I had a really special trip to Kindrek Oak Farm this weekend. I was just there for 2 nights. But I would certainly go back . Owners were very warm and hospitable. The rooms were really rustic and cool. It had great technology like wireless door locks and Google personal assistant for music. The grounds were really nice. I walked around a lot. There are goats and cows. The owner's two dogs are really nice and would hang out with me too. The owner Lisa made breakfast on both days and it was unusually good. There were fresh squeezed juices (combinations of different ingredients). I loved 3 of 4 of them. But the 4th was just really Good. The first 3 were exceptional. She had a nice chef there too to help out. Reservations were really chill and easy. The whole proces was easy. Oh yeah... they had great coffee too. This was my first bed and breakfast, as i usually stay at hotels. But this experience was more personal. I have no complaints. Great experience overall. read more

I could not recommend this place more. We arrived here for a weekend stay and immediately fell in love. We were greeted by two of the sweetest Pyrenees dogs ever. Our room balcony looked out on the fame below where long haired bulls and cows hang out looking cool. We took a walk around and hung out with the goats. We were able to let them out of their paddock and they strolled around the grounds with us for a bit. The owners, Lisa and Rob, were wonderful hosts who made their home feel like our home. The room itself was so comfortable and cozy, and there's an outdoor cat that if you leave your balcony door open will just wander in and settle on the bed waiting to be pet. Chef Matt cooked some of the best breakfasts I've had and is such a delightful guy to talk food, travel and life with. Vineyards you'll want to visit are all relatively close by, but you're far enough removed to feel like you're in a sanctuary when you're on the grounds. We really loved it. read more

Awesome place!! My wife and I just returned from a 6-day visit to Paso Robles. Our visit was enhanced by the wonderful experience staying at Chanticleer Vineyards B & B. Chanticleer is a quaint, quiet and beautiful place from which to explore all that the Paso Robles Wine Region has to offer. Whether you prefer the gourmet breakfast while visiting with other guests or prefer to spend some quiet time on the deck with a glass of great wine, Chanticleer is the place. Lisa and Rob were gracious hosts and gave great suggestions on vineyards, restaurants and treats. The room was quiet and very comfortable with a beautiful view of the countryside. Lisa prepared a delicious breakfast each day using ingredients from their organic garden and other locally sourced products. I'm very excited to say that I will be giving up everything I own in San Diego, moving into room #2 and I am never leaving. Carolyn & Roland were amazing hosts. I found myself relating to Carolyn while flipping through her recipe book and tasting her chocolate cake and bottled wine from their vineyard. While my boyfriend related to Roland over beer, fiddling in the workshop, and the barn. A charming couple and generous hosts. We packed our bags friday morning and started driving north to Paso Robles. Since we had a 5 hour drive ahead of us, we decided we would dedicate that time to researching every possible B&B and hotel in the area. Long story short, after 2 hours we came across Chanticleer Vineyard B&B. I spent another 30 min reading every review possible and looking at the photos before I decided to book it. We were greeted with a warm smile and shown to our room. The fireplace was lit and we took in the scent of fresh lavender. Carolyn showed us where everything was including a bottle of chilled champagne, flutes with strawberries, a warm chocolate bundt cake, and bottle of red wine. We poured a glass of champagne and went out to the balcony to take in the view. It was breathtaking, exactly what we expected! In the morning Carolyn had a gorgeous table set with amazing breakfast prepared. The two other couples that were staying there sat down with us. 2 hours later we were full, feeling good and laughing with our new friends. I could go on and on about our wonderful weekend. My husband and I fell in love with this bed and breakfast. The property is large, serene, and tranquil. It is perfect for a relaxing morning walk. Don't forget to stop by the cows and goats to feed them a bit of alfalfa; they will appreciate it. Breakfast is served plated over multiple courses with fresh local, organic ingredients. It is what you might hope for from a high end restaurant. Willow Creek was just cozy as could be, with an old fashioned gas fireplace that kept us incredibly warm. My mom, sister, and I spent a weekend at Kindred Oak Farm in early October, and to say it was incredible from the moment we stepped on-site to the moment we sadly had to leave, is an understatement! The property is situated close enough to town and wineries making it easy to get anywhere within 5-10 minutes but also feels as if you are secluded in a quiet oak grove and beautiful farm. Lisa and Rob are so welcoming and have done an amazing job creating a small oasis in the 4 room bed & breakfast with perfectly appointed decor, every small detail you can imagine and while it's difficult to choose a highlight, the 3-course breakfast served each morning is hard to beat. Taking into consideration dietary limitations if necessary but not sacrificing taste or presentation, Lisa and Chef Grace prepared the most fantastic spread, all homemade to perfection. Oh, and the impromptu tour Rob gave us of the entire property on Sunday morning was great and so kind of him. I can't wait to return with my husband...or another girls' trip! read more

