For my entree, I got the Tailgator, which is their appetizer sampler. it had 2 chicken strips, several jalapeno bites, 3 mozzarella sticks, and a few boneless chicken wings. They were all good, except for the boneless chicken wings, which were just okay. The Buffalo Garlic sauce I ordered for the wings was as thin as water and did add taste, but mostly just soaked the batter, ruining any crispy texture that might have been there. The price was over $10 for this sampler and I thought that was a dollar or two more than it should have been. For that reason, I'll probably try something else next time. My friends got burgers and another got the pizza&salad lunch special, the latter of which turned out to be a great value (because the "half pizza" serving was quite large), and he said it tasted good, too. To my friend who got a burger, I said 'the burgers sure look good' (which they did). To which he responded, "well ... they're pretty good". So I guess they could have been better in his opinion. Mediocre and underwhelming describes my entire experience at Kick Back Jacks. The food took an extremely long time to come out. Granted it was a holiday weekend, but the restaurant seemed like it was staffed well. When we got our food, it tasted like it had been microwaved. Not good. The fries had a nice amount of seasoning, but the chicken wings were blah. For the price we paid, Buffalo Wild Wings would have been a better option. Our server came over probably twice. My husbands drink wasn't refilled so I gave him the rest of my water. The only thing that warrants two stars is they did have multiple televisions with a variety of sports on each. I could see this as a good place to watch a game, just skip the food. read more

We have been there several Tuesday nights- 1/2 price wine and $5 burgers. I think tonight was our 6th time going there. It is usually pretty good. My hubby loves the burgers and the fries are crispy, which is how we like them. Tonight, however, the service was terrible and the food was "ok" at best. The waitress could care less and she was absent. We won't let one poor time ruin our opinion. We will give it another chance. read more

Last night was a mess. My husband and I have been coming to Kickback with his parents at least once a week or every 2 weeks depending on things going on with work. Back to my first statement. My in-laws got sat and got drinks as soon as being seated by the server. Another server comes by and starts to get drink orders and realizes that they already had drinks and goes "I don't know why she got your drinks, she's not your server". My husband and I arrive shortly after. We sit down and wait literally 20 minutes to order food before ever seeing the server again. We place our food order and never saw the server again for 45 minutes. We still have no food at this point and ask for refills on our drinks. She has an attitude when being asked to do that and then gives an excuse on the reason it's been so long is because she was waiting on the wings to be cooked. Come on now, 3 people out of the 4 of us ordered boneless wings which are fried. Try again. It goes on an hour and still no food, we ask to speak to the manager and magically our food appears. In the matter of an hour after ordering our food, we witnessed 2 parties of at least 8+ people get their food before us and they were sat and ordered after us. One of those big parties was also the same servers tables. They had issues with their food as we did as well. The manager helped bring the food out and we were missing the steak that our 4th person ordered. The manager then makes an excuse if they burnt the first one they are working on your steak and it'll be out shortly. While different things were wrong with our orders and things never came out, we witnessed the other table of hers has the same issue. When talking with the manager about how rude the server has been when asking for simple things, she walks up and over hears and rolls her eyes. Taylor I believe her name was. After all the issues we had and rude service from the manager and the server, we still had to wait 30 minutes after food coming out to get refills on drinks again. Literally had to ask another server, because the manager and our server disappeared. Everyone seemed to act like it was "whatever" when bringing things to their attention. I went to Kickback Jacks for the first time this evening, and I doubt I'll be returning. It started out with a man walking over to our table and asking us if a server had been over yet. We had no idea that this man even worked for the restaurant. He wasn't dressed in manager-like clothes, nor did he have any kind of name tag or identifier, but it turns out he was the manager. Apparently the waitress didn't know we were in her section, but she arrived shortly after the encounter with the manager. We got cheese fries as an appetizer and those were good. They also had a decent drink selection. My entree, however, was not very impressive. I got a sirloin and shrimp. The steak was terrible. It was very salty and had a charred, burned texture and flavor, yet the middle was red. It was also very chewy. The shrimp was okay. This place may be alright to go order an appetizer and a few drinks, but I certainly don't recommend it as somewhere to get your dinner. read more

