I came to try the lunch specials. Service wasn't good. The waitresses ignored me and kept me waiting for a long time before I had to flag one of them down to order. The salad and appetizer combo plate was tiny. I ordered the chive pancakes which were 3 little pieces that were one bite each. Flavor of my beef massaman curry was good but the beef pieces were not tender. I would give it one more star if the beef was in chunks and tender. I've been meaning to write a review for Kin'd since it opened. Hands down, my favorite restaurant in the neighborhood. I've only returned home to Fresh Meadows twice in the past year, and I've eaten here at least five times already. Their lunch specials are an amazing deal - ~$15 (including tax) or a little more if you opt for their crispy duck (worth!). Their lunch hours run until 4pm, before they close for an employee meal between 4-5pm. The staff are very kind and will take orders until 4pm, despite having service cut into their break. I am guilty of arriving just before 4pm on more than one occasion... would rate more than 5* just for this if I could. Thank you! My go-to items: - Papaya salad (the heat kicks in after a bit) - Thai iced tea/coffee/lychee Thai tea (kept cold in Moscow mule mugs) - Duck noodle soup w/ rice noodles (the best I've had!) I always choose the dumpling peanut sauce as part of the lunch special, though the chive pancake is also great. They have pretty good dinner combos, too, so no worries if you can't make it for lunch. I've had their salmon mango, pad thai, moo yang, Phuket fried rice, and some other dishes that escape me at the moment. I'm usually torn between the duck - cooked perfectly so the skin is crispy but the meat is tender and juicy - and trying something new. So far, I have not been disappointed either way! I love the lunch special because it's bang for your buck. You get a smaller entree size with appetizer and salad. I really like their Pad Thai and spring rolls. The peanut sauce on top of the salad is good unless you're allergic to peanuts. read more

Oh my! Oh me oh my. This was just too much, wowsers! The outdoor seating was spectacular, really nice ambiance with some earthy vibes. Very easy to park so try to make it for lunch. The staff is friendly and there's enough distance between each table. Let's get down to business!! The food!! We started with the duck rolls which were just phenomenal!! The duck was tender and juicy with the delicious fresh herbs and greens stuffed inside. Don't skip out on this, or I'll find you and break your legs. The lunch special was phenomenal!! Very fair for everything they give you. A nice salad along with a side of choices from the menu to accompany with. The chive pancake was stellar!! Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, again, a lot of leg breaking activity going on here. The duck pineapple curry was a revelation, it was crunchy skin which I'm a major fan of, the Panang curry with duck was also delicious on the lunch menu highly recommended. The panang curry and the duck pineapple curry had a similar broth so if you want to save some bucks get it with duck on the lunch special. The pad sew with chicken was consistent and yummy, not entirely something earth shattering but appetizing nonetheless. The duck over rice was also extremely delicious, it was just a great ducking day! We had some beach vibes and some delicious drinks and delicious food and of course great company. Ended this amazing meal with non other then mango sticky rice. Which might've been the best damn mango sticky rice i ever had. What more can you ask for! read more

Ordered takeout. Specifically asked for no peanuts and no bean sprouts on one entree. We arrived home after pickup and the food was wrong. Called the restaurant and they were convinced the food was made correctly. The woman on the phone said that I was to far for delivery and that they could not refund my card. She had offered a gift card that I would have to pick up. No thank you- especially since this is my first time here. After a few minutes of the back and forth I told her I'm going to just return all of the food. She begged me not to and that she was all of a sudden able to send me food with a driver they miraculously found.. So I hiked my way all the way back to the restaurant and showed the incorrect food. They were not giving me anything at that point. With customers starting to watch the gave me the money back for the entire order - and I left. 24 hours later there is a second charge from the restaurant for the amount of the bill night before. In speaking to the so-called manager (apparently after ten minutes of speaking she proceeds to say she wasn't the boss and he would be in tomorrow) she said that she was told what had happened and continued to call the credit card company to reimburse me the amount of the charge but because I was given cash back she charged me again. I must have explained a million times that she negated everything she did. There was no point. We were even with the order. In charging the debit card, with enough cash to use for the day - due to identity theft over years - the card over draft and charged $34. So now not only did I get charged $65 again but now i was charged the fee on top of that. So now they owe me money. After explaining this to the so - called manager, I have gotten no where with money charged to my card. Because this was done without my consent or knowledge, they illegally charged my card when already having been even on the order the same night it was ordered. Trying to report them to the better business bureau they were not found on their database. I proceeded to look them up for the food rating and funny, there is none. Buyer beware.. read more

I have eaten at Kin'd 3 or 4 times now and it has been consistently good--food, service and ambiance. I live in the neighborhood, so when my husband and I saw a stylish thai place opening up, we were very excited, as Fresh Meadows is lacking in both. The food is always delicious. We've ordered pad thai, both red & green curries, tom yum soup, pad se ew, and a few of the appetizers. All very tasty! and I highly recommend the crispy duck on any of the dishes! I can't compare to other crispy duck dishes, but wow. I was thoroughly impressed by how good it was. the service is always quick and attentive. they always fill up our waters and come around with a smile. We've met the owner a few times and she is very pleasant and gave us a thai iced tea to try on the house once. Such a great addition to the area, the food is absolutely delicious and the portions are perfect. I'd recommend going between 12-4 during the lunch special. Great food, lovely lunch menu. I've tried the peanut dumplings, chive pancakes, minced spicy basil chicken (medium) and everything was delicious. I can't handle too much spice, so medium was just the right kick (and flavorful, not that punishing type spice). Tasted a friend's panang curry and it's now on my list for the next time I visit. The Thai iced tea is yummy too, just like the ones in Thailand. Both times I went during lunch. Serving size is very generous, I left feeling like maternity pants were needed for my food baby. 10/10 would recommend and planning on going again. P.S. Fun fact: I was pronouncing the name as "kind," thinking maybe the apostrophe was just for aesthetics BUT when I asked it's actually for "kin-di" which means "eat well" in Thai. Went on a Friday night around 830, 4 people no wait, the vibe seemed okay. Service is extremely slow. Excessive amount of ice in the Thai teas and the chives cake is just meh. Green curry was too sweet, spicy basil snapper is ok with just a few basil leaves, but the veggies on side has no taste at all. For the mango sticky rice, it should have come with coconut milk drizzled on top of the mango and rice. Will go back to Ayada in Woodside just to play safe :) read more

Tried this spot for a double date. The ambiance was semi romantic. I ordered the shrimp avocado curry and it was surprisingly yummy. I also ordered the fried banana.
