Ate here many times. Good food, especially appetizers are delicious. But number of times, I ask NO cilantro...but forgets many times. Problem is, they take it back in and seem to bring back same original bowl. Because I still find pieces. Few days ago same thing happened. Guy noticed and took it back in. And few minutes later, different lady brings two bowl. What frustrated me was that my son and I both found pieces again. And noodles also were over cooked as it sits in hot soup for minutes, while they take out pieces of cilantro with who know what...spoon? Chopsticks? Or finger??? The most important thing to me in a good bowl of Pho Ga - is a rich, flavorful, chicken broth, with a bit of complexity. This broth achieved none of these things. The bowl came out steaming away, the broth itself had a cloudy quality to it. I tasted the broth. prior to adding the plate of aromatics: bean sprouts, jalapeños, lime, and Basil. The broth was rather on the light side from a flavor perspective. Adding the aromatics did little to improve it. Adding a good bit of Sriracha sauce to it - made it about as good as it was going to be. The chicken was tender, and the plate of aromatics was crisp and fresh. But the broth was just "meh." This is my go-to spot for Pho delivery, but my favorite item on the menu may be the cilantro lime chicken salad. The grilled chicken is just fantastic. Wonderful bits of char. Great marination. They have since classed it up a bit, adding fancy menu items like Pho with filet mignon, swapping out some of the furniture and decor to create a more upscale vibe, and raising the prices on all menu items by at least a dollar. There are good changes too. They have happy hour pricing (40 percent off alcohol and some cheaper apps) and done if the seats are more comfortable. It's still very convenient, service is fast, and it's extremely family friendly. There are booths so it's easy to take my baby. Really nice inside and very busy at 12.30. The differing seating areas and different chairs makes for a very cozy first impression. I ordered take out Banh Mi today (grilled pork). Wow - $15.13?? That's a LOT. The baguette is terrific, soft and warm, and the sandwich is a foot long! But there is just not enough pickled veg and cilantro AT ALL. And they are sorely, sorely missed to cut the richness of the pork and mayo. This was hugely disappointing and to top it off - no pate. I would call this a grilled pork sub. If I go back, I will definitely ask for more garnish, but I really want the real deal - pate and all, so i don't know if I will be back. To charge the banh mi that much and send undercooked pale bread is a crime. Not crispy, soggy. Too expensive for what it is.

There are two things you should know about me: I'm humble and a pho connoisseur. I love pho, pho restaurants and pho restaurant names. And Kim's pho... it sets the standard for pho restaurants in the DMV area. I think about their yummy soup broth all the time, it's unphogettable. But everything on their menu is amazing, so go hungry and get adventurous because you can't go wrong. Vermicelli bowl is fire, their crispy rolls are addictive, the lemongrass chicken is life-changing, and that beer on tap ("raging bitch") is a great way to wash it all down. Also, Kim and her colleagues at the restaurant are very friendly, and the whole team makes the dining experience all the better. The ambience is more upscale than your typical pho shop, but hey nothing's wrong with that! It's true, it's a few dollars more than competitors, but those extra dollars are well-spent. This is a little hidden gem and I'm definitely going back!!! We had a mango smoothie with the little bubbles (my first time) it as really good. For appetizer we got a summer roll the portion was big they definitely mind giving you large portions (I have no problem with that). We also ordered the seafood pho largest size and that was amazing. I'm a fan of Vietnamese cuisine. Stopped here at Kim's intending to get a Bahn Mi for lunch but since I had the time and it was a dreary day, Pho was the better choice. I haven't had Pho in a long time, partly because I haven't been eating out as much since COVID but it was nice to get back to that soulful bowl. Of all the pho I've had in northern Virginia over the years, this one has to be the best I've had. I ordered the signature meat pho dish, large. First thing to note before adding Sriracha or Hoisin is the broth--it is absolutely delicious as is and because it was, I was very sparing on the addition of Sriracha. I don't know how others eat Pho but I hold the spoon in my left hand filled with a bit of hoisin and dip the meat in with the chopsticks in my right hand. Once the hoisin is out after a few bites of meat, go to the broth and get some vegetables and noodles, rinse and repeat. Some places that serve pho are sparing on the meat contents. I was surprised to find my bowl had a good portion of cuts! Everything was delicious and I finished the entire bowl. I talked with one of the employees, perhaps it was the owner and complemented the meal and learned that she brought back the beautiful bowls from Vietnam. This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the dc area! It's family