I cannot even think of the right words to express my appreciation and gratitude for how well Naomi held the fort down. She was working all the tables solo, inside and outside. She is fast! Handles the customers and food with care without skipping a beat on the professionalism. Even when things seemed stressful, the smile and drive never died. The food, while good, did not stand out to me. The plates come out looking very worthy, minimal surface space showing of the plate itself, healthy portions offered. The food to price ratio was all there but the taste to price ratio was slanted. Our plates offered a filling meal but lacked anything special with flavor. I was going to have lunch with some friends, and one of my friends mentioned this restaurant. It's a charming little restaurant with several tables and chairs as well as seating at the counter. I ordered the Garlic Chicken Wrap. One friend ordered the BLT and upgraded to Onion Rings. I asked the server if the onion rings were made fresh. She checked with the chef and informed me that they weren't made fresh. So, I opted for the French Fries. My other friend ordered the Patty Melt. My Garlic Chicken Wrap was delicious! It was huge! I tasted my friend's onion rings, and they were pretty good. I really didn't care for my French Fries as I prefer them to be crispy. We got the breakfast bowl which is eggs and ham drowned in chilly. It has some nice spice to it. I would definitely recommend it. The portion is great for all! If you're not a big eatter than I would recommend sharing but I don't think you will go hungry! The staff is super friendly and helpful with recommendations. The tables are well spacedout. We hadn't been here in years, but we were super excited about going this morning and couldn't have been happier with our breakfast or our experience. The service was spectacular. I had this delicious menu item called 'Avacado Holiday'! It's a split English muffin both topped with the freshest, avocado and tomato with perfectly done poached eggs. But the icing on the cake, poached eggs, lol, was there hollandaise sauce! It's better than any I've ever had in boy I've had a lot. My extra crispy hashbrowns were perfect. My daughter opted for scrambled eggs, perfectly crisp, bacon, and the most delicious biscuits and gravy ever. Unfortunately we were starving and talking too much and didn't take one picture. This is a quaint cozy coffee shop. Has a small counter, indoor tables or patio. The front doesn't look like much, so you might miss it driving by. My sister & I got there early during the week. As we left we noticed how busy it had gotten. So, I'm sure there's a line on weekends . It's worth it. I would think the line moves fast because the service is so good. The waitresses keep the coffee cups full . I never had to flag anyone down for a top off. Breakfast came out hot and fast. I finally found a balanced breakfast spot. Today was not good. My potatoes were burnt and the beef on a sandwich was over overlooked. It seems to me that the cook is overworked and the restaurant is hot so the kitchen must be an inferno. No wonder the cook just does not care anymore. The staff is amazing. But it is not cheap to eat here. The least they can do is prepare the food right. I love them all but the owner does not care for this place or the patrons. As long as she get her money the place can fall apart. Poor management. Have you seen the air vents? They look like they have not been cleaned I years, just take a look around and you will see that this place is dirty. Please clean it up save your customers. Do something good for this place and us. Kimmie's Coffee Cup is a cute cafe with grandma vibes and decor. It is small and quaint but the wait to get seated was fast (5 min around 11:45am). It felt like the food took a while to come out but all of our food came out at the same time :) We liked all of our dishes: Avocado and Holiday, Mexican Scramble, and the Classic Corn Beef Hash. My husband and I used to love coming to Kimmie's for breakfast & decided to stop in after a few years of not eating here. The service is still great per usual but the food is extremely bland for the price they are charging per plate. I got my daughter a Silver Dollar Plate and the moment I tore the pancakes into tiny pieces I knew I was not coming back here. The pancakes were so tough and hard to pull apart, it reminded me of the frozen pancakes at the grocery store you heat up in the microwave. Her meal also came with juice or milk, which was not given to us & I didn't realize until after we got home. My Benedict was plain & lacked flavor. My husbands eggs tasted weird. The only thing that we thought was just OK was his Cinnamon Roll French Toast. It also looks like they start to nickel & dime things, but like I said, I haven't been here in a few years & I just don't remember/think that they charged for using a credit card or other items on their menu. Thankfully the weather