Delicious and authentic Thai flavors, portions are satisfying, wait staff is helpful and was great with food suggestions do try the refreshing papaya salad and any specials of the day. The place is cute and decorated nicely. Very cozy vibes.

Malakor Thai Issan is fairly close to MIA, so we stopped for lunch before a flight. For Miracle Mile, parking was easy midweek. The restaurant is small and cozy with colorful Thai adornments and a beautiful water serpent mural. Tom Yum Seafood had a good variety with shrimp, calamari, and even small oysters. It was very tasty with lots of basil, cilantro, mushrooms and the right amount of heat. It was one of the best Tom Yums I've had in a while. I usually like Tom Yum Koong or shrimp, so this was a nice change I'd recommend if you want soup. We shared Crispy Pork Belly that was stir-fried with basil, onions and topped with 2 fried eggs. With white rice it was authentic Thai! I'd prefer it even more crispy, but maybe we let it sit too long while drinking our soup. Our Mango Sticky Rice dessert came shaped like a heart. It disappeared fast. Malakor doesn't have a liquor license but the Prosecco and Thai beer were fine. We'll be back to try other menu items, especially the Issan specialties!

I got served the soda in a glass that had lipstick from the last patron not fully cleaned off, and the server didn't know what "mild plus" was for spice levels. At $20-$30+ per dish, I was surprised at the lack of care with cleaning the glasses and the lackluster service. The one time the server checked on me he filled my Sprite with water. The restaurant is open seating and half the shop is traditional chairs and tables while the other half of the shop is low tables to dine while sitting on cushions on the floor. The pad Thai - the most common of all Thai dishes and a staple of any Thai restaurant - was fine. It's nothing I'd write home about, or recommend to a friend. It was just... there. They've fallen into the trap of relying on added spice in substitution for having a good base flavor. At just under $24 before gratuity for a pad Thai and a Sprite I wanted better. 2/5.

Hmm, the food were okay. I got the pad see eew, the flavor was there, but the noodles were too saggy. The chicken satay is not too bad, but all the flavor were just relying on the peanut sauce, the chicken itself taste pretty plain. My friend did not like her fire chicken with rice, it just tasted like orange chicken. The Tom yum soup, however, was probably the worst Tom yum soup I've ever tried in a Thai restaurant. The soup feels like hot water mixing with the powder from those fast noodle package, all I can taste is msg and I can't taste any real ingredients that were used to cook the soup like lemongrass and tomato, etc.

Pleasant service with outdoor seating and yummy food. We were hungry after the airport, and decided to stop by here for a quick meal before checking in our hotel. We were seated quickly, and food also came out sizzling hot! All the dishes we ordered were good. Sauce in Tuna Tartare was a little sweet, but we like the dish over all. Crab fried rice, pad kee mao, papaya salad, laab, and calamari were great. Level 3 out of 5 was a little too spice for us, and we eat spicy. I would order 2/5 next time.

Worst wings ever the picture that they post is not what you get you get frozen chicken wings. Granted their sauce was good the way of a price for bad bad wings

We went here for dinner on a Saturday night. We had never been to the Coral Gables area and were hungry for Thai food and thought this looked good. We were seated right away and ordered some chicken peanut satay and California rolls to start. Both were extra tasty. Sadly our entrees weren't nearly as tasty - lots of the protein was over cooked and my hubby found a piece of metal (from a scrub brush, we think) in his entree. We let the staff know - they did give us a discount but were not overly concerned about it.

Been coming here for years and never rated them. Food is always great. Tasty and authentic. Service is excellent and the restaurant while it is small it is nice and cozy. This time I did notice they had the temperature a little higher than usual. Maybe to save on the electrical bill but it was borderline uncomfortable. This was a one time thing for me so I'm not going to take away anything from it. Pad Thai is fantastic and probably one of the closest from Thailand. Everything else is great, the Tom Kha Kai soup is amazing. I order it spicy and it is delicious!!! This ain't fine dining, but it is amazing tasty and delicious food that won't disappoint.