owned and the food is so flavorful. I've literally been coming here for the last 9 years. The family are the sweetest bunch of people. You can't go wrong with any of the dishes here. Food is good however service is continuously rude. 3 years ago I stopped going because of two reasons- 1 being I asked for an avocado smoothie and they told me they were out. Next customer arrives and orders the avocado smoothie and they gave it to him! 2nd being we were rudely turned away when we came 30 min before closing. Came here after seeing it on Instagram. Date night. Ordered Vietnamese BBQ and Taro fries and husband got what our server called their signature dish. I was given Steak and Eggs. I would not ever order steak and eggs at a restaurant as the combo doesn't appeal to me so I don't understand how this was confused with what I did order which was the BBQ. The server insisted I ordered this as that's why she asked me if I wanted bread. I should have just left since it was clear I wasn't being heard. I most certainly did not order this. How was I supposed to know that bread wasn't just something for the table? Food comes and husbands looks great. Mine did not. The eggs were crispy on the bottom but strings of very undercooked whites on top and swimming in grease. The "steak" was a very thin piece of meat that was so peppery it was not pleasant to eat at all. For $29. Our order of taro fries was forgotten but eventually brought out. They were ok. I don't know if it's the Uber drivers or the restaurants that are having issues because in the past two months, it's either my order was delivered to the wrong address or never came at all, now missing items. I ordered through Uber eats tonight and the restaurant forgot my drinks. Uber eats refunded $20, but my tip is still the same. I couldn't take too back because it wasn't the driver's fault I called him and he said that he only got the bag of food and no drinks. I used to go here when it was Pho Deluxe, so when my family kept mentioning Kim's Pho on Fairfax Blvd, I soon realized it was rebranded - but that's not a bad thing! So yes, the menu did get revamped and the prices did go up a little. But the decor and space are actually pretty homey now! From hearing what my family has said about their orders and what I have personally tried so far, it seems that the menu items besides pho are the better options here. I definitely recommend the Bun Cha Hanoi (deconstructed vermicelli bowl) - but if that's too big of a portion for you, the Bun Thit Nuong (vermicelli bowl) is a good alternative as well with the same ingredients. Banh Xeo (Vietnamese crepe), Bo Luc Lac (shaky beef), and Ca Kho To (claypot salmon) are also other delicious options! Delicious! If you like Pho and haven't tried the Imperial Noodle soup (Bún bò Huế), it's time to level up. Thicker rice noodles than pho's vermicelli with a slightly spicy broth. I want to start this off by saying I try my best not to write negative reviews because I know the impact it has on restaurants but the experience & service I received this past Sunday at Kim's Pho was unacceptable. Overall, the service was really slow even though the restaurant was not busy at the time, items that we ordered came out incomplete, and we asked for specific things it would take forever for our waiter or the individuals that helped the waiter to come back. When they would come back, they would state, "oh we forgot about it"and then again take forever to get us the items we asked for. I want to highlight two incidents that happened that I hope that members of the restaurant can learn from going forward. There was a point in time where one of the owners (I believe they were one of the owners) of the restaurant came to take our orders because our waiter was at another table and we had four members in our party. She goes around and asks each member what they would like for an appetizer, and they would answer, and when it came time for me to answer which appetizer I would like, she completely ignored me and walked away as if I wasn't eating at the restaurant. I didn't think much of it because I thought maybe she thinks I don't want anything. I grabbed her attention as she was walking away and asked her if I can order an avocado smoothie, instead of an appetizer (I did not in fact ever receive the avocado smoothie). We did receive all of our food otherwise, I do want to say that the food that did come tasted great. At the end of our meal when we went up to pay for our food, one of the members of my party went up before I did to pay her portion of the meal and the same lady that had originally take our appetizers apologized profusely to her about forgetting her drink, I spoke up and told her I was the one that did not receive their drink. She then dismissed me and didn't acknowledge that I had stated that my drink was missing and continued to talk to my friend that was in front of me and ask if she wanted her avocado smoothie remade, even though it wasn't her's. Once my friend had paid, and it was my turn to pay for my meal, it seemed as though she was irritated that I had stepped up to the cash register, and did not even ask me what I had ordered and she refused to look at me, just kinda tossed the receipt at me, and I signed tipped (which I wish I hadn't, but I always leave tip regardless of service it will just be a low one) She did not ask me whether or not, I wanted my drink remade or acknowledge the fact that I was missing part of my meal that I had ordered (she did in fact remove that part of the meal, but to not even ask if I still wanted one was a huge disappointment for me.) I would like to say that I will no longer be dining at this restaurant given the experience that I received last Sunday. I'm not asking for anything, I just hope that going forward the staff treat everybody with respect and acknowledge everybody's presence. read more

