We were in Sturgeon Bay doing some shopping and I did a Google search for vegetarian restaurants…read moreand Bluefront came up and we decided to give it a try. Loved it. Very cute place with some really interesting food with lots of vegetarian options but also lots of meat based dishes as well. I tried the Banh Mi and it was amazing. Its 5-spice marinated grilled pork, pickled daikon & carrot, cilantro, cucumber, Sriracha-lime mayo, on rustic roll. Lots of flavor and the pork was very tender and had great flavor. I also tried the soup of the day which was smoked ham with mushrooms and was very full of flavor. My wife ordered an Asian bowl with tofu and it was loaded with tons of fresh vegetables in a spicy asian broth. She loved it and it was served warm and was a huge serving. Very nice find and can't wait to go back in the Summer to check out the patio and the breakfast options.

We ordered them breakfast sliders and the chef was ya concerned about the onions in it. They offered a substitute of burge or bacon - how thoughtful!!! They brought a bowl of water and served their food in dog bowls. On top of all of that, our food was delicious!! Everything was fresh and prepped and presented with love . The coffee was wonderful. The whole vibe was perfect. Our server CHRIS was the absolute best! He was kind and helpful and pleasant - it made everything even bette! He said lunch is just as amazing. Thanks again Chris . So, if you're looking in a fabulous spot to eat, with or without doggos, you have to try this place! It's off the charts!!!

On a Fish Fry Friday, I ordered the clam chowder and fish fry dinner with perch and sweet potatoes…read more The clam chowder was excellent. Generously prepared, great seasoning and with the right temperature. The fries are sprinkled with cinnamon which was a first for me. The sweet potato fries were a little soggy but not bad. The cherry hard cider was fizzy and refreshing, It looks like the restaurant used to be a fire house. To me, it's like if the Hot House (Menomonee Falls) and Mission BBQ had a baby. Our server was excellent. She took very good care of us. On a quiet afternoon, we were sat by the bar, by a group that was very loud. We would have preferred a different table.

Really mixed review. Food was good but the service was meh at best…read more We were seated immediately but then it took over 10 minutes before someone talked to us again. No drinks, no "we will be with you shortly" or anything. We just sat there. Finally a server came over and said they had a big group come in and it was causing some backup and the host should have told us; he didn't. The drinks and appetizer came quickly and the street corner appetizer was very good; I would order it again. Once the appetizer was finished we sat with empty glasses for a good while. Again, no communication. Once the food arrived, things got much better. Wraps were good, not great. My daughter's pizza was good. With all the restaurants in the area, they will need to up their game on service.

I myself love healthy food and sometimes it's hard to find a common ground of healthy food and food that tastes good but you get the best of both worlds here! My favorite dish is their shrimp fried rice, their buffalo wings and their chicken andouille gumbo. They do an incredible job and they also have food you can take home in their freezers so make sure to check that out. Enjoy your time here because you will!!!

The positions are enormous, and the prices are great! I wanted lunch before my afternoon hike, so I ordered the half Sammy/soup or salad combo. The combo also comes with your choice of side. They bake their sourdough from start to finish with what they say is the cleanest flour from the oldest mill in the United States. I had to go with sourdough on my chicken and avocado (the Free Bird) sandwich, and it was delish! The homemade garlic Ranch was tasty! I love when places make their dressing. Breakfast: bacon, egg, and cheese on sourdough. It comes with a small sample of fresh-squeezed orange juice. Yum! Inside: You first find your table (instructions are there to direct you), then you order and sit down, and they will bring you your order. I love the artwork, so snag a window seat for a lovely view of this charming small town.

We were seated right away, they weren't too busy even though we were there during the height of tourism season. It seems like they have some local regulars, which is always a good sign. The restaurant was dimly lit and nicely decorated, definitely an upscale atmosphere. We were so, so excited to find that Crate was a Coca Cola establishment. Those seem to be few and far between in Door County. So we happily ordered some Diet Cokes, and some refills. Come to find out later, they were $3 each!! I had a vegetarian sushi roll, and Deb ordered a Ramen bowl. They were pricy, but not more than one might expect from a touristy area. However, comma. $20 Crab Rangoons? Surely these must be some amazing rangoons, mother. We had to try. My sushi roll was fine, maybe a bit heavy on the vinegar from the sauce that was drizzled on it. The Crab Rangoons were hot and fresh, but honestly not any more amazing than those from my local Chinese restaurant. I likely wouldn't order them again at this price. If I am in the area again, I'd go to Crate if that is what the group wants to do. For me personally, it was just a bit too expensive for what it was.

Parking on historic 3rd Ave was easier than expected, probably due to the fact it was Sunday and most shops had closed by 4 p.m. We walked in and were greeted warmly, then settled into a nice booth to check out the menus. The menu was on the small side, but I noticed a pork belly ramen that sounded tempting. I ordered it without the pork belly though--my gut told me to skip it this time. My friend ordered a vegetarian sushi with tofu. We also shared six crab rangoon. They cost $20. Yes, TWENTY bucks! They were tasty, but honestly, nothing to write home about. We were happy to see it was a Coke place and ordered diet cokes and a refill. After the hot day, we were parched! But then the surprise hit: each diet coke was $3, and refills weren't free. We weren't warned beforehand, but okay. All told, with ramen, half the crab rangoon, two diet cokes, and tip, my meal alone bill topped $50. For the price, I expected a bit more. Probably won't be back if I'm ever back in the area.