When I was north in Philly, I had repeated bad experiences with sports bars. But my grown kids mentioned that they watched a hockey game here, so my wife and I gave it a try for lunch. The place go busy fast at noon. We were seated immediately, and a server took our drink order within seconds. She returned with oversized soft drinks within a minute, returned again quickly to see if we had decided. Cheeseburger (the Tuesday special for 6.99) and a flatbread pizza. The food came quickly. Cheeseburger perfectly med/rare with fries and small cup of a mildly tangy cheese dipping sauce. The pizza nicely cooked with fresh mozzarella, ricotta, and Italian sausage which added some interest to the taste. The server appeared when we needed her. The manager came by to check our satisfaction. I especially liked the visual effects. Numerous TV's of varying sizes and the open concept where you can see the screens even far across the restaurant so you have many points of input without craning your neck. Background music was upbeat and not so loud as to hinder conversation. When we left, our feeling was that this was a perfect casual lunch. read more

I came here with family after an event. My first experience here was not at all that great. We had a waitress that was very lazy and mentioned the mandatory tip (we normally tip very well) before we had a chance to be fully seated. Therefore, she did not service our table as she should've. The food was not very good. Nonetheless, my family and I decided to give KBJ another chance. This time there were several plates brought to our table that we did not order and those that were ordered, were not correct. One plate in particular was missing things and was overcooked. When we asked for a new one, we were told that we had to speak with the manager about the mixup. We waited for him for nearly 20 min and when he finally showed up (he had been in the room several times and never approached our table), he accused us of eating from the incorrect plate that we never even touched. We then waited almost another 20 min for a new plate. There were also things that we ordered and never received. The food was not good AGAIN. That's twice I have been here and have had a bad experience. If I could leave zero stars I would. I would never recommend this place to anyone. read more

It's a good thing they have a lot of tv's. Gives you something to do while waiting for your food and waitress. There were 3 people at the bar during my visit and still she was no where to be found, this is after she forgot half the order. Great setup with lots of TV's (think slightly better than BWW) even one in the bathroom. But that is where the positives stop. Ordered items that came not resembling the description on the menu (literally not the same). Mass confusion also to our entire order which was a disaster. Manager came over and was arrogant and rude and did not rectify anything (server was very nice but equally as confused as I) So we left at halftime of the game we came to watch and went to another local establishment for the second half which was top notch and will never be back to this place. read more

The shrimp was not properly cleaned. I bit into one of my shrimp only to find it was still covered in its thin shell and fried. I couldn't even finish it. Our waitress acted like they could not add cheese to our nachos. The chilli nachos were not that good. It seemed like they just doped the chilli out the can on the nachos. They didn't warm it or anything. The drink i had was delicious. That will more then likely be our last visit there. It was our first visit but it will moat likely be our last. read more

Today my experience was not good in fact it was horrible! The waitress was cordial but that was about it. I have been frequenting this restaurant for several months and honestly, the food is never consistent. The management is incompetent and needs to either be reprimanded or replaced. The burgers can be cooked any temperature, which isn't the case for most places in Greenville. This is a kid friendly place because the TVs are loud, it drowns out the sound of young children! ;). We usually done here when we have kids. Outdoor seating is nice too. read more

