy and tasty. The tomyum soup was not quite there yet. Service: fantastic, they even offer a hand sanitizer for us Location: maybe hard to find a parking during rush hour. I will definitely to come back here again and recommend to my friends and family as well

Delightful! Smallish plates for Happy hour were well priced, seasoned nicely and came out quickly- what's not to like? Had happy hour menu and a noodle soup that I came for - the YenTa Fo which you don't often see on a Thai menu - delicious/ and had the white fungus I love( picture is half eaten as we were hungry)... the Yum woon sen ( tossed glass noodles with shrimp) was also a favorite- we ordered two servings. Crispy stuffed crab roll was really good too and hit the spot- I think we found a new favorite for small plates, speciality Thai noodles - fried rice plates looked really good Returned tonight and they are as good as ever- had the Yum woon sen ( still delicious) and tried the bbq pork egg noodles - so awesome - highly recommend- note that we went off a door dash menu but called directly to order for pickup and saved $22 ( still tipped)!!!!

Since we had our dog with us, we ordered everything to go and enjoyed it back at our hotel just down the street. Just a heads up if you're planning the same, there wasn't any outdoor dining available. Being from the SF Bay Area, one of the first things we looked for was Har Gow and Siu Mai, but they weren't labeled the way we're used to. After asking, we found out the Crystal Shrimp Dumplings are their Har Gow, and the Shrimp Siu Mai contains pork, which was exactly what we were looking for. We ordered two of each. We also ordered two Beef Chow Fun, Combination Fried Rice, Eggplant with Minced Pork, Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs, and three pear sodas. The dim sum absolutely hit the spot. The Har Gow and Siu Mai were well seasoned, nicely prepared, and exactly what we had been craving. The Beef Chow Fun was another winner. We were glad we ordered two because we found ourselves reaching for it more than the fried rice. The Eggplant with Minced Pork was also delicious. The eggplant was cooked perfectly -- tender without becoming mushy -- and the seasoning was right on point. I'm also glad we changed our order from the House Special Spare Ribs to the Sweet & Sour Spare Ribs. Unlike many versions, these weren't battered and fried, so the pork maintained a great texture while still being coated in a flavorful sweet and sour sauce. One unexpected favorite was the pear soda. It's made with Asian pear, so the flavor is much lighter and more refreshing than the sweeter pear sodas we're used to. The only hiccup? They're bottled with a traditional cap, and since we were staying in a hotel, we quickly realized we didn't have a bottle opener. Let's just say we got a little creative. One thing I really appreciated was that the staff noticed our large takeout order and packed it thoughtfully. They included six extra takeout containers, plenty of forks, chopsticks, and napkins, which ended up being incredibly helpful since we were eating in a hotel room with no paper plates or utensils. It's a small gesture, but one that definitely didn't go unnoticed. Overall, we were really happy with our meal. This place lived up to being on my bookmark list for over a year, and I'd happily come back the next time we're staying in downtown Portland.

The portions were beyond generous, and each meal had nothing lacking. The meat in both dishes was tender and juicy, the noodles were cooked perfectly, soft but with a chew, and everything came out fast! Crispy but nice on the inside, and whatever the sauce was that came with it is something I will continue to think about weekly. We were on vacation from the east coast and wish we found this place sooner in the trip. The restaurant is tiny and is all self serve, but the gentleman who brought out our dishes was very kind.