People are trying to do their best after the pandemic to help their business but not here. If you want a small bowl of soup come with your rice, dont come here. They will charge you $5/small bowl. Can you believe it? Other restaurant, they give it to you for free but here, they will charge you $5. Unbelievable! If you want to charge your customer that much money with just a small water with a lot of MSG and called it's soup, you should let your customer know that it will be $5/each. Summary: This place is legit within walking distance to my condo so I go a lot. I like Pho, I eat Pho. This place has good Pho. Super simple. I prefer to take out because while it's a nice restaurant, the staff seems to linger over zealously offering attention while you eat. If you want a treat, I recommend the freshly squeeze lemonade. Otherwise then that, if you want good Pho take out- this is the spot at Fairfax circle. Oh additionally, if you get drunk mid afternoon at Fast Eddies next door, the Pho will sober you up. Extraordinary! It's really the best word I can think of to describe this place. I don't even live in Virginia, I just go there often to visit family. But every time I visit, I can't leave without having a meal at Kim's because of its freshness and excellent execution every single time. The servers are friendly and helpful, and the menu is full of beautiful pictures, making it easy to select what you'd like to have, even if you're unfamiliar with Vietnamese cuisine. To boot, the decor is ultra tasteful and welcoming. It's a place suitable to come either with a group for a relaxing lunch/dinner, or on a quiet romantic date. On every account- in terms of what you want out of a restaurant experience- Kim's is on point. Their prices are very reasonable, and you'll walk out of there every time telling your meal companions that you will want to return. We even converted my in-laws who live there and are relatively conservative on their meal preferences. They tell us that they now order take out from Kim's at least weekly because they are hooked on the soups and fresh dishes Kim's offers! Now that's a feat! But don't take my word for it. My brother and I stopped here for lunch yesterday to try their Bun Cha Hanoi. This was on a recommendation from my brother's barber. When we arrived we could not find this dish on the menu. We asked our waiter about it, and he said oh yes we definitely have that. So, we placed our order and waited with anticipation. When the dish arrived, it looked exactly as we expected. Three years ago the two of us went on vacation to Vietnam and discovered this dish in Hanoi. Kim's version most closely represents what we tried in Hanoi. The meat in the broth for dipping included sliced pork and small pork patties -just like in Hanoi. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is really nice. It's well decorated and very comfortable. Our waiter was attentive and very friendly. Solid 4 stars. Will definitely be back to try regular menu items here. My family and I are regulars at this location! After management/the name changed a couple of things became different, but the food is still incredibly solid. In my opinion the cons mainly have to do with things other than the food, like how the tables are very crowded with a box holding sauces and utensils that you have to set out for yourself. Service can be spotty and not super friendly in the way you'd expect it to be. They can be pretty curt and often forget to bring us water, but I've found that they're nice in their own way? These things don't bother me enough not to come back for the food though! I've had a lot of (cannot make it to Falls Church all the time) variations of the beef pho, which I love. I think the broth is the best within the immediate vicinity , it's very flavorful and hearty without being overly greasy or shallow in flavor/tasting like a lot of salt or msg. They also KILL with their grilled pork. I dream about the grilled pork. Anything it comes in is gold. I've gotten it in a rice platter and in vermicelli bowls and it is SO GOOD. The vermicelli bowls are awesome - the spring rolls are always deliciously hot and crispy, and the bowls are filled with nice fresh veggies and noodles. The deep fried fish is also freaking good, if you don't mind working with a whole fish, and the shaky beef is good too. Spring rolls are always good in a fried way, but my favorite roll with them is the autumn roll. If you want a student discount you have to make it really clear and know that it won't cover the whole bill - just whoever has an ID.
