My daughter recently completed her Invisalign treatment, and the entire process, from the initial consultation to moving into her retainers, was incredibly smooth. Dr. Junyi took the time to answer every question (and my daughter had a lot of them!). She never made us feel rushed and always explained what was happening and why in a way that my daughter could understand, which really helped ease the nerves she had throughout treatment. One of my favorite parts of the experience was the weekly photo check-ins. Being able to submit photos instead of coming into the office every few weeks was such a time saver, especially with a busy family schedule. We still felt like her treatment was being closely monitored, and whenever we had a question between appointments, Dr. Junyi and her team responded quickly and were always helpful. The entire office made what could have been an overwhelming process feel easy and straightforward. If you're considering Invisalign for your child or yourself, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Kind Smiles and Dr. Junyi. Dr. Junyi also takes adult patients for ortho!

Before starting, we did a lot of research, comparing recommendations from friends whose kids do the same close-contact sports, reading reviews, and basically going down a full orthodontist deep dive. That's how we found Dr. Junyi, and we're so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the place just felt right. Warm, welcoming, and no intimidating dental office energy. Ms. Anna, who walked us through everything and helped with scheduling before we met the doctor, was wonderful. She made the whole process feel easy and organized. The front desk team is always friendly and truly lives up to the name - Kind Smiles (very onbrand :) ). Dr. Gary made my son's extractions surprisingly smooth and gentle. As a parent, that's the moment you're bracing yourself for... but he explained everything so clearly and kept ALL of us at ease the entire time. We didn't even need the laughing gas. :):) Dr. Junyi has such a friendly, positive energy and communicates proactively about what to expect and what needs to be done. You can tell she's detail oriented and really cares about getting everything just right. Overall, every interaction we've had here has been positive. The doctors and staff are all fantastic, and we feel very confident knowing that we're in good hands. Thank you Kind Smiles team!

We have a dental HMO plan and unfortunately, there are almost no pediatric practices that accept it, so we were cash pay. However, this place is pretty reasonable cash prices. It was $135 for my older daughter, and babies under 18 months get their first visit complimentary. It was slightly cheaper than a couple other nearby places, and the reviews were very positive so I decided to try it. The waiting room is small but very neat and tidy. The aesthetic is cute, and they have a few toys for kids but it's not crazy or cluttered. It's actually better that way since kids are just drawn to one or two toys instead of overwhelmed by the options. We were called back shortly after we checked in, and it wasn't very crowded that day when we went. My older daughter laid on the exam chair and they have TVs on the ceiling so she got to watch a show, which she was pleased with. The hygienist and the dentist were both great. They were informative without being patronizing, and they respected my parenting choices and offered advice that fell within the scope of my choices. For example, continuing to breastfeed my young toddler (14 months old) at nighttime does increase the risk of cavities, but they informed me that they understand the benefits of breastfeeding and that the risk increases primarily after 18 months, which was helpful to know. Another example is we discussed fluoride vs. non-fluoride toothpaste. We had been using non-fluoride especially when we have to brush teeth on the go (like trying to be on time to school), so they said if we don't do fluoride every time, then doing it at the nighttime brushing is the most helpful time of day to kill the most bacteria. I appreciated that their advice was realistic and balanced enough to recognize that parents weigh many factors when making parenting decisions, and not all decisions are 100% about good dental hygiene. For my toddlers appointment they mainly wanted to inspect her teeth, do a quick brush and apply fluoride, but it was very short. They had me hold her on my lap face up and just worked on her there. Of course my toddler screamed the entire time, but they worked fast and were sympathetic but not shocked by the behavior. Seems like they have a lot of experience! They gave both my kids stickers and each a new toothbrush at the end. It was a very positive visit and we will definitely be back!

I was honestly embarrassed to tell them how long it had been since his last dental visit, but when I did, they were incredibly understanding. There was no judgment, no lectures, and no guilt--just kindness, compassion, and a focus on helping my son get the care he needed. From the start, they were patient and understanding of my son's anxiety and special needs. They took the time to earn his trust and moved at his pace. They explained everything before doing it, checked in with him often, and reassured him whenever he was nervous. What impressed me most was their communication and follow-through. They thoroughly explained the treatment plan, helped coordinate care with another dentist for a root canal, and kept us informed every step of the way. I never felt like we were navigating this alone. If you're a parent of a child with anxiety, special needs, or dental fears, I can't recommend this office enough. They treated my son with patience, respect, and genuine compassion. After years of avoiding dental care because of fear and anxiety, this was the first experience that made both of us feel understood and supported.

I've had nothing but positive experiences with her and the entire team at Trooth & Smiles. She even met me at midnight on a Friday once to fix some serious pain I was having and followed up the next day to make sure I was doing ok. This wasn't a one off either. This is who she is and what she stands for. I will always be appreciative of her and her staff for that and all they've done for me. Tracey is also absolutely incredible. From the moment you walk in, she makes you feel welcomed, comfortable, and supported. Her positive attitude and genuine care for patients really stand out. She made me laugh every time I was in for a cleaning or getting work done. If you're looking for a dental practice with a team that truly cares about their patients, their well-being, and their dental health, I can't recommend Trooth & Smiles enough.

We were charged over $1,000 out of pocket (more than $3,000 before insurance) for something that shouldn't have been done. They also took an excessive number of X-rays--18 before a routine cleaning, and many more afterward just to "check" their work. For simple fillings, they removed far more tooth structure than expected, leaving the tooth hollow and then recommending crowns as a follow-up. While the staff appears friendly, it often feels like they are pushing as many procedures as possible rather than prioritizing what is truly necessary for the patient.

I was honestly a little nervous about how this appointment was going to go, but the staff at Little Smiles of OC were amazing. Johanna and the doctor were incredibly patient with my little one. Lesson learned on my end though: DO NOT feed your anxious toddler breakfast before a dentist appointment! He was so worked up and agitated that he ended up throwing up everywhere, and I was mortified. Instead of making us feel embarrassed or uncomfortable, the staff were so kind and understanding. They offered him toys, talked to him, and did everything they could to help calm him down. Despite the rough start, we were actually able to complete the appointment! At the end, the staff even let him pick out a toy, which definitely helped turn his mood around a little. I also really appreciated that the office has both an open area and private rooms for appointments. Since my son was already anxious, having a private room made a big difference for us. The entire staff, from the front desk to the back, was friendly and welcoming, and the clinic was clean and inviting. So glad we found this little gem!
