Date of service: February 26, 2025…read more When my "go to" transportation service from Orlando to Port Canaveral was a no go (they don't operate on Wednesdays and directed me to Uber, which boggled my mind), I struggled to find another option until my fellow Yelpers came through with the high ratings for Cruise Control Transportation. While they didn't pick up from my hotel unfortunately, we took a quick Lyft over to the Hilton Garden Inn Orlando Airport and Mark was there right on time to pick us up, even calling as he pulled up to let us know he was arriving. The van was clean and comfortable and everyone in our van was on the same cruise, which meant we had only a couple stops to make before heading right to the port. The price per person (about $25 plus tax) was cheaper than a Lyft and I know that next time we are going to Port Canaveral I need to stay at one of the hotels they come to and save a little extra $$.

Located in the center of Downtown Orlando, this train station is the best for events in Orlando. We took this train from Altamonte to DTO for a Solar Bears game! Theirs plenty to do in the area while you wait for the train! Plenty to see, plenty to eat and plenty of shops to spend money! They're building something next to this stop, I'm hoping it's a proper train station or some sort of outpost. Could be a food hall!

One thing you might want to know about Church Street: unlike other stations (that I've used), the platforms for northbound and southbound are not directly opposite each other. The southbound platform is south of South Street, while the northbound platform is a little further north, NORTH of South Street. (I know that sounds confusing - it isn't if you read it carefully.) This is a useful fact lest you "go back to the same place" where you got off. If you're cutting it close, it might cost you 30 minutes until the next train (or 2 hours, or the next day!) I'm surprised and disappointed that GoogleMaps doesn't show this. Yes, I've submitted a "correction" request to them on 1/26/17, but it might take time for them to react and correct.

I rate and tip well on the uber app. I feel for the drivers trying to earn a living. Under what I see as a flawed and greedy corporate business model. It's hard to contact Uber when something comes up. The web site is poorly designed. Receipts aren't always mailed out or updates when you tip late. It seems their main aim is to sell you side services. Uber seems to have cynically exploited advancing the taxi profession. Now they're the problem. My guess is they're "driven" by margin compression above all else. I wish there were alternatives.
