They wasted my whole day. Owner refused to listen to what the problem is or what I want to get fixed. They just insisted on doing a diagnostic on figuring out the problem. They told me to leave my car, write down my name and number, and that they'll be calling me later. That happened at around 9am. 11:30 am, No calls back. 1:30 pm, no calls back. So I called. No one is answering. 3:30 pm same thing. No call and they're not answering their phone. 4:30 pm, I go there. I asked if my car was fixed? Employees don't know who I am nor where's my car is. Owner apparently left home early. Never told his employees about my car. So from 9am to 4:30 pm, they just ignored this stranger car at their garage with the window open. A COMPLETE waste of my day. read more

Happy to be finding a local Korean owned auto repair shop around my neighborhood. Kim was very nice and accommodating as I was here for my car's smog check. The process was quick and simple although there were many cars already in garages in fixes. Waiting area is kind of small right in their main office but not a big factor for me. read more

I went to get oil change. After oil change THE OIL STARTED TO LEAK INSIDE. Also, it started to make squeeking noise. I called and asked why my car is making weird noises and the oil is leaking inside. He said "so what do you want me to do". Unlike David, I know how to put fuel in my truck. After the truck refused to start and I checked the battery, I towed it to Kims. Kim told me my fuel pump was broken and it needed to be replaced. I had the work done at a reasonable price and my truck has worked the way it should ever since. I had Kim show me my old pump, after finding with it, I could see the malfunction and was glad it was replaced. Just about every mechanic will assume you can read the fuel gauge and will try everything else to figure out why your car won't start. This is a respectable and long standing business. read more

I am not from this area, and rarely make my way down to Chino. I am from Orange County and have an established mechanic that I always take my car to. I had been negligent and was almost 1k over my past due oil change and to top it off, I 'thought' my brakes were going bad, because every time I turned, my wheels made a slight squeaking noise --- the situation had gotten worse while I was driving around in Chino that day. Paranoid that this might affect my drive home, I searched on yelp for nearby auto shops (there are a ton around this area), anyways Kim's was less than a mile away so I opt'd to go in. Andrew took me in and was friendly throughout the process, the mechanics quickly figured out that it was my power steering and not my brakes. They changed my oil and my power steering fluid and charged me a reasonable price. Couldn't have asked for more, given my situation, and I am glad I took a chance and came in. read more

This is a great place to get your car smog checked. Rudy does a fast job and has helped me to diagnose a O2 sensor issue I had with our Toyota Highlander. They didn't do the work but were patient while I got the problem fixed, it was a recall in the sensor that we received two weeks after we initially took it in to get smog checked. I took my car to Kim and he told me he will fix my problem of my four explored I had a leak in my gas hose and Fuel Pressure Regulator and I picked it up I only had this car for four days and the check engine light came on the same thing it was doing before. Please do not take your car here. When this happened my husband lost his job we where financially in despair. we told Kim of our financial problem. I took in my 2001 Altima the owner Kim said he would fix problem, when he was done and charged us 900.00 for the job. On the way home the car had the same problem. 2nd time we took in our Altima Kim said he would fix, when he was done he charged us 450.00. When we drove it home it had the same problem. By this time my husband and I where Leary of taking it back to Kim which we should of listened to our instincts, we still did not fix the problem, to make a long story short , every time we took our altima back to Kim he kept taking our car apart looking for the problem and every time he did he charged us. We paid 2,500.00 by the time it was over and in the end Kim still did not fix the problem! We finally took our Altima to this shop in chino called the care shop, the owner was able to find and fix the problem immediately. And we paid a lot less then what we paid Kim. I recommend you do not take your car to Kim's master shop, I do recommend you go to the care shop in chino on central. I live in chino and every time I pass by Kim's master shop I physically get sick to my stomach remembering what Kim did to us. read more

Crooks I tell you what ! My truck shut off on me and would not start. Took it to Kims "master" auto repair. They told me my fuel pump was dead. so I took it back home to fix it myself.The fuel pump is in the gas tank so I started to drop the tank and realized it was empty. put some gas in and she started right up. I put the tank back in and have driven this truck well over 50,000 miles since. STAY AWAY GRIFTERS HERE!!! read more

Kim's Master Auto Repair may not be as flashy and modern-looking as some, but Kim and his mechanics are very knowledgeable and thorough and their quality of work is outstanding--all while keeping the costs at a reasonable level. They are not out to rip you off. I took my 1994 Ford F-350 motorhome in for smog test at a local "test only" shop. I was informed it could not test because of a misfire. I am more than familiar with automotive engines and repairs, but I do not have the desire or special diagnostic tools to do this job, especially in such a confined space as in a motorhome (the V8 engine sits right in the center of the firewall). Please note that this year truck does not have a computer to help with the diagnostic; it all has to be done the old fashioned way--trial and error and experience. I knew this was not going to be easy to solve, this type of problems can be very elusive to find. I took my motor home to Kim's Master Auto Repair in Chino, for diagnostics. Kim started with the most logical, least expensive items first. Slowly and methodically, Kim and his mechanics started testing everything they could test and replacing a few small items that might be causing the issue and even a few additional at my direction. Still no conclusive cause for the misfire. One major thing that impressed me was that they tested suspect items, rather than the normal course of action--just replacing things one by one. This replace and test practice can get very expensive. Kim and his staff worked for four whole days trying to diagnose and repair the problem. They were very determined. Every time I went by the shop, Kim and or his mechanics were up under the hood or in the cab testing something. Keep in mind that most things require removal of several other things just to get where you want to go. I was worried I would get hit with a huge bill, but Kim explained he would only charge me for a diagnostic and not the amount of time it takes to make that diagnostic. When all was said and done, they found a couple of issues that worked hand in hand causing the miss fire. This dual problem eluded them in initial testing because the individual items seemed to check okay, but were not functioning together as they were supposed to. They replaced the two parts and smogged the motorhome. It passed with flying colors and runs better than it has in years. The best part is, true to his word, Kim did not charge me for the 20-30 man hours it took to figure out the problem. The cost was very, very reasonable. I am sure a dealer would have cost me a couple thousand. I will continue to use Kim's shop for my repairs. read more

I wish I could give this place a 0! Took my car for smog today, and my car is lowered, however they attempted to remove my bumper off my car and in the process yanked off my bracket along with it, denting the fender from the bracket area. My bumper now hangs from the side and they admitted fault but said they won't pay for it. I am beyond upset and frustrated at how a business can cause damage to a customer's vehicle and not own up to it. Just because you have a disclaimer sign does not give you the right to damage somebody's vehicle. I will be contacting my attorney and filing a report on this business. This is unacceptable. I am at over $1,000 in damages on my vehicles due to this business's negligence. Also if the car is too low and you know it won't pass through the rack, then why do the job. I am at complete loss due to their mistakes. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU WANT DAMAGE ON YOUR VEHICLE! read more
