I live very close to Khun Moo and have been eating their food for years, but have never written a review. We mostly get the same items but have never had a bad dish. The last time we ordered from Khun Moo we got Chicken Larb and Chicken Drunken Noodles. Their larb is so fresh and flavorful I could eat it almost every day. I quite often get nam sod, which is quite similar to larb, however it has peanuts and fresh ginger strips, which the larb does not have. They are both delicious. The drunken noodles are always very good with a nice variety of fresh vegetables. I have never eaten inside the restaurant, however in picking up food the ambiance is typical of most Thai restaurants. It is decorated nicely but sparse. The person taking my order over the phone is always very pleasant and helpful, as well as the entire staff. This is THE most fantastic restaurant for delivery - they slice holes in their containers so crispy food actually stays delicious and crispy. Friend chicken - crispy, egg rolls, crispy. Their food is solid but not stellar. Prices to my surprise were comparable to cheaper West LA Thai places. Service was good but slow at times. I waited to order and for my leftovers to be boxed. The small place (seats maybe 20 people) was almost full at 7 pm on a weeknight. The server also worked the register and phone. Now about my meal- special Roasted Duck Fried Rice. Had enough meat and I liked that the few skin pieces were separated from the meat. The rice needed seasoning. The lemon wedge and cilantro helped add fresh flavoring but I added a lot of spicy tangy liquid from the jalapeño peppers condiment jar. The Beef Pepper Steak was much better though the sauce was a little salty. But no tomatoes as described on the menu. It came with white rice. I thought it was odd that my food was given a fork and had to ask for chopsticks. They have lunch and dinner specials (between 3-9 pm). There are enough parking I'd say bathroom is sufficient don't mind the water heater that greets you as you enter. Support your local restaurants now or they may be gone tomorrow. I have ordered from Khun Moo Thai Kitchen several times over the past few months and overall the food has been pretty good all things considered. I say that because as I write this we are smack dab in the middle of the Covid-19 shut down. They are configured to meet you basically at the door so you don't even enter the main dining area. The card transaction is done in a safe manner too and the food was ready when I arrived. I will also qualify this review by saying that my most recent trip for a to go order there were a couple of dishes that seemed to be missing an ingredient or two or something was just off a bit. I would never consider something like that during these times to be anything other then a consequence of access to certain food items. So with that in mind, it was clear they didn't have limes to make the papaya salad dressing so they used lemon instead. I wouldn't say it was my favorite substitution. My daughter tried a Pad Se Eww for the first time and she loved it, but even that was rather bland and oily. The chicken Sate was great and the Chicken rice was more of a special order they made up for my daughter in place of a Thai style fried rice. I am certain once things normalize a bit more the consistency will be there as well once again. They have a very small dining area and I suspect typically do a large to go business so I am hopeful they can weather this current storm and come out the other side. They are a solid choice for someone looking to order Thai take out in the area at a very reasonable price and it is quick and easy to get in and out. read more

I just moved to the area and still unpacking and decided to order from here. I love Thai food and the reviews looked good as well as price and photos, so why not! Delivery was actually earlier and the food hot. I ordered the bbq Thai chicken dinner combo which came with rice, apps, and a soup. For $12 bucks you can't go wrong. I also ordered the wonton wrapped shrimp. The food was good. The rice left a little to be desired in terms of seasoning. It was a good portion, but they only gave me 1 packet of soy sauce. The chicken was delicious. Well cooked and seasoned with the perfect amount of char. I reallly enjoyed the soup. It had veggies, tofu and a very simple but tasty! The apps were good as well, and it was so much food I'll have some left over for tomorrow. The shrimp were interesting. See the video, but they were tasty and maybe just a bit over fried where it was a bit hard to chew with that wrap. I took it off and liked it better that way. Found Khun Moo Thai Kitchen on Yelp while we were searching for dinner spots in the area. Small mom and pop shop with only about 8-10 tables inside. Extremely friendly service by the owners of the restaurant ensuring we had everything we needed. Beef Salad ($8.95): Mixed greens with onions, cilantro, tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, and grilled beef with spicy lime dressing. I would suggest asking for the dressing on the side since the salad toward the bottom of the plate became soggy. Tom Yum Hot Pot ($10.95): The price of the hot pot soup is cheaper than any other Thai restaurant I have been to. There is an option for either chicken or shrimp in the soup (no extra charge for shrimp). Flavor is really strong in lemongrass but still really good. Out of this world! We would always order from the same Thai spot on Postmates but saw Khun Moo and wanted to give it a shot. Ordered the coconut chicken soup, green curry, pad see ew, and pad Thai with crab. The delivery arrived late but the food was piping hot. It was hotter than most restaurants I've dined in at! Solid lunch special options, typical soup or salad choice then egg roll on the side... you can sub steamed (white) rice for brown or fried rice for an extra $1. What stood out was the house special butter sauce (with choice of meat - beef/chicken/pork). It's made with green onions, chili and black peppers stir- fried with the butter sauce. I got beef but was surprised to find that it was not that saucy. It's more like an orange chicken texture except more of a burnt look than orange.. but had good flavor. Very impressed with this little hole in the wall place. Actually, this restaurant has been here forever, but these are new owners. They have a special Northern style menu and food items are listed on the wall. I didn't get to try, but will definitely be back. We ordered beef larb and it was filled with all types of greens and spices- iceberg and red leaf lettuce, cilantro, mint leaves, green and red onions, cabbage, carrots and of course, the main ingredient roasted rice. I ordered their Spicy Basil Chicken. I'm still not giving the best review because it had NO BASIL flavor, the flavor that I wanted hence the name of the dish! We ordered from them a couple of times. First time most of the food was really great with minor things that we found ok. The soup was full of flavors. The yellow curry was delicious. The second time the food had more things that we didn't found impressive. Flavors were not as strong and the curry was too spicy. It looked like the cook was different that day. It would have been better if there was less batter.