    Gang Aom Isaan Curry

Came here on a Sunday night for dinner. Got to pick where to sit. Definitely a lot of different options on the menu, including items I've never seen at other Thai restaurants. Ended up ordering the Gang Aom Isaan Curry and the Chiang Mai Egg Noodles. Gang Aom Isaan Curry: This dish peaked my interest because I'd never had curry without coconut milk. I was warned by the waiter that this dish was very fishy, with anchovies. The dish reminded me of a soups Came loaded with vegetables, even one I haven't tried before--Thai eggplant. I realize now that I do like coconut milk based Thai curries more since they're creamier, but I'm glad I tried it. The Chiang Mai egg noodles was definitely more my favorite since it was loaded with creamy curry and noodles. Topped with crunchy noodles that go so well when it soaks in the curry. Definitely sizable so justifies the price tag. Service was very attentive. And I appreciate that the staff really know their menu. Would come here again if I'm in the area and craving Thai food.

Good little Thai spot in the Gables. It's right on Miracle Mile, so you'll have to look for street parking. They do have outdoor seating, but it's limited. The waiters are very friendly and accommodating, I always eat outside with my Basset Hound so I've never been inside. The food is self is very good and tasty. My only complaint is the outdoor table is just a $8 flimsy patio table, it's not even wood...a little more effort would be nice. And they didn't have lime, what kind of a Thai place, doesn't have lime? If they fix those two issues, I would definitely give it five stars.

@annainthe305. Everything here is delicious. This is on of the top Thai places in the neighborhood in my opinion.

I've had takeout from here several times and decided to finally have a dine in experience. I loved the decor. The walls and ceiling are covered with different Asian-inspired touches: dragons, fans, string instruments, buddhas, etc. The service was wonderful. I definitely felt taken care of. I started off with a sweet and strong lychee martini. The tom kha soup had a perfect balance of flavors. For my entree I tried the shrimp with ginger sauce. It was absolutely delicious. Malakor definitely ranks as one of the top Thai places in the neighborhood in my opinion.

    Electric store hours sign
    Tiffany V.

We stopped by this location two times on separate days and they were closed. The Yelp, Google, and picture of the restaurant hours, are all different. The store hours posted at the restaurant has two different time. The One on the electric lighted sign, and then one print it and post at the window. We really want to try their food but the store was never open so we didn't get to eat. Is the location where is hard to find parking space the front of the store is nicely decorated but we are unsure about it. Looks like inside. Evaluate the food as we have not able to taste it due to the store open at weird hours. We are travelers, so we cannot come back-and-forth. But he really wanted to try so we came back the next day and they still close.

Food is horrible and salty. There no taste but salt. They delivered the wrong item and made it seem like it was my fault.

    Do they cater for vegans?

Thai food is coconut milk based. You can surely get any curry without meat! There are also quite a few other options you can get without meat which will be vegan friendly. Even the noodles are rice based.

I had the tofu, fried oyster mushrooms and the green curry with shrimp. Everything came out fast and was delicious. It's definitely not the best Thai food I've ever had but I loved the service, the vibe and it fulfilled my Thai craving. This is on a busy street (street parking) and the music is quite loud inside (not conducive to having a conversation). Yet the outside area is small and the sidewalk was a bit busy too, and it was windy (napkins flying). So keep that in mind. Also not great for groups--it's too small.

Definitely visiting again!…read more We ordered a variety of dishes and got a great feel for the menu: * Crispy tofu (6/10): Delicious and well-prepared, though not necessarily a standout dish * Green curry with chicken (7/10): Comforting, rich, and filling. Made even better with the extra spice our server brought out * Khao soi (10/10): Absolute perfection. A true standout with incredible depth of flavor and texture. The beef was perfectly stewed and seasoned...easily the highlight of the visit * Basil duck (9/10): Fresh, crispy, and paired beautifully with the basil. Super flavorful * Fried rice (5/10): Not my favorite, but still decent overall * Pad Thai (7/10): Tasty and satisfying, just not particularly unique compared to others I've had * Passion fruit sake: Perfect balance between the sake and the sweetness of the passion fruit. Great to split between two The ambiance was fun and energetic, with great music and vibrant lighting that really set the mood. We went on a Saturday night and were initially told it would be about a 40-minute wait. They let us grab beers while we waited, and we ended up being seated in about 20-25 minutes, which was a nice surprise. Service was attentive throughout. Our water was constantly refilled and plates were cleared promptly. Overall, an exceptional and vibrant experience. Already looking forward to coming back!
