Kibō Japanese cuisine was an okay experience. It is also a hibachi spot but I went solely to try their specialty rolls. The presentation of the sushi was lovely. I thought that the teriyaki chicken rolls were yummy but had too much rice in it. The miso soup had a weird flavoring to it and so did the house salads ginger dressing. It probably was a ginger/peanut dressing if that was the case. The service was warm and friendly. My Partner was fussy about the cold draft but I think she was sitting directly under the vent. I will give this restaurant another try and See if I'd enjoy their sashimi more. read more

This is my go to spot! They have the freshest sashimi mackerel. When we need a fast sushi fix, we go here. I have never ordered from here and didn't have anything that didn't taste good. Wish it was a larger location to sit in and eat. You could before, but it's really small and due to COVID, you can only do take out now. Definitely a go to spot! read more

Haven't had sushi in a while so we ordered delivery on a rainy day. Food came fairly quickly. We ordered 2 lunch special maki rolls. The rolls weren't too big, not too much rice but the fish was good quality especially for the price.. quite surprised. Shrimp tempura.. spicy tuna/salmon, Philly, etc.. all very good.. Miso soup wasn't as salty as other restaurants. Great if you want something hot on a cold...day in May.. Definitely better than some of the sushi restaurants in Forest Hills which is where we would normally get our sushi fix if we don't want to venture too far from home. I've only had a few sushi rolls from here, never tried the other kitchen dishes but I will soon! The sushi rolls are always fresh - I LOVE the salmon mango roll and the Dynamite roll which is spicy tuna + avocado. I ordered the yellowtail scallion roll today and it was also on point. I absolutely love the contactless elements they have in place here and I've never seen such a great setup. There is a big plastic partition (almost like a bank window) and they put your food in a box and then you pick it up from the box. It's wonderful. Service is very friendly and my order is always ready when I get there. Very pleased with Kibo. I would like to try some kitchen dishes soon but I really love the rolls so I never want to order anything else ! Edited to add: to the last reviewer before me - who is closed on a Sunday ? A LOT of businesses. It's a day of rest. It's extremely common. You mentioned how you'd rather have Chick-fil-a which I think is hysterical because they are known for being closed on Sundays specifically in observance of their Christian beliefs. I've been there a couple of times during Covid and they are deff taking precautions. Theres barrier between customers and staff so there is never direct contact. There's a little slot where you pay and a different compartment thingy where you lift up to get your food; similar to the post office for big packages, lol. They provide hand sanitizer right when you walk in as well. I've tried their tofu teriyaki, chicken teriyaki express, and beef teriyaki bento box. All very different but tasty. First of all, who is closed on a Sunday ? When you are craving some Japanese curry and Katsu with your family, you expect to place an order online as I was about to. Just had a general question regarding the dish. So I gave the restaurant a call once I had all the items in the cart ready to place an order. I called 3 to 4 times (Snday 5:10pm) and no one picked up. Honestly, what would have been even more upsetting is placing the order, and waiting for the food to arrive only for this place to never even respond with feedback based on the order or website telling the customer that this place is closed by disabling the button to place an order. Now I am hungry, upset, and probably will never order from this place ever --even if I am starving, I would rather eat Chick-fil-A before this place. It's been a little while since I've ordered from Kibo but I really was feeling Japanese food and I had such a great experience the first time that I called On Kibo to quench our appetites once again. It was again so hard to choose what to get, we finally settled on Salmon Teriyaki over steamed veggies, 6 California rolls, a pint of fried rice, beef with scallion rolls and .asparagus. Kibo did not disappoint. Delivery was not as lightening fast as the first time but it was still timely, the driver was still very courteous and everything was super yummy! I ordered delivery from this restaurant. Delivery guy was very nice and polite. Food was delivered very fast. Salad was very cold and fresh. Miso soup..... nothing special about it but I liked it since it was not salty at all. Spicy kani roll and eel avocado roll were very tasty as well. However, sushi and sashimi pieces were not that fresh. Overall, I really liked everything I had. I was excited to find out that a new Japanese place opened up near my new job. I came in to take out lunch and ordered the Chicken teriyaki served over a bed of white rice and a side of miso soup. The chicken teriyaki was well cooked and contained a healthy amount of chicken, however, I found the teriyaki sauce to have strange taste. The sauce was way too sweet tasting, and did not reach of fine balance of sweet and savory. Well, first let me say that when it comes to sushi, delivery was never something I would do. But I havent had sushi in about a year now and while browsing what to order Kibo came up and I thought hmmmmm...... Thats when my taste buds started to salivate and I really stared crave it, so I bit the bullet and placed an order. Ohh baby, I had just submitted my order what felt like minutes before when my phone rang that my delivery person had arrived. Whattttttt!!! I was given an estimate of 45 minutes for delivery but I received my order in less than 20 minutes (granted, I'm only 5 minutes away and it is sushi, but they definitely wowed me)! I wish I had taken pictures but I was excited to have some sushi and was so surprised and pleased that the delivery was lighning fast that it took me outta my game. I promise to do better next time. I ordered Sp20 Black Dragon Roll and Sp21 Mango Roll. The Dragon roll is hot and the Mango roll is cold. The first thing I did was smell my food and was happy nothing concerned me which is always a big + when you are dealing with sushi. The ingredients were very fresh, arranged neatly and had my mouth watering. All the extras were in my bag (chopsticks, sauces, napkins etc) I know what you are thinking, why does anyone need to even mention that, but I do because we do. These days, nothing is a given. I was face timing with my son when I received the order and he laughed at me because I was doing a little happy dance with every bite because it was just too good not to celebrate! I really mean it, it's delicious food worthy of celebration! I was asked by my son to pick a favorite and I tried but couldn't, they were both delicious in their own way. Just order from them, and tell them I sent you! Now, understand that saying I sent you won't get you anything extra or special (or me for that matter) but I've always wanted to say that so BOM there it is :D Kibo is now on my fan fav list. I'm so happy we have a Japanese takeout in this community! Their food is so good and well presented! My boyfriend got a few sushi items and before I could even take a photo, he demolished everything. You can tell time and care was put into making the food. It tastes nothing short of amazing! I've tried their teriyaki chicken and really liked it! But hands down the hibachi salmon stole my heart. It's so damn tasty that I was taking my time to eat it because I didn't want finish it too soon. They also give you options of having soup or salad with your meal. They deliver too! Ordered delivery on grubhub and the food was on time and delicious. At first I was not happy with the hibachi pricing the the portion size was huge, definitely meant to share.
