I've been here twice. Both times have been great! The first time I decided to keep trying to find a Thai restaurant that wasn't Cuban-inspired or a watered down Thai. So so glad I pushed myself to come here! First time I got the Khaosan noodle bowl- delicious! Next time- I convinced my office to order out. We door dashed and out of 4 orders- mine wasn't included. Still, everyone LOVED their food!! Two ordered the chicharrone dish, the other ordered a curry. No pics. I had family visiting from California and wanted to take my cousin to Thai since she's never had it before. She ordered the fried snapper with ginger sauce ands tom yum soup. I stumbled upon this place while walking through Giralda Plaza, and I'm so glad I did! I loved the unique concept of sitting on the floor with your shoes off, it made for a fun and relaxing dining experience. The floor cushions also had a back rest ! So it was super comfortable . The food was the real highlight, though. We ordered the Panang curry and the Pad Thai, and both were packed with flavor. The portions were generous, and the quality of the meat was excellent. Hands down one of the most delicious places I've ever been to -- how did I not know this existed?! Honestly, I almost didn't post this because I selfishly wanted to gatekeep it... it's that good. I'd hate for it to get so packed I can't even get a seat! The service was quick and attentive, which made the whole experience even better. I tried the crispy crab wontons -- absolutely crunchy and flavorful -- and the steamed gyoza was perfectly tasty and satisfying. I went on a rainy Friday and the warm soup hit the spot -- it was everything I needed and more. The bok choy was so fresh and flavorful, and the meat was incredibly tender. Everything was just on point. They offer a variety of different Asian cuisines, and I'm already planning my next visit to try more. Been craving some Thai and decided to give Khaosan Road a try. Located in Coral Gables, parking is mostly metered or in a garage parking lot. The restaurant is on an enclosed road which street vendors setup booths and sell their items outside. So it's a nice prelude to your dining experience. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. But given the crowd outside we opted for the more quiet option. Staff is friendly and even though we came close to closing we never felt rushed. Had to start with the Thai Iced Tea which was so refreshing. I had to self moderate myself from gulping it down. For apps we went with the Papaya Salad and the Crab Wontons. Both were solid. But I could eat Papaya Salad all day. Again very refreshing with just the right amount of kick. For mains we went with Duck Basil and the Beef Gratium PrigTai Garlic. Of the two the Duck Basil was my favorite. It was my first time trying it and I literally was craving it the next day. The Duck was super tender yet crispy skin. The sauce was so delicious. Mouth is watering just thinking about it again. We ended the evening with the obligatory Thai Donuts. We did have an issue with them not being fully cooked but the staff were quick to correct the issue. Overall glad to add Khaosan Road to my local favorite for Thai. Came here for lunch and we were seated in a small room on the side. I have to say this space is loud!!! I had trouble hearing my co-worker across the table. I ordered the BBQ noodle soup and it was pretty tasty. On the menu it states that it has roasted garlic but I could not taste it at all. The pork i found to be a bit dry. The star in this dish were the were the dumplings. I could have just had a bowl of those. The filling was delicious and the wrapper was thin. Absolute perfection! read more

It is an easy place to return to, and for us, it has become exactly that. We usually keep it simple here. One appetizer, two mains, shared. That rhythm works, and this kitchen rewards restraint. The E sarn sausage is often our starting point. It is not the easiest dish to eat. The bites are big, a little chaotic, and require some commitment. But the payoff is real. Tangy pork, lime, ginger, peanuts, heat, all colliding into something deeply savory. Pure umami. Messy in the right way. Over time, a few dishes have earned permanent status for us. The duck noodle soup is one of them. Clean, grounding, and quietly comforting, especially on cooler days. The duck curry brings richness without heaviness, while the duck basil delivers heat, aroma, and clarity. The pad woon sen is another favorite, glass noodles cooked with restraint and confidence, never sloppy. We usually drink beer here, and it always fits. That said, the wine list is simple and fairly priced. Half the year, we sit outside, soaking in the plaza when the weather behaves. During the hotter months, we move indoors, low tables, cushions, air conditioning, and a slower pace. Both spaces feel intentional, not decorative. Service has always been solid for us. Straightforward, grounded, not overly friendly, not stiff. Balanced. You are taken care of without being hovered over. This is not a restaurant chasing trends or trying to impress. You'll have a hard time deciding whether to eat inside or outside at Khaosan Road (unless it's raining, of course!)- it's located in the lovely square area of Giralda Plaza with a beautiful outdoor patio, but inside also has a gorgeous Thai aesthetic with beautiful wood and cushion in a relaxed southeast Asian vibe. I had embarrassingly only ordered takeout from them until last week when I finally had the chance to visit their physical location and so glad I finally did since the space is so beautiful and inviting. Beyond the vibes, the food of course is the main reason to come. This is some of the best Thai food in Miami. Pad see ew is my go-to and they make an amazing one here, saucy and flavorful with the noodles cooked just right. The definition of a true hidden gem, hole in the wall, sleeper hit... all of the above. The duck basil is to die for. I have a very slim list of dishes I find myself dreaming about on the regular and this is one of them. The duck is perfectly cooked & crisped. Plus, the sauce & seasonings on it are immaculate - mostly sweet with a hint of spice. Getting a bite of the duck with the vegetables and steamed rice is pure heaven in your mouth. Honestly, writing about it right now makes me want to drive back down to Miami just to get this dish again. Oh, and the staff members are incredibly sweet. The restaurant itself feels very authentic too. Some of the tables even let you sit on the floor to eat your food in the traditional Thai style. Came here for a friend's birthday. She and another friend had come here before and were big fans. It was a Saturday night and other than one other woman, we were the only people in the place. Not sure if it's more of a takeout spot but more people should dine in! The food is so authentic and the service is great. We ordered several dishes for sharing: the duck basil (absolutely divine!), pad Thai with tofu (on the dry side for me, personally), khao soi (this dish is only found in the north in Thailand, which I guess is why so few restaurants have it on the menu, but it's SO good! These guys do a good job of making sure it's more coconut milk based than Thai red curry based, giving it the perfect desired sweetness that makes this dish so special), papaya salad (yum!), chicken skewers (also yum), Tom Yum noodle soup (definitely not a fan but my friends who ordered it are fans of the sour/spicy combo), and Thai donuts (SO pillowy and fluffy - these melt in your mouth and are truly some of the best I've had anywhere). Take a break from the usual bougey spots you usually dine at in the Gables and give this place a try - you won't regret it. read more

