Great addition to the quiet neighborhood of Fresh Meadows! Actually owned by Thai folks and flavor is very legit. I usually don't give out 5 stars but I have to give it to them. Oh definitely 5 stars! Not having to brave the Jackson Heights or Elmhurst area for great Thai definitely is a gigantic plus for Kin'd. The fact that the food either meets or exceeds the entrees in those Thai strongholds in both quality and price just puts it over the top. Of the dishes I've tried, the drunken noodles, Bangkok wings, fried Branzino, satay chicken, duck noodle soup, all the varieties of fried rice are really tasty. I frequent Kin'd three time a month and every time, the quality has been on par. I do especially enjoy how they don't over cook the shrimp entrees here. The lunch special is a really great deal. My go to Thai spot in queens! It's spacious and has cute decor which makes it a great date spot. They have both outdoor and indoor seating. I highly recommend coming for the lunch special. It's a great deal and comes with an appetizer and entree. I usually get the green & red tofu curries which are creamy and flavorful. My new favorite local Thai restaurant! I've been back on numerous occasions, each time does not disappoint. Their hospitality and attentiveness to their customers is amazing. For appetizers, I usually either get the curry puffs or satay. Both are really good! The Pad Thai and Green Curry are my entree favorites. Though I'm pretty basic when it comes to my Thai favorite dishes, they're incomparable to any Thai restaurant in the area. They also have an extensive wine and drink list. The lycheetini is my favorite. During COVID, they have an outdoor tent setup for outdoor dining. There's an abundant amount of tables! I just ordered delivery from them. I wish I had taken pictures of the food before I devoured it. The food came earlier than expected. I got the Duck Noodle Soup, chive pancake and salad which is part of the lunch special. It's a good deal with a ton of food. The chive pancakes were delicious and crispy. The broth for the duck noodle soup was delicious and not overbearing. There was lots of pieces of duck which was tender and flavorful. The noodles was soft. The bowl was hearty and massive. The salad was nice with a peanut dressing I believe, a little sweet. They also didn't forget the hot sauce, which I am so fond of. Overall, the food was really tasty, delivery was prompt. Not many (any?) dedicated Thai options in this area so it was nice to see Kin'd open in this spot. Kin'd is in a pretty space - another reviewer said Thai by way of Williamsburg alluding to the modern upscale decor which is accurate for the look and feel. Being near Cunningham park it had a peaceful quality only disrupted by the staticy pop radio music coming through the speakers. I tried the Thai iced tea and enjoyed it - it comes in a cool copper mug that you will recognize if you are a Moscow Mule drinker. Mango iced tea has a distinctive mango and tea flavor that worked well together. Tried the roti app with the chicken massaman curry - I would pass on this app next time. 4 small pieces of roti and the curry was a bit liquidity so by the time you remove and eat the chicken you are left with a bowl of soup like curry. Flavor was decent, but a bit on the bland side. I enjoyed the Pad Woodsen Vermicelli with crispy duck - my suggestion would be to eat this while warm because the noodles get stuck together if allowed to sit too long. Crispy duck was a bit overdone, but the whole dish had a nice char probably due to "Wok Hei", or "breath of the wok". This dish was not spicy, but comforting nonetheless. I tried the Tom Yum Noodle Soup and i thought the broth had a great spicy and sour flavor, but also a rich depth to the broth that most Thai places don't usually have. An enjoyable dish. Kin'd (saw someone said it was pronounced Kin-Dee) is a nice option in this residential area with plenty of street parking nearby. We went to this restaurant for valentines day and called midday for a last minute reservation. The front desk and hostess were very accommodating even though they were clearly busy upon entrance. Kin'd has the BEST Thai food I have ever tasted. If you are looking for authentic Thai food, look no further. The Thai fried rice was so delectable, I couldn't wait until the next bite. Don't let the pineapple flavor fool you, it complements the rice perfectly. The Pad See-Ew was delicious as well. The noodles were light and delicious~the shrimp were generously marinated in tasty brown sauce. I highly recommend the fried ice cream dessert with chocolate and strawberries to end the meal. And last but not least, the Thai iced tea was very authentic, with a balanced ratio of tea to sweet condensed milk. The food here is fantastic and absolutely deserves a solid 4+ stars. So why only 3 stars? The waitress was rude or just plain aloof. She came to our table asking if we were ready to order soon after we sat down. I said no. And it didn't even come by until after we had to ask the owner/manager lady who was making rounds table to table. Now finally onto the food: - Lychee Thai tea: Great price. I love how there is no milk so you can really taste the tea flavors. It has a subtle hint of lychee syrup which was just the right amount. Refreshing, and a nice twist from the typical. - Moo Yang: Barbecued pork. Nice char. Slightly salty, slightly sweet. Very flavorful. This is a win. - Basil minced chicken: Moderate to larger size. Good touch of spice. Delicious. I have a feeling this is even better as a pork dish. Comes with white rice. - Curry noodles: Wow. This is legit probably one of the better Thai curries I've had. Strong, tasty curry broth. Silky rice noodles to pair. This was soooo good. A little on the smaller side in terms of portions but I guess Americans overeat. What a pleasant surprise this restaurant was. It's not easy finding a good thai place unless you're in Hells kitchen or Jackson Heights. This one rivals them all. Their extensive menu of food choices, alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages makes me want to come back ASAP. I don't say that about many places. We ordered a duck appetizer and duck entree, pad thai, and garlic flat noodles. Barely room for dessert, we shared the fried banana with green tea ice cream (topped with chocolate crumble). Despite that, Amy and the rest of the staff at Kin'd went above and