was comfortable because large parties must seat themselves on the patio in the back. The inside is a bit cramped but looks cozy. The menu was pretty extensive for breakfast, along with some lunch options. I ordered the chorizo & eggs, and the bread pudding french toast to split with somebody. The chorizo in the chorizo and eggs lacked spice, which was disappointing for the normally flavorful sausage. The tortillas tasted very fresh and to my surprise they're premade! The bread pudding french toast was everything Ive ever dreamed of. Absolutely delicious, not too sweet, wonderfully moist. I didn't even use the syrup because it was too tasty! Amazing service, we had to sign in and wait to be seated because it was a little busy, completely understandable it was a weekend.My gf and I both loved how as soon as we signed in, one of the waitresses said that if once we were seated if we would like a water bowl for our dog, or if we wanted it now while we waited. One poor service doesn't change my mind. I still enjoy the food and the cuteness of the cottage restaurant. Although there were three servers on this Sunday shift, only one was productive. I went without cream for my coffee until the coffee was too cold to drink and my husband's soft drink went unfilled during most of our breakfast. I was really hoping it would be like the old days... Good food and good service. We live in the neighborhood and decided to walk down and have lunch. This review is strictly about food. It was just meh which makes me sad because quality used to be their thing. I got the beef dip which was more like a beef jerky dip. The meat was dry and tasteless. I had to literally soak it in the as jus just to chew it. I didn't complain because it's really the cook's fault and I don't want spit in my food. We had THE BEST breakfast experience at Kimmie's last yesterday. We enjoyed the most delicious meals and service from three very cheery and pleasant servers. My order of the Country Benedict was SO AMAZING and it was a very large serving, really actually two breakfasts for me. My boyfriend enjoyed the Kimmie's style sausage patty and eggs, perfect in every way, including a gigantic serving of Kimmie's yummy sausage patty, so large that he brought half of it home. Big plus too was being able to bring our pup with us and enjoy our breakfast together in the back patio area. I have to admit that we have avoided this location for several years because of previous issues with really bad service here but clearly things have improved to five stars for us, in fact, we'd rate higher if it was possible. Food is as great, a bit pricey but yummy and fresh. The service was absolutely awful. Our server acted as if we were putting her out. She overcharged us for an extra drink and when we asked her to correct it she was rude and said "do you want me to just give you all separate checks?" We said no we just want the extra drink taken off, she grabbed the check to go do it, we said thank you and she said nothing. My cousins and I went here couple weeks ago. Since we went right at opening, there was a lot of people already there. The inside was full so we decided to sit in the patio. They had the heater stands but they weren't turned on. Food: +Chicken and Biscuit Benedict: The portion was huge! The gravy had a nice peppery taste to it. Also the fried chicken was crispy even when it was smothered in gravy. I had a side of hash browns, extra cripsy. + Breakfast Quesadilla: My cousin ordered this. I didnt get to try it but it did come out in a big portion. She ate half and was able to go the rest home. +Kimmie's combo: My other cousin got the belgium waffles instead of pancakes. Literally just completed a review for another food location and thought of Kimmie's and looked... realizing I have never completed a review for the few times I've been here and I HAD to come do one immediately. Kimmie's is literally phenomenal. I came once years ago, when I lived in the IE and my cousin lived in BP. At that time, only this location in Fullerton was open. I just remember it being sooooo good. Fast forward maybe 6 years and now I live in BP. I brought a friend here and we came close to opening so we got a parking spot in the back. We were seating right away and the service was amazing, as always. We both got an order of the Eggs Benedict and French toast to split. I forgot the portion sizes (or they serve them bigger now) so we didn't even tough the French toast and took it home for later. Literally the best breakfast spot. If I had the money to go there everyday for breakfast, I absolutely would!!! For the price, and the portions you get too-it's a steal! And I appreciate that because they don't make you overpay and give you the bare minimum like some places do. I don't leave feeling ripped off or guilty about what I spent. The service is always great and I love the atmosphere. Just a cute little spot! Parking isn't the greatest so just beware when going.