How has this place slid under my radar?!?!? I wasn't feeling great yesterday & all I wanted was a Chinese Vegetable Soup. Unfortunately, it's apparently not as available &/or popular as I thought. While looking for alternatives, I landed on Khaosan Road. The menu sounded SO delicious it was hard to decide. I went with the CRAB WONTON (fantastically light & delicate version of Krab Rangoon) , the SOM TUM (Thai Papaya Salad) & the TOM KHA GAI (Coconut Milk Chicken Soup). Everything BLEW MY MIND! Now occupying the old Bangkok Bangkok location this place kept some of the old dishes as name to capitalize on the reputation. They also updated the decor of the interior keeping the large area where you can sit in the floor. They have added some dishes based on Thai street food and those are where they shine. My favorite is a pork belly dish that is just amazing. The pork chunks are crispy and delicious cooked in an excellent sauce. Super authentic Thai food in a cute part of Coral Gables. My go-to Thai food is the Pad See Ew which I always get with tofu. This is one of favs in Miami! Sidenote- I spent 5 months in Thailand studying abroad during college. We also tried the Pad Thai and Red Curry with duck which were also very authentic, although Duck isn't something you typically find in Thailand, for curries, at least. We were sitting outside, before it got too hot, and a friend stopped by. He wholeheartedly advised us to get the chive dumplings, and we silently gave ourselves a pat on the back for having already ordered them. Our waitress took us into the air conditioning and refilled our waters. The dumplings came out from the kitchen and were amazing. Next time we might have to order two. My pad Thai had lots of chicken and veggies. My daughter had pad kee mao noodles. She spent a month in Thailand and declared lunch to be great. We finished with banana pieces fried in dough accompanied by a scoop of ice cream. The restaurant is nicely decorated to portray Thailand and the decorations makes me feel like I'm in Thailand. The outdoor seating has umbrellas, so that's really nice. The restaurant and including the bathroom or clean. The food is good and authentic, out of the 5 to 6 different dishes that we ordered only one that we didn't like as much which is the chicken laab with taste a little sweet which it shouldn't, according to. We returned the next day to eat here again, and try other dishes. Customer service was nice. Our first first tour and the first day was awesome. This is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Miami because they offer authentic dishes that don't often pop up on menus in other Thai restaurants. Located on Giralda in Coral Gables, they have outside dining on the street, though the indoors dining room is beautifully decorated as well so it's hard to choose. I selected Kao Mun Kai, because I love this chicken dish so much I basically order every chance I get. This version does not disappoint - the rice is aromatic and the chicken tender. Kao Ka Moo is another popular Thai street food that is rarely offered in American Thai restaurants. The pork hock is flavorful and melt-in-your-mouth succulent. The portions are also very generous, we have enough leftover for another full meal. Maybe the dishes we ordered are not the most common ones, it took a while for them to arrive, but the waiter was nice enough to keep us informed. There are many enticing dishes on the menu, so we'll definitely be back to explore more!! read more

We enjoy coming here to sit on the at the tables on the floor. My little one loves the chicken fried rice. Khao Soy noddle soup is delicious! It's a Thai curry with noodles, coconut milk, chicken, yellow curry. I added a bit of their chili oil to give it a little kick. Their plum wine is great as well. Khao San road is on Giralda. If you're looking for authentic Thai, this is a good spot the pad-Thai is fantastic, and so is the beef stew soup with noodles. Service was great. In terms of parking your left to Coral Gables St. parking. I wish their menu had a few more appetizers, such as calamari or squid rings as they're often called in Thailand, but the Gyozas we ordered were tasty nonetheless. read more

Stopped by Khaosan Road for a quick lunch today as it is conveniently located a few blocks away from our hotel. Between my husband and I, we had the papaya salad, a tofu pad thai, and a tom yum noodle. By checking in on Yelp, we were also able to redeem a couple of Thai iced teas, which were delicious and refreshing. The papaya salad and tofu pad thai tasted very authentic, unfortunately the tom yum noodle, which was a soup noodle did not have any tom yum flavors, instead, it tasted like a pad thai soup, and wasn't good. This is our favorite Thai spot. The mee grab, jumping squid, and tom yum goong soup all remind me of the best Thai food I used to eat as a teenager. The restaurant I went then is no longer around, but Khaosan does a great job in its place.
