Decided to come here for national margarita day and was not disappointed. The food was as great as ever and the service was honestly very quick. My group had ordered the passion fruit margarita and we loved them, they weren't very sweet and tasted delicious. Fusion food can be a hit or miss but Kimchichanga never misses, I got the loaded nachos with tofu and they were amazing. you could get them as a starter to share or just as your meal. Definitely something to check out earlier in the day as it can be a bit heavy & if you're one that's prone to heartburn easily, definitely avoid going last minute as I did but over all the food was really good! We were passing through to drop my family off to LA. Been here a few times and never had any issues, until today. We got a few items, and they messed up two teriyaki bowls, when I called I spoke to someone named Sean and he said, "only one." I reiterated that it was two items. He went on to say, well did you eat it? I mentioned that, even though they ate some of it, they picked around and didn't touch the meat (we were given chicken, not pork). We told him we can send him a picture as proof that we were given chicken, not pork and he hung up on us. I've worked in a restaurant before and understand how some customers can be difficult at times, but messing up an order and refunding or offering some other solution is not difficult. Especially if the error is from the restaurant's end. Haggling on what they prefer to refund and hanging up is just not it. read more

I have never had a Korean/Mexican fusion before and this place was a pleasant surprise! When I was suggested Kimchichanga, I honestly did not know what to expect to be on the menu. I ended up ordering mushroom poppers and two KBBQ tacos with spicy pork. The mushroom poppers were crispy and was stuffed spicy imitation crab. It was paired with a sauce that was both tangy and sweet. For the tacos, it was like mexican street tacos with a twist. It has shredded cabbage on top and came with their house salsa. The salsa itself was not spicy to me, but still paired well. The super nachos were also ordered to share as well! Nachos were tasty! I wish there was more meat but I believe you can order extra if you wanted to! Good spot to hit up if you're ever near UCR and are hungry. read more

Not Bad, as a Korean, I have to say the Kogi (beef) Taco was tasty and tender. KimChi Fried Rice was a bit unusual, more Mexcan flavors but not bad for me, my Ecuadoriana Wife thought is more like Chala Fan spanish style fried rice but she ate it all :-) Chips and Salsa freakin YUMMY. Rude staff and that could care less about the success of this business. This is probably the 10th business in this location in the past 5 years in this plaza. Nobody keeps up with the sales and maybe exposure as they should. Let me start by saying this one won't make it either. Last week around Tuesday May 24th. They show they close at 10 pm online. We drive out and arrive at 9:30 pm. We kindly ask if we could order and already prepared to get take out. The university plaza has patio seating. Many businesses in the area stay open later to accommodate the students. The hostess that greeted us immediately said we close at 10. Not hi not approach us saying hi guys we only do take out. So we said can we do take out ? She said yes but the wait is thirty minutes. So we said ok no worries. Can we wait the thirty minutes and pay for a drink while we wait. She asked someone else and they said no we close at 10. So basically we could order but not get a drink while we waited. Again here goes the business down the drain. It's more income it's about keeping good vibes to keep up the good word. Won't be back won't last good luck business owners especially with that staff. Something was different with my last visit. I've been going to Kimchichanga for many years now (yes, the old location), the food has always been good, but this last time was off. It wasn't busy when I walked in, in fact, not a single person dining in, but the Kimchichanga lacked freshness. It's hard to explain, maybe it wasn't as sauced up like normal, it definitely didn't have a spicy kick. Yes, I took it to go, but it was a short distance, and it wasn't as steaming hot like I'm used to. Previous to this visit, I tried to place an order via phone, and was told it would be a 1 hr wait! I was already nearby, so I did a drive by look and it wasn't busy. So, I walked inside, placed my order and was out in less than 15 minutes! Something isn't right here, I want the old Kimchichanga back, give me some fresh food with spice, flavor and personality! I'm debating on if I am through with this restaurant, or do I give it one more try and hope to not be disappointed. We decided to check this place out due to the positive reviews. I ordered 2 tacos (spicy pork and beef; both were recommended by the cashier lady) and a bulgolgi burrito. The tacos were decent, a bit on the dry side for my taste. The spicy pork wasn't too spicy so give it a try even if you can't handle spicy food. I think I paid $1 for each one, so I guess I can't complain too much. The burrito was alright. I wish they gave more meat because it was literally packed w/ rice and some kimchi. The burrito was also dry, it could have been better w/ more meat to give it a juicier texture. Overall, this place was alright. I've been to a bunch of Korean-Mexican fusion places and this place does a decent job w/ the combination of flavors. I was excited to try Korean Fusion Tacos but left disappointed after coming here for lunch. When I arrived, there was a line that went out toward the door. I figured, "wow, this place must be a really great lunch spot!" The menu hovers above the side wall so it was a little difficult to read while waiting in line. They offer a variety of "fusion" eats such as tacos, burritos, chimichangas, bowls, etc. The cashier takes your orders from the counter. It makes it a bit awkward when ordering because they also have a printed menu at the register so you're left to quickly scan the menu. It was a Thursday when I came in and they were offering a $0.99 taco special. I like options so I ordered 4 different tacos: Galbi (Short Rib), Bulgogi, Fish, and Spicy Chicken. I felt that the wait was longer than expected for 4 tacos and ended up having to take my order to go so I can finish it at the office. I took a bite of each taco and each lacked flavor! All I could taste was sriracha and flavorless meats with lettuce and a floppy corn tortilla. Typically what you'd find in most tacos but the ingredients just didn't go well. The texture of the flappy corn tortilla was not appetizing. Sad to say I didn't finish it all! Of the 4, I did feel that the fish tacos were the best but generally just "par" in comparison to most tacos I've had in the vicinity.
