This was my dad's favorite ice cream place growing up.However, the closest Kilwins we have in Jersey at least near me, is 40 minutes away in Westfield. So, when my family was visiting Delaware, and we found out we had a Kilwins in Rehoboth where we were staying we were excited. I really liked my ice cream. The flavors aren't actually anything special, but the flavors do taste good. I got the chocolate chip cookie dough, and the ice cream was really creamy. I wished that they put more chocolate chips in it. It tasted mostly like there was cookie dough in it. Staff isn't that friendly, and needs to hire more staff. Line was moving slowly, and there were only 2 workers. Despite these quibbles, I really enjoyed it! read more

Good ice cream and waffle cones, especially the chocolate and caramel options. Found the fudge to be overly 'sugary' (not sure how else to describe it) and not as rich and creamy as other fudge we've had. Flavor was just ok to us, but I know that also boils down to personal preference. Chocolates and candies are by the pound and a bit pricey but both the milk and dark chocolate were delicious. The caramel dipped apples look amazing but we didn't get to try them. Overall, a great place to satisfy your sweet tooth with a ton of options to choose from. read more

So much chocolate. This place smells so good when you come in here. Their fudge is hands over heels better than candy kitchen. I would say their stuff isn't as sweet and is more balanced. We got some candy turtles to go and they were FILLED with nuts and caramels. They don't skimp at all here. I will pay for a good quality product anytime. Stopped in today just right around the corner from good news natural foods and got a couple homemade chocolates for my husband for Valentine's Day! You walk in the store it smells delightful. Especially when you're walking by you see these giant caramel apples visible from the street! What a wonderful place to get homemade chocolate for little pricey but it's well worth it! read more

We like to come here while we are at the beach. We usually pick up some chocolates but mostly go for the ice cream which is just outstanding. I love the caramel apple with peanuts on it. The caramel is good quality not so sweet. The fudge is ridiculously super good! It's worth it to gain weight with these goodies they sell. Super good! Staff was super friendly and helpful. The ice cream was delicious. Got fudge to take home and me and my husband loved it. They also were very kind about my child who was a handful and then I had a bunch of stuff i was carrying and they let me set it all down on the front desk, I feel like most places give you an attitude in those types of situations so I appreciated the kindness and understanding. A nice change from the cotton candy, soft serves, or funnel cakes that you usually get at the beach. This dessert store has a lot to offer. I had a delicious chocolate caramel pretzel with pecans and It was so good I couldn't stop eating until it was all gone! I was tempted by the caramel turtles but I was too full from dinner to give in to those. The gazillion varieties of fudge and the ice creams in all flavours are all very appealing. I felt the love that goes Into all these pretty confections. The cute little shop is on the main street; the windows are bright and the display cases are very clean, making these goodies look even more appetizing! I will definitely return. read more

Their ice cream is out of this world. Better than king kone. I have tried a variety of ice cream from all over the world and I conclude that this was pretty close to the ice cream they serve in Europe. Full bodied in flavor, no nasty after taste (which you typically have with soft serve ice cream) and the level of sweetness is just wonderful! Fast, friendly and super creamy fudge...what more can you ask? Everything looked and smelled delicious and it was difficult to choose just one item but I knew I wanted plain, simple chocolate fudge. My friend tried the chocolate covered pretzel and loved her choice too. The smallest amount of fudge you can buy is a 1/2 slice. Buying "just a bite" isn't allowed... which let's be honest isn't what you really want to do anyway. Loved it. read more

First time here and I loved it!! We got the salted caramel ice cream and fudge brownie ice cream. Delicious. Both were creamy and thick. We were just walking on the sidewalk when we smelled the chocolate coming from the store. Our noses basically led us through the door and we couldn't resist. I felt like a drooling puppy haha. I got 2 chocolate bars, mint/dark chocolate covered oreos, and truffles to go. Everything was yummy but I still prefer the home-made ice cream. HOLY COW THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I'm from NJ so I assumed this place would be comparable to Steels Fudge.... but it's a whole new level. The moment you walk into Kilwin's the smell of chocolate CONSUMES you... in the best way possible. They let us try any fudge we wanted. We had a coupon for buy one get one free (we got 2 half pieces that counted as one). It was about $9 so very good prices... and it was AMAZING. The best fudge I ever had. Heavenly.... I have tried the blueberry waffle ice cream, heavenly hash ice cream, chocolate covered rice crispy, toffee bark, peanut butter cup, and heavenly hash. They all taste fresh, homemade, and so delicious! My favorites were the blueberry waffle ice cream and the toffee bark. Very, very good and open late! Definitely worth stopping by! read more

Winner, winner! This place is fantastic! Kilwin's makes their own fudge and chocolate which adds to the deliciousness of their deserts and made the kids (and parents) very happy. We each had ice cream cones and a piece of fudge and began to walk around the area. I love Kilwin's fudge but have only ever had it from their Charleston store before. Sadly, it isn't quite up to par here. The double dark salted caramel (which I've had, and enjoyed, before) was so salty it was inedible, which was hugely disappointing for my palate and my wallet. I ended my vacation by visiting this shop last week to buy treats for my office staff. Hands down, this is the best caramel popcorn and taffy that I HAVE EVER HAD! We were lured in by the limited time offering of salted caramel ice cream. It was amazing, get it before it's gone. We've been coming to Rehoboth for the past 6 summers and this was the first time we've stopped in Kilwin's. This is what a candy store is supposed to be. Hands down the BEST Carmel apple with pecans I have ever had in my life! I stopped in here with my sister to grab a sweet treat before leaving Rehoboth to come home. The first thing you notice as you walk into this heavenly place is the aroma of AMAZING desserts! They have huge marble slabs all over the place covered in fresh fudge and Carmel apples! They also have cases of gourmet chocolate Candy's and cookies, amazing ice cream, fudge and much more. The staff is so friendly and helpful. To my surprise they had a special going on for 1.00 off Carmel apples! The sales girl also offered to cut the apple into sections for easier consumption, what great service! My sister ordered a small cone with the toasted coconut ice cream which she said was exceptional. Can't wait to come back for another amazing Carmel apple and some freshly made fudge. read more

Their caramel apples are to die for, not to monition they make some very interesting flavors. Best fudge (and im not even a huge fan of fudge), always a big verity of flavors. The Sea Salt Caramel ice cream is possibly the best ice cream I've ever had anywhere. It's so good I've never ordered anything else and I've been there at least a half a dozen times. If you're at the beach you have to stop in there. The guy who runs it is the man. Really nice guy. read more

The wide variety of sweets -- mostly made here, where it's fun to watch the staff putting finishing touches on creations -- included caramel apples with several types of toppings and several flavors of rich fudge and amazing, creamy, flavorful ice cream. Everything I tried was excellent, but the ice cream was the champion to me and a definite reason I will return over and over. Be 'warned': the sample sizes are healthy portions in their own right, and a "single" scoop of ice cream is much more like a double scoop in most places! (Did I mention that it was sooooo good?)