beyond to cater food for FDNY EMS in a "salute" to those on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic. Note, they are closed everyday from 4 to 5pm. Saw a bunch of people trying to get into the restaurant at this time, but it's the staff members food break during this time. Whoever is in the restaurant already can stay, but no new customers until after 5pm. My wife and I came here, and we were both blown away with the food, the Bangkok wings was our favorite. My wife ordered the pad se-ew with crispy duck and I ordered the pad thai with crispy duck. I got dark meat and my wife got white meat for the duck, we didn't instruct the staff what kind of meat we preferred. My wife enjoys dark meat, so she didn't finish everything, but that really was our fault for not specifying. Everything about this restaurant was great. It has great authentic Thai food at a reasonable price with a modern and comfortable atmosphere. The staff were very attentive and came around often refilling our water and asking if everything was okay. The staff were friendly and made the dining experience enjoyable. They are however very generous with their air conditioning, so if you're afraid of the cold bring a light jacket or sweater to keep warm. I will definitely be coming back here soon. read more

I was on the way home yesterday and something caught my eye.. a Thai restaurant? In Fresh Meadows? Literally the next day, my friend and I came to eat here for lunch. When I walked in, I was instantly impressed with the aesthetic layout and design of the place. But on to the IMPORTANT part. FOOD! My friend and I both got lunch specials ($10-$14, depending on what meat you get) which came with a side salad AND an appetizer AND the entree. What a steal, what a deal. Mango Salad ($8): personally, I'm a papaya salad girl. But my friend really insisted on trying the mango salad and lemme tell you it was the bomb dot com. Flavor wise, it maintained the authentic balance of sour/salty but with a modern twist! Avocado!!! I never had avocado with Thai mango salad before, but it works! Chives pancakes: I LOVE chives pancakes and they made it just the way you would get it from the street markets in Thailand. Super crunchy on the outside and softy/chewy on the inside. Bangkok Wings: ok so I'm a big fan of Korean Fried Chicken but these wings are pretty dang good. Perfectly fried, then covered with Thai sweet chili sauce. Don't question it. JUST GET IT. Drunken Noodles: I stole a bite (or a couple) from my friend. One of my favorite dish of the day (close second to the mango salad). And it had the perfect amount of heat to it that my non-spicy eater friend can handle. Basil Chicken: I like my basil chicken saucy and this def hit the spot. The flavor of the basil really shined through and the chicken itself was very tender. Thai Iced Tea ($3): perfectly sweet and creamy.. the best way to smother the spiciness from the food. All in all, I'm so happy I have an authentic Thai place to go to without having to go all the way to Elmhurst/Woodside area. I highly recommend the Deluxe Combo so you can try out the individual sides. It comes with Shrimp Rolls, Curry Puffs, Thai Dumplings, and Bangkok Wings. The Pad Kea Mao was probably my favorite dish from this place so far. Drinks: We ordered the Thai Tea Tini and Thai Iced Tea. Both were really good drinks. While Kin'd (pronounced "Kin-Dee") did a few things excellently during our dinner visit, it feels like the restaurant could do more to improve overall execution and to justify its smaller portions. Dishes We Had: - Duck with Tamarind. The duck was excellent. This would have been my favorite dish, but the vegetables were simply blanched and flavorless. - Pad Se-Ew with Chicken. This was generally well-executed, but was a very small portion that would likely be a lunch-size portion at other establishments. Noodles are inexpensive; the restaurant could have included a little more. The chicken pieces were dry and coarse. - Crab Rangoon: OK, but small portion (only 4 pieces) and we didn't taste any crab within the cream cheese filling. - Thai Roti with Green Curry. OK. - Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken. This was a disappointment. The rice was oily and wet, as if it was pre-made and steamed to heat. The chicken and few pineapple chunks were over-cooked. The chicken was dry and coarse, and the pineapple was slightly melted. Food: Good (3.5 of 5). Generally Very Good, except for portion size, and the Pineapple Fried Rice. Service: Very Good (4 of 5). I rarely rate places 5 stars but this place totally deserves it! And it's just based on the 15 minutes I spent waiting for my takeout and the food. It's literally across the street from the Q46 headed towards LIJ or Glen Oaks. I just wish it was closer to my school so I wouldn't have to trek 1 mile to get here in the scorching sun. The food comes in a paper bag within a plastic bag. So your food is all secure and no worries about your food leaking out. I got the lunch special: - chicken pad thai: the chicken was so moist! The noodles were perfectly cooked. I loved the sauce! I've been to other Thai places that make their pad thai a bit too sweet for me but the sauce from here was just right! I finished my whole plate in under 10 minutes. - chives pancakes: unexpectedly delicious! Crispy on the outside and slightly soft on the inside. My absolute, absolute favorite Thai place. When you combine insanely great prices + mouthwatering food + a place that serves fried ice cream, you get Kin'd. I've been coming here regularly to dine in since this place first opened. The ambiance is impeccable and the restaurant feels very modern, but homey. A great date spot. We ordered the lunch special which runs everyday (7 days a week) from 12-4pm, which is around $12-15 for an appetizer and a main dish. Would definitely recommend the pineapple fried rice and pad see ew. There's a smokiness and umami to the pineapple fried rice that really sets the standard. I don't think I'll be able to eat pineapple fried rice anywhere else. The fried ice cream has raspberry sauce on it, so if you don't like that type of flavoring (tastes like a jelly donut filling), then you can ask to substitute it out. But it was delicious and we cleaned the plate. This huge meal left us in a food coma and the bill came out to be $30 something. Highly recommend coming here to try out their food. read more
