I love kimbap. So much so that I had at least one every day on my last trip to South Korea. I was in the mood for some kimbap and saw this place was pretty highly rated. I ordered the bulgogi kimbap online and brought it back to the hotel to enjoy. Overall, the quality of the ingredients was very good, however it was lacking sesame oil that I think makes a kimbap a kimbap. Instead, they include a mayo-based dip, which is interesting but not usually what I'm thinking of as an accompaniment for kimbap. I might try it again if I'm in the area but it didn't wow me enough that I'd make a special trip out to get kimbap again. There are much better kimbaps in town. Most of the food was decent but we noticed some of the rolls had very bitter pieces of cucumber in them that ruined 2 sets of our rolls. I got the bulgogi kimpap for 11 dollars which wasnt a bad price. The lady was really sweet when i asked for no cucumber or carrots. The bulgogi was sweet and really flavorful and it was really filling. I really liked the sou garlic ricecakes and would get them again. They were only five bucks. Kingbob was honestly very good! We tried a couple different kimbaps (the kimchi and the bulgolgi) and the soy and garlic boneless chicken. Everything we had was quite delicious. I definitely preferred the bulgolgi kimbap over the kimchi one since I think it had a little more pizzazz and was a little more interesting for the tastebuds. I definitely commend the chicken "wings" because they were super tender and the soy garlic was delicious! It was definitely a dark meat but they were also pretty sizeable chunks so even a half order was very filling! I also really appreciated the seaweed soup that was complementary to the kimbap. Despite it being such a hot day, the broth was still very comforting and soul warming. Our lunch cost about $34 so all said and done, I would consider that good value. read more
