July 28, 2025 - I went to Kibo Sushi House with a friend and got the Maki Combo A. You get a little discount if you walk in and pay by cash. It was $36. We walked in, ordered, and the food was ready in about 15 minutes. Just to note this is a take out only restaurant and there is nowhere to sit inside. The combo came with 6 California roll, 6 spicy salmon, 10 red dragon and 10 dynamite. It's a really good deal and the fish was fresh and the rolls were made fresh. I ordered tempura at this sushi house. They are well made, fried to the perfection, and taste good. Didn't get a chance to try the premade sushi which is very well priced. The only disappointment is that there is no sitting area. It is an order to go, take out place. We came without knowing this. read more

I ordered a roll from here as we were leaving the area and we had a positive experience. The Service: The employees were very friendly and they answered all of my food allergy questions. The Food: I ended up ordering a salmon avocado roll to tie me over until dinner and it was really good. The salmon was very fresh and the roll was made very quickly. M The Ambiance: This location is more of a hole in the wall type of venue, which is geared towards takeout. When we were waiting for the roll, many people came in and out to pick up orders they purchased over the phone or via order service apps. Would I go back? I would definitely order takeout from here if in the area. read more

I went here for a quick bite since I was walking along the harbourfront area. The service was quick. The store is very small, nowhere for you to sit and eat after you purchase your food, it's a bit on the pricier side for take away orders. The sushi rice unfortunately wasn't seasoned well and tasted bland. The freshness of the fish was medium, wasn't extremely fresh, but wasn't bad with a fishy odour yet. I personally would not come back here as I find the other Kibo restaurants have fresher ingredients. The tempera here unfortunately was soggy and not crunchy as well. An OK sushi joint. Very small for takeout. Positive: - They have $5 cash only specials - Rice is not packed thick on the rolls. Although it makes the rolls healthier, it is also not as filling. - Ritual pick up - Seating options at the bar/window - Aburi options Negative: - $5 specials are mostly vegetarian such as yam/potato tempura roll - Not many ready made take out options - Since this is a chain restaurant, this is an online menu. However, I don't believe this location actually sells all the items listed on the online menu. Great small sushi joint, offering fresh sushi and sashimi made to order. Their menu is quite extensive - ranging from shumai, tempura, salads, and all the typical sushi rolls, to tataki, don buri (rice bowls), bento boxes, udon, and a la carte sushi and sashimi. They also have various maki combos and party set platters. Their sushi rolls are packed with fillings / protein (less rice, more filling). I like that their menu contains a wide variety of items, including aburi sushi. They include aburi (torched fish) in some of their special rolls. read more

I tried this place with hope to enjoy some nice sushi. I understand this place is for takeout and already heard from a friend that it's 'not bad' so I set my expectation not too high before going. 1. order It took almost 50 minutes for karaage and a small sushi combo. I ordered pickup from online, that took about 10-15min to get there, but had to wait extra 30min there. It was dinner time, so they were busy but at the same time, I don't recall waiting this long when I order something much bigger in North York or Markham at equally popular sushi locations. 2. food short answer is it's definitely not worth the wait. -sushi &sashimi: they are ok. at least they are better than ones you get from grocery stores and didn't feel dry. nigiri (sashimi on top of rice) was falling apart when I try to pick it up. -honey karaage (fried chicken): this is not a karaage you'd get from a japanese ramen place, but feels like a grilled chicken with some fried layer outside. they put so much honey that it was way too sweet and sauce wasnt blended well that i could taste raw honey as is. -dynamite roll: ive never had a dynamite roll that's so bland. typically even without sauce on top, dynamite rolls typically taste good when balanced well (cucumber, shrimp tempura, avocado, etc), but this one, rolls immediately fell apart as soon as i pick it up that i had to be very careful when eating. but most important, it just tastes very bland and plain. they also gave me miso soup and salad which are typical. so in overall what I experienced is a result of poor food, long wait time due to dinner rush time but I am not sure if the results will be better even when I order during non-busy hour. I'm glad I didnt order anything bigger because I am not coming back. read more

I live nearby so had to order sushi here few times. I have been hoping my next order would be better quality, but looks like they just keep making the same thing... The seaweed is so chewy, like rubber. The spicy they use tastes very unnatural, my stomach always gets hurt every time after having their spicy salmon/tuna. It is what it is...a quick and cheap place for sushi. You won't find gourmet stuff here, but the rolls and chirashi bowls here are pretty decent for the price. They also do party platters, which is convenient for eating in for a group of people. read more

After living in this neighborhood for over 3 years I have to say I really missed out on not trying Kibo earlier. The sushi here is made fresh to order while you wait, usually it takes 10 minutes or less. The fish is fresh, rice is the perfect temperature, and the rice to fish ratio is nearly perfect. May I add I believe that the owners (or at least the staff) are Japanese? The $5 grab and go deals are great too, they're available on a cash only basis but provide better value than any other premade sushi joint. If you pay cash for regular orders they also give a discount of 10%. I personally love the sushi/roll basics, I have yet to try the Aburi or other cooked dishes. I would advise against ordering the spicy salmon as it is mostly fried tempura bits (unless you like that, then all power to you!) read more

The price reflects the amount of food you get. The staff are friendly and helpful. I tried their chirashi donburi and the spicy salmon dragon roll. I would totally recommend those two. Also, they have amazing side dishes, like the miso soup and their green salad. read more

I only come here because i live across the street. The sushi is kind of rushed when they put it together so super messy and too big for bite size. I also went in today to buy their special $5 cash and go but because i didnt have cash i was going to buy 2 and pay using my card but they didnt allow me to. Stupid rule as its their loss in sales and really bad customer service. Last week they closed 20 mins early so im basically done with this shit hole. read more

This place was great before it was bought and/or renamed. Previously they made good and affordable sushi. I think the prices are the same, but quality is not. Rolls fall apart, rice isn't as good, and they skimp on the fish. Sad because it was my go to take out spot in the neighborhood. Not anymore. read more
