Very yummy South Asian food; they operate out of a convenience store at a gas station. But don't let that put you off! There are chairs and tables for sitting; we got takeout though. We didn't try the Gyros or Cheesesteaks. We got butter chicken, chana masala, muttar paneer, and dal, plus the garlic naan and cucumber raita. All of them were very tasty. The one star off is because the ratio of sauce to "stuff" was off---too much sauce, not enough veggies/meat/cheese, etc. The people serving us were very kind. I love gas station restaurants and have eaten at multiple diamond in the rough establishments. This place has potential to be very good and a nice add on to locals and/or tourists in Sturgeon Bay. None the less the reasoning for 3 star rating is there seems to be a lot of microwaving/reheating the food to make the sandwich. One thing that always makes me weary is hearing microwave beeps/doors closing. We had lamb kefta roll, which had good flavors and good spice, but the meat ratio was disproportionate to the size of the pita/wrap/roti. The chicken tikka roll but asked for it to be a salad. Again flavors were good but the chicken tikka didn't seem to be made in a tandoori or even grilled. The tikka didn't appear to be marinated and grilled, but cooked in a sort of sauce? I get this place is small scale gas station but Hope they are able to work through these small slaws. read more

We went here based on Yelp reviews. Believe the hype, the gyro was amazing! ...it is in the Mobil gas station in downtown Sturgeon Bay. Wonderful fresh ingredients, friendly and helpful workers, and delicious gyro meat! We will remember this place when we visit Door County! read more

Long time customer, first time reviewer. I have had almost everything on their menu, it's all very tasty. Their gyros are phenomenal along with their Philly cheesesteak sandwich, they use lamb meat right off the spit (used in the gyro and their lamb Indian cuisine). If you're ever visiting Door County, WI, located inside a Mobil gas station, you'll find something very surprising: Indian cuisine. Probably not the most natural of relationships, probably the association of curry and gas stations conjure up an image we don't want to think about right now... but Kinara, it works here. I spent some time chatting with co-owner Arch and employee Kyle. Great story - Arch and her husband purchased the gas station a few years ago where they've had a deli in there. Started offering a few classic Indian dishes, and the place took off. We talked as I watched them hand roll the rotis that came with the rolls. They do an interesting take on Indian while offering classic deli and classic Indian dishes. For my family, I ordered a chicken tikka masala and lamb kabob kati rolls. The chicken had nice big chunks, marinated with the classic tikka masala seasonings. The lamb kabob was a little different from what I was thinking - it was more of a ground lamb patty than chunks, but good flavor. Grilled green peppers, fresh red onions, tomatoes, and lettuce topped both. The flat bread that was rolled was nice and thin but still had a good bite to it. I think my only qualm (hence the 4 star rating) was that it was a bit over-seasoned for my taste. Not sure if it was because I went right before closing and so it was what was remaining, but it was a bit on the over-seasoned side for me. But great Indian flavor nevertheless. I also picked up the to-go chicken tikka masala curry and rice from the fridge which we will try later, so if it's really good (and I love my chicken tikka masala), I'll probably come back and update this review. All in all, definitely a place to swing by if you're in the area. read more

We were here in Door County Wisconsin house hunting this week and decided to try this place based on other Yelp recommendations. What a wonderful find, located inside a Mobil gas station convenience store, this Indian food was absolutely spectacular! We will most certainly be back to this place during our stay as well as once we relocate to the area. read more

This is the best place in door county to eat, BAR NONE. The lamb Kati roll is AMAZING, the Gyro is the best one I've ever eaten (and I love a good gyro) The chicken Kati rolls are just as good as the lamb, and I look forward to the day I get to eat a Kinara Burger. read more

I stoped at the Mobil gas station to fill up and went inside for a soda. Imagine my surprise to find homestyle Indian food in the coolers!!!! It was the best food in town! It tasted just like my bbf's homestyle Indian cooking! IT WAS DELICIOUS and so convenient to take home and heat up in our BNB's microwave! My friend had the gyros from the restaurant and enjoyed it. I can't say how much I love this place...food is always amazing. The lamb Kati rolls are crave worthy, the chicken tika masala is superb, I can't think of anything there I don't like. I also love how they have quick grab meals in the refrigerator case. Makes for a quick delicious dinner when you don't have time for cooking. read more

Wonderful!!! I had the Lamb Kabob Kati Roll on Romaine. Spicy and so good. They even have a to go refrigerated section. It is in a gas station, but don't let that stop you! If you choose a refrigerated option they will warm it up for you. They do have some American choices and a Boar's Head sandwich options. Clean and Very friendly!!! Will come back!!! read more

Besides made to order Boars Head sandwiches, there's also a killer menu of hot sandwiches that includes mighty fine burgers, dogs and gyros as well as a number of Indian specialities like lamb and chicken kabab served on na'an or as a salad. Authentic flavors really shine! You can also take home butter chicken, lamb curry, paleek paneer, all served with rice from their cold case. Who would have thought you could find DELICIOUS Indian food in a gas station in Door County, WI? Well, you can! I am now a huge fan!

Do not be put off by the fact that Kinara is located inside a gas station. The kati rolls are excellent. The chef makes the roti (wrap) fresh, which is unusual and not to be missed. We had the chana masala kati roll and the mixed veg kati roll (both vegetarian). Both were excellent, well spiced and flavorful. We happened upon this place on our way to Door County and were very glad we did. read more

Ever since I've started eating at Kinara, my health has completely changed! The food is fresh and made of the best products, not Sysco garbage! The spices are amazing and you feel alive after eating, not weighed down like most "meat and potato" places! Great food and even better people! read more