Kindred Oak is not just a bed and breakfast, it is an opportunity to go on a goat run, meet Texas Longhorns up close, collect freshly laid eggs, and taste veggies from an organic garden. But if you're just looking for an awesome bed and breakfast, this place will far exceed your expectations. The highlight of our stay was the meticulously prepared breakfast by Lisa. Based on the complexity of flavors and quality of ingredients, we were certain she had a culinary background. We started with a couple fresh juices (with vegetables from their garden), extracted from a "slow juicer" (as a juice aficionado, I was impressed!). The first course was Greek yogurt topped with caramelized grapes, toasted pistachios and local honey, with a side of apricot jam and a freshly made croissant. This was followed by a pumpkin brioche, farm fresh eggs, bacon, and heirloom tomatoes. We have had some amazing breakfasts in our lifetimes, but we agreed that this was probably one of the best. All of this in the most serene setting on a balcony among towering oak trees. Our room was also comfortable, with a private balcony overlooking the oaks and hillside. Last but not least, the owners Lisa and Rob were a pleasure to get to know. Despite our short stay, they were so generous with their time, sharing with us their story of how they acquired the farm and their future plans for the site, and of course showing us around their beautiful property. This place is amazing! Came down here for the Field of Lights exhibition, and the best part of the trip for us was staying at this BnB. It's a beautiful, serene, and cozy spot to get away - better than anything we saw available either on AirBnB or the surrounding hotels. An abundance of activities to enjoy on the property and surrounding areas too. The homemade breakfasts are amazing, and the juices that Lisa makes are DELICIOUS. If they sold it in a bottle and charged money for it, I would get minimum 10 IV drip fulls and inject it straight into my veins. Would recommend to anyone going to the exhibition, or just looking to get out of town and enjoy a quiet and relaxing weekend in the central coast. My husband and I were a little nervous traveling during the Covid madness, but this was something we'd do again in a heartbeat. That was mainly due to Lisa and Rob, their welcoming nature, cleanliness and attentiveness - such wonderful hosts. We want them to adopt us. Arriving at Kindred Oak Farm felt like we were going home (well, we wish!) Our room was beautiful with such well thought-out little touches everywhere. What a great time we had at this bed and breakfast! Roland and Carolyn were great hosts! They were so fun to talk with and the breakfasts were so good! Homemade and fresh breakfasts both mornings we were there. We were there to celebrate my birthday and Carolyn left a yummy mini chocolate cake in our room along with a Happy Birthday banner ! The room was so comfortable with so many great amenities! I took a nice bubble bath in the large tub that was in the room. The view outside our window looked out to wine vineyards on rolling hills! So beautiful. It was a little cold while we were there but our room had its own gas fireplace which made it nice and warm! We would definitely stay here again in the future! read more

What a gem of a place to stay! We were recommended staying here by some friends who also had a wonderful experience. The moment you pull into the lot, you fell welcomed. Everything was taken into consideration to ensure that we had a fantastic stay. Lisa and Robert welcome you in as they would guests in their home. They are thoughtful, fun, and care deeply that guests have the experience that they want. You would never know that you are 1 minute from the freeway, and 5 minutes from restaurants. I picked Chanticleer as the base for a weekend getaway in which I proposed to my fiance. Well, I don't know if the proposal would have gone differently at another B&B, but she said yes so this place is great! Really, though.. This is a fantastic little gem in Paso wine country, and the personalized treatment that Carolyn, the "proprietress," offers is unparalleled. I coordinated a full picnic basket and table for two in the onsite vineyard, which is where I popped the question. Carolyn did all the shopping and setup, and only charged the food items to my bill on checkout. She also arranged an in-room couples massage and gave me great restaurant recommendations (it was my first time visiting Paso). The rooms are charming and nicely appointed. The breakfast that is served every morning is amazing. And is entirely cooked by Carolyn. It's a great B&B on its own, but the personalized treatment and class that the owners display puts it above the rest. read more