I just left the worst dinner experience I have ever had. First my husband and I came to kickbacks to watch the mets philly game. We arrived at 7 pm and sat at the bar....after sitting at the bar for 10 min the bartender finally came over to us, we ordered the beer special and wings and asked for the tv above us to me changed to the mets philly game. My husband went to the restroom and when he came back we still didn't have our drinks but the guy who sat down after us and ordered after us got his. At 740 the tv still hadn't been changed and still no wings, beers we did finally get. The bartenders were trying to change the tv but couldn't figure it out, no manger in site to help! Finally around 755 we got the game on ( only after we said to cancel the wings because we were leaving). After we got the wings and the game on we waited on beer after beer! Then we placed our dinner order...when we got the food my husbands shrimp blt was freezing cold to the point he couldn't eat it. By this time no bartender had spoken to us and we were waiting and waiting, they were to busy putting things away or making drinks for the customers sitting at tables...not one time did the bartenders interact with us, or act like we were customers! We finally had to physically wave one of the bartenders down to pay....our bill was 72$ and honestly if we had had better service it would of been more....we tipped 2$! It was the absolutely the worst experience we have ever had in any restaurant in Greenville, will never return, and will make sure others are aware of the bad experience. A sports bar should be able to change the channels, beer shouldn't take 20 min to get and we should be treated like customers especially on a Friday night when people are out! Oh my, where do I began. You cant order a huge amount of wings and ask if they can do half/half flavors. Ale house does this all the time. These folks here wont do it and will charge you for it. I went to Kick Back Jack's and ordered the wing lunch special with a side of shrimp. The wings were good, but the shrimp had a very strong fishy taste and odor. I had only eaten one and sent it back. Within a couple of minutes, their manager, named CHAD came to my table and without greeting me, said "What is wrong with the shrimp". I politely told him that they had a really bad taste and that I could not eat them. He said to me "It's seafood.". I responded and said "I understand that it is seafood, and that there will be a hint of fish, but it shouldn't be that strong." Chad replied "Well if you know it is seafood, why did you order it?" At that point, I told him to get away from my table. He was so extremely rude to me and he was a manager! He finally walked away and on his way back to the kitchen, he yelled, "I'm not taking that off of your bill!" I said, yes you are and followed him before stopping at the register to ask a waitress for a different manager. The other manager sincerely apologized and assured me that they are not trained to talk to customers in that manner. By then, I was already so upset that I gave my food back and offered to pay for my daughter's food only. The manager insisted on taking care of my full bill and I let him, but I still left my food because I was so upset with the disrespectful manager that I had dealt with before. They gave me a take out box for my 2 year old's pizza and I left the restaurant, promising the staff that I would never return. Their apologies meant very little to me because no one was reprimanding Chad and everyone was basically making it clear that he has a way of ticking off customers. first time eating at a kickback jacks. There were people just chilling in the parking lot for whatever reason.. My server was a complete bitch.. And my food was ehh. Got a drink off the menu which was okay ish; server had no opinions or suggestions for drink menu. Was a rude throughout the whole meal. And still received over a 20% because I was feeling gracious and have served for almost 10 years. As someone who has bartended and waited tables, I understand that customers pay my bills and should all be treated equally and with utmost respect. I am a breeze to serve and wait on because I know what it's like to wait tables. This girl has me regretting every penny of the $34.75 I spent on my meal because I work hard and tolerate a lot of bs for my money. Dropped the bill off and desert and walked away with out saying a word. If I hadn't already witnessed the poor manager talk to three tables surrounding me during my meal complaining about their food, I would have def pulled her over and let her know how unimpressed I was. BOTTOM LINE, food was okay, service was ehh, atmosphere is all you're paying for basically. Don't be a server if you're not a people person and are a complete bitch. read more

took my family there for a birthday dinner for my wife. i ordered one of their burgers. an hour later when our food arrived i had to send the burger back for being completly raw when i ordered it medium. The manager came out to my table when i sent it back and said that they have a diffrent standard then the normal when it came to the cookness of burgers. to my knowledge there is no diffrence in standards when it comes to how done a burger should be. overall they had no idea on how a burger should be cooked and the management had no idea on food safety tempatures for meat. i will not go back or recomend this restauraunt to anybody. read more
