Khyber pass biryani (Enough for 2-3 ppl)

Lunch specials till 3pm with good options. I haven't eaten at this place in years however it is still as good as I remember. The atmosphere is still calm and inviting. The food seasoned perfectly and delicious. I started with soup mughlai gosht soup and it was excellent. I also had the Khyber pass biryani. It took was delicious and included shrimp, lamb, and chicken with a yogurt sauce. Taj mahal was eXtra cold; small beer size. Service was quick and the food was hot. Waiter was kind but didn't smile or talk much. Entire venue holds about 40-50 people. Street metered parking or paid lots.

This place is hands down my absolute favorite Indian food restaurant in the west suburbs of Chicago. I'm so loyal that I only ever recommend here to all out of town visitors.

Khyber pass is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the suburbs. The food is always on point and the service is always fantastic. They know their menu very well and are always happy to offer recommendations. The overall vibe of the restaurant transports you. I also love that they have some menu items that are not always easy to find. The Shrimp Tikka Masala is AMAZING! The shrimp are fresh and the sauce has just a little kick of spice. The garlic naan (always a classic) is buttery, garlicky, and always made to order. Overall, this is a must visit if you're in Oak Park.

4/5...I got curious, its hard to find a proper and consistent indian joint sometimes.... hit or miss. This one offers good service, dimmed lights, tasty but small/ pricey portions, clean environment and quality ingredients. The Samosas are not "right out of the oven" fresh but the Naan is... definitely get the Kyber Naan... garlic and cheese is proper! The meat cuts are quality and the sauces are good enough to want more. I can tell it's not entirely made from scratch per order and some things are prepared earlier, but its still flavorful enough to enjoy. (The orders came out quick..if you get what i mean) As far as price and portions... you're going to easily spend 20$ on a main plate, and 7$ on an appetizer. I'd go far as to say the appetizer and the main dishes are similar in size. (Yikes) Expect to pay 70$ for two people breh... Its Oak Park afterall..mmmrite?? Next time, I wont order the saucey main meals because its mostly sauce and a few cubes of quality meat. Moving forward, im getting an all meat dish without sauce to get my real money's worth. Paying $20 for a sauce themed plate like Marsala or Butter Chicken leaves a weird feeling in my wallet in general. Overall:: I'd come here again.. BUT for their lunch specials for myself. If you bring a date or the entire family, be prepared to drop some serious $$$. Its quality, clean and flavorful. If you dont want to drop serious money for the experience, this one isn't for you...order a pizza fam. Is it the best Indian joint in Chicago? No.... BUT Is it better than 70% the other spots around the city, perhaps .... Ill be back for their all lamb plate or chicken tandoori. That's the real winner I noticed based on the pictures and reviews. Also want to try their mango lassi (no ice)

Omg. This was one of the best meals I've ever had. There was nothing made incorrectly or poorly. Even as leftovers, the food reheated really well and tasted just as good as it did when fresh. Everything was perfect and the vibes were there, like you're going to a family member's house for lunch. It's so clearly owned and operated by people who care and want to share their culture. I loved the decor and general ambiance.

I had the Vegetable Pakora and Chicken tikka masala. The Pakora was good; like a fritter, veggies battered and deep fried. Good dipping sauce came with it. The chicken tikka masala was awesome. Such tender flavored chicken in a very tasty sauce with rice & salad on side. Excellent combo presentation. Will definitely be back!

Ordered their mutton biryani. Biryani looked good, but made and tasted like the masala wasn't cooked properly . Very poor quality.

Our server was Ricky, who was helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and also not rushing our table. We see each other rarely so there was a lot of talking. The chicken was dynamite and the onion garlic stuffed naan was my favorite. Tough to stop eating when you start with such amazing apps. They ordered butter chicken, and I got the eggplant, which always has been a personal favorite. Here it was beautifully plated, had some heat, and also flavorful as hell. I had to stop eating after a couple pieces because I was heating up massively. The weather was gorgeous so the doors were open. I was dressed for work, so I was blazing hot. We sat and talked for a while, then decided to come back and order desserts and coffee. Mango creme brûlée and the pistachio ice cream looked great. I had a mango smoothie which was refreshing and not too sweet. Ricky told us it wasn't super busy so we could stay, which was very kind of him. I have been exhausted all week, lots of meetings and I'll be flying home tomorrow. But this is definitely a large variety of options for people to find what they like. Thanks to Ricky and the team for a wonderful dinner! Support small businesses!

The sandwich was delicious, I would have liked the bread toasted to a crunchy element but was still a good sandwich. For an appetizer we had Samosa (similar to an empanada in concept) this was filled with peas and potatoes which were seasoned nicely and when accompanied with the turmeric sauce was awesome. The turmeric sauce added spice and a new level of flavor. We also tried the marsala fries, they were regular crinkle, cut fries, but with a special flavor of marsala; also very tasty. I ordered the Goat Curry marinated goat cooked in a homemade cashew gravy. I also ordered garlic naan which was phenomenal; the goat was season well and very tender, it also came with Jeera which is a light rice that you can literally sprinkleon the curry instead of being clumpy like regular white rice. Using the naan as a vessel to eat, the dish, took it to a whole new level. Glenda tried the mango lassi, which is basically a shake made with mango, ice cream, and shaved almonds on top. That drink was cool and refreshing. We will definitely return to this restaurant, there are a few more things that I would like to try. I give this restaurant 5 stars, Ciao Ciao for now. please give it a try and let me know your opinion.