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Paso Robles around fair time. What a DELIGHT! The setting, decor, food, hospitality were top notch and delivered with heart. There is a barn with pool table and darts and horseshoes and outdoor kitchen we used with friends. It has pretty little lights making it pretty enchanting! My husband and I stayed here this past weekend; it was delightful! Carolyn and Roland were perfect hosts, and we definitely plan on staying here again! When we arrived we were greeted by Carolyn, who showed us to our room, which had a lovely big bed, robes in the closet, and a clawfoot bathtub with bubbles. Oh man, so needed! That was the best soak I'd had in awhile :) The view was gorgeous, looking out on woods with a private patio out front were we ate our snacks and drank wine. Carolyn was very nice, and since we'd not gotten a chance to eat even fixed us up a little snack of some delicious homemade bread, a yummy spicy mustard and apple slices so we wouldn't be too hungry before our dinner. Everything felt wonderfully homey, and there was soft music playing throughout our stay in the living room area, with good coffee or tea and cocoa if that was your preference. Carolyn went through our dinner options, highlighting ones that would be vegetarian friendly, pulling up the menus and offering to make reservations. The grounds are lovely - serene, with a cute barn down below and chicken coops far enough from the home you can say hello but not be woken up by them :) We really enjoyed the afternoon just wandering about and taking pictures. In the evening you can hear the crickets and enjoy another glass of wine on the porch while enjoying the soft breeze. In the morning, we had the most delicious breakfast - Carolyn is a phenomenal cook! She even made my eggs how I like them, everything had a great flavor profile and there were wonderful discussions about gardening and how to cook. Absolutely delicious breakfast that kept us full for awhile as we wandered further south. We ended up chatting for awhile with our hosts, talking about their travels, ours, and then feeling like we had to tear ourselves away so we could leave with enough time to see everything else! Picked this B&B based on some great reviews on some other sites...and rapidly found that the hype doesn't even do the place justice. Carolyn and Roland provide old school service--the sort of service that would even cause your mother to stop with the "when I used to fly, I used to wear a hat and gloves and they served you a real meal" sorts of stories. Everything about the place is just so, from the fireplace warm on your arrival to the bottle of wine waiting for you in your room (with a few amazing cookies, even). Breakfast was a treat to look forward to everyday and your hosts' knowledge of the local area wineries and restaurants will save you some pointless running around. The G/F and I stayed for the Valentine's Holiday weekend....for a romantic getaway, Room 1 is the bomb. Definitely recommended for wine n' foodies and folks who appreciate friendly, personal service. Would repeat my visit, even if the G/F didn't want to come along. read more

If I could give 4.5 stars I would. My husband and I just returned from staying here and we loved it. The couple who runs it are wonderful, friendly, and interesting. She spends a lot of time thinking about the breakfasts she serves and you will not be disappointed. They were delicious, unique, and very tasty. The room was cozy and romantic. They add a lot of little extras, like makeup remover at the sink, wonderful lavender bubble bath, chocolates, homemade cookies daily, and a bottle of wine upon arrival. We stayed in room 2, which has beautiful views. The only reason for my 4.5 stars is that we could hear the couple in room 1 talking until 2 a.m. I don't know if that is usual, or if the guy just had a really loud voice. Other than that it was perfect. We will return for sure! read more

My husband and I just had the most wonderful weekend away here. This is a dreamy retreat in wine country. The hosts have done an amazing job creating a country ranch feel but with elegant updated rooms. It is an incredible landscape dotted by hundreds of mature oak trees. They also have goats, chicken and fresh produce growing on the farm. Guests are free to roam around the huge property and visit the gardens, play with the goats (they are adorable) or just sit and relax. The breakfasts are divine and gourmet and cooked from much of their own produce! Most importantly, they are VERY safe in regards to Covid. They wore masks inside but since there are only a few rooms and so much outdoor property and seating, one could easily go the whole weekend with minimal interaction with anyone else. Absolutely perfect Paso experience -- beautiful 20-acre property to explore with oak trees, goats, dogs and views of neighboring farms & farm animals. Accommodations comfortable and well-done -- owners have impeccable taste in amenities, decor and furnishings. I usually don't write reviews on my first visit to a place, but I'm making an exception for Chanticleer. WOW! We just stayed there for a long weekend to celebrate our anniversary and loved our stay. We'd never stayed at a B&B before, so we weren't sure how or if we'd like it. You know, not everyone are B&B people. I'm so glad we took the chance and tried it, cos the Chanticleer was a nice treat! Carolyn and Roland are incredibly warm people who made us feel right at home. We stayed in room 3 for 3 nights and loved it! Room 3 has a side entrance only accessible from the outside, which gave us a bit more privacy. The room was stocked with good bed linens, plush towels, a bottle of wine made from their very own grapes, plus has a huge tub and walk-in shower with 2 different shower heads. We went to an anniversary dinner our first night and returned to the room to find a silver tray with chilled champagne, a home-baked mini cake and rose petals -- so special! Breakfasts were an enjoyable way to start the day with a delish breakfast from Carolyn and great stories from Roland. You can tell how much they love sharing their piece of heaven with others and that made the experience so nice for us. The property is so peaceful, it really takes you away and relaxes you. It's located in a great spot right off Hwy 101 and Hwy 46 West, making it close enough to get around, but far away enough to hear NOTHING. :) We loved meeting Carolyn, Roland and the rest of the family (Bonnie, Bear and Toby) and hope to return again soon! read more

