Poke bowls with spicy tuna and salmon
    Samantha A.

The first time I came here the food was good but unfortunately my second trip the fish had a very fishy/not fresh taste to it. The toppings were good however.

I got this on uber eats so I won't be able to speak on the service or ambiance, but the poke itself was aight. The fish was pretty "fishy" and the other ingredients didn't taste that fresh either :/ It was a pretty disappointing meal unfortunately. I will not be coming back here.

This is one of the best poke bowls I've ever had, not to mention very affordable, the customer service is amazing they're so friendly and kind, the overall vibe of the place is amazing they've earned a forever customer and I will be telling everyone I know to go here.

The bowl was very tasteful. Lots of flavor. And for your hot summer days, this will hit the spot.

Fast and friendly service! Easy to order with TONS of fresh and delicious options. I went on a weekday just shortly after opening and was able to get in and out quickly with no wait. I did take my lunch to-go but they do have indoor and outdoor dining to choose from. I ordered my bowl with Salmon, tuna, and shrimp the ingredients were so fresh and delicious, lots of great flavors! I highly recommend you grab a bowl of poke if you're downtown, you won't be disappointed!! I will be back again.

    Trying the brownie today!

Always fresh. So good on a hot day! This time I tried the pickled onions, didn't notice a flavor punch unfortunately. I am trying their brownie today for dessert. Fresh cilantro always delivers a flavor punch and I always finish my bowl with more sauce and crunchy toppings. My bowl contained: White rice Spicy tuna Seaweed salad Extra scoops of crab salad Cilantro Mango Pineapple Green onions Sauces- spicy Mayo, eel sauce, soy sauce, and sesame oil Crunchy toppings- sesame seeds, garlic, onions, and tempura flakes Plus, if you get a bowl they do not limit the toppings you can add. The cup size, which is great for a light lunch or snack includes 5 toppings. Today, they had brownies. The brownie was so delicious. The top was cracked and the edge was crunchy! It was gooey and moist and chocolatey as a brownie should be. It tasted to me like it had brown sugar or brown buttered and maybe a hint of caramel. The best part is it was $1.50. By the way, their coconut cake is delicious too. Come check these guys out, you will not be disappointed! Enjoy!

Just moved from the bay and was worried about finding a quality poke place to become my new go-to. I absolutely love killer poke- fish and toppings are all fresh, and the staff and very kind and welcoming. Each time that I have gone, I have had a wonderful experience!

    Beautiful ambience.

So fantastic!!!! The poke here is so good. The guys behind the counter were very friendly & kind. And the poke options offer something for everyone! There are signs that tell you what the choices are - and there are LOTS of options!! I was really impressed at how many cooked-meat options there are, which is really great for those who maybe aren't fans of raw fish (poke is deconstructed sushi). Lots of topping choices; many sauce options. You can definitely create a poke bowl to your liking here!! I love salmon and mixed greens as my base, and this poke bowl did not disappoint! The salmon was so yummy. The seaweed salad was nice. Lots of fruit (love the mango & pineapple!), veggies (so many to choose from), and sauce options. As I sat down and enjoyed my poke bowl, I looked around and noticed just how beautiful the ambience is. The decor is nice, and adds a great touch. Seating is plentiful. And there's a very relaxing outdoor seating area, too. Overall, I'm so impressed with this poke place. It may be my fav!

I want to get a poke cup but i want to know if it's worth the 12$, how big is the poke cup?

Our 16 oz poke cup is priced at $9.24! The poke cup includes your choice of base, 1 protein, and 5 side toppings! With a rice base it is a great size for a lunch portion.

There was a mistake with one of our rolls, but the staff handled it well. They quickly remade the roll and brought us a replacement at no charge, which I really appreciated. One of the highlights was a custom roll with jalapeño, avocado, and asparagus. I added cream cheese and had it deep fried, and it honestly tasted like a sushi version of a jalapeño popper. It was absolutely amazing and something I would order again in a heartbeat. Overall, it was a great experience from start to finish. We had dinner here and it was both of our first-time. I really hate that I have to give this place a 4 but it's because the spicy edamame was not to my liking and they do not carry pineapple soju. The food is definitely a must try, especially the beautiful yellowtail sashimi. The seafood yakisoba was so delicious. I did not care much for the baked salmon roll, Love Sushi takes first place for that roll and Prime Sushi take first place for spicy edamame. The crazy tuna roll I ordered was so big! The crunchy pieces on top can stand to sit in some absorbing paper towels because they were a bit oily but went well with the Tuna dance. I personally did not care for the bluefin tuna. Overall my babe and I enjoyed our dinner and will most definitely return for more.

I'm glad we did, because it gave us a whole new feel for the place. Inside isn't massive, but it's not cramped either. Think of it like the Goldilocks of restaurant spaces: just right. The vibe leans calm and cozy, dim lighting, black walls, and splashes of color here and there. It's got that "peaceful sushi zen" atmosphere without being boring. Our waitress deserves a medal (or at least an extra roll on the house). She was the only one working the floor, yet somehow managed to be friendly, attentive, and efficient all at once. Multitasking level: expert. Now onto the food, which is really why we came back. We ordered a spread: two teriyaki chicken plates, one chicken ramen bowl, an order of sushi crunch rolls, egg rolls, a large pineapple sake, a beer, and two iced teas. (Yes, we came hungry. Don't judge.) Everything came out quickly, hot, and fresh. The chicken was juicy, the rice perfectly cooked, and the little bed of veggies under the teriyaki chicken was tender-crispy and surprisingly addictive. Whoever thought of tucking those under there deserves a raise. The ramen had bold flavors that hit the spot, and the sushi rolls lived up to their name, they really were crunchy and delicious. Now, the egg rolls. Let me tell you, these might just be the best I've ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and stuffed with flavor on the inside. The kind that makes you regret ordering only one plate. Drinks? The beer was cold (and surprisingly affordable), the iced teas were strong and refreshing, and the pineapple sake... well, it was different, let's just say it's not everyone's cup of tea. Personally, I'll stick to tequila, lol, but my husband happily claimed the sake as his new favorite. Win-win. Prices here are fair and budget-friendly, which is always nice to see at a sushi spot. The place was clean and well-kept, and I'm happy to say it still holds up just as well as when I ordered takeout years ago. Bottom line: Shoyu Sushi is still doing its thing, fresh food, good prices, relaxing vibe, and service that makes you feel taken care of. If you want sushi that crunches, teriyaki that comforts, and egg rolls that just might ruin all other egg rolls for you, this is the spot.