What an amazing time! Owner Lisa, is a gracious hostess and chef Matt is a gem! We stayed all day at the farm and were delighted by a scrumptious breakfast. Followed by an beautiful picnic lunch on the front lawn of the property then a special dinner for 2 created by chef Matt which included the finds from their organic garden I even had the pleasure of selecting the pumpkin for the soup for dinner. Everything about our stay was perfect...the bed super comfy and wonderful linens. But wait, the property animals were such a joy to visit in the mornings! Fluffy cows, goats, chickens and super friendly dogs and cats all made our stay even more perfect. We were so happy with just being there that we didn't do any wine tasting...lol. My wife surprised me with this getaway after spending time in Paso for thanksgiving. She was able to get one night (usually a two night minimum) because the rooms weren't booked and she is persisitent :). There is NOTHING bad i can say about this place. We were driving in looking for the place and were hungry for snacks, the owners said come on in and she'll have something for us. On arrival the fireplace was lit, the almond champagne was waiting and the crackers were waiting with core apple at it side ... i knew then this is the right place. We are in room 1 and the views are amazing, the space is comfortable the bathroom is perfect for men and women alike and this place just makes me want to redo my own home. haven't had the food yet as i'm relaxing by the fire just to tell humanity this place is a hidden treasure. read more

This is a wonderful B&B on a vineyard. It has three rooms, a nice living room/public area, and a great location. The proprietors were warm, friendly, and helpful. We stayed in #2 for two nights. The room was a nice sized with a cute stove/fireplace, walk-in shower, large tub, private bathroom, microwave, mini fridge, homemade cookies, and a bottle of nice local wine. Breakfast was surprising upscale with a lot of thought and care put into the dishes: poach pears with walnut cream, crustless quiche, fantastic bread pudding with lemon curd, country bacon. We left SF looking for a hidden wine country experience, different from Sonoma and Napa where I grew up, and found a romantic, homey, and young-folk-friendly getaway. read more

The elegant rooms are private, quiet, impeccably maintained, and couldn't be more comfortable. As a hostess, Carolyn has provided touching personal accommodations way above and beyond our expectations. The excellent recommendations she provides for activities, dining, and wineries are consistently among our favorite experiences in Paso Robles. Let me count the ways. So we have travelled all Over the world and have stayed in a multitude of places. In short, we are fussy, and often difficult people. So, The Chanticleer Inn; a home away from home that both encompasses elegance and panache. Lisa and Robert, are quite simply from another universe. Their arms stretched out, they welcomed us into their establishment with kindness and care we simply not have seen anywhere on our travels. So, what's it like. It's heaven. The rooms are bespoke, cared for and u simply sink into the bed. The atmosphere hugs u like an old friend who u haven't seen in years; temperament is both loving and all encapsulating. It's as if u have left and come home. Least we forget the breakfast. Each morning, lisa would greet us with a loving smile. Her joy in feeding us can only be compared to an exuberant mother feeding a child for the first time. The food wraps around your palate, reminding you how innocence and that delight should feel. No two meals were the same, no two meals were left unfinished!!! And as for Robert; our days were filled with both guidance and kIndness. We were steered to the right wineries and they did not disappoint. If u are looking for a familial experience that won't disappoint, then Chanticleer will not disappoint. Our weekend retreat at this lovely bed and breakfast was just that. A total retreat! To begin with the setting is amazing. You are close to town but surrounded by rural countryside. You wake up in the morning and see, smell and listen to nature at its finest from your very own deck. Carolyn and Roland have gone above and beyond to make this an experience to remember. Carolyn is an amazing cook and the breakfasts were as varied as they were delicious. She also managed and booked our dinner reservations for us. Roland is warm, friendly and quite the raconteur. Breakfast conversation was very animated and convivial.
