My husband and I just had a lovely stay at Kindred Oak Farm with another couple. We stayed in the Adelaida and Templeton Gap rooms. The rooms we beautifully decorated and comfortable. All the amenities provided, including luxury linens, pour over coffee, toiletries, and flowers from the cutting garden. The deck was comfortable and peaceful. Lisa has done an incredible job with the decor, which I would describe as "farmhouse elegant". The breakfast that she and Chef Matt prepared and served was delicious - truly farm-to-table, encorporating veggies from the organic garden. The grounds are perfect for long walks or hikes, and include a game room, small driving range, fire pit, and many cozy spots to sit, relax and enjoy the lovely views. Rob and Lisa were terrific hosts, offering to make wine tasting and dining reservations as well. I would give The Kindred Oak Farm a 10++, and intend to plan my future Paso trips to include a stay at KOF. read more

Chanticleer is the perfect quiet getaway hosted by the sweetest couple imaginable. A beautiful home with a lovely deck overlooking the vineyards is the perfect view when enjoying your morning coffee alongside the delightful breakfast prepared by the owner. The rooms are spacious and newly remodeled, some with their own decks. Further into the 50 acre property, there is a restored barn that now acts as a game room. Billiards, darts, horse shoes, TV, a BBQ and brick oven as well as many other forms of entertainment can be found there. From freshly made breakfasts to access to countless winery's and downtown Paso Robles, it's an incredible stay! I would recommend to anyone and everyone! read more

For our 35th wedding anniversary our children gave us a 2 night stay at the Chanticleer Vineyard Bed & Breakfast. It was priceless. Carolyn & Roland were so sweet and made you feel so comfortable. The moral of the Chaucer fable The Chanticleer and the Fox, is never trust a flatterer. An ironic lesson, given that my review of Chanticleer Vineyard B&B is full of flattery and praise. My wife and two sons (home for winter break) recently spent two nights with hosts Lisa and Rob in their beautiful three-suite inn situated on twenty beautiful acres in the heart of the Paso Robles wine country. Having never visited this area before, we selected it randomly, but we could not have selected any better. Everything about our short stay was spot on. Although relative newcomers to the B&B business, Rob and Lisa have it down. Well appointed rooms with views and decks. High Quality linens that even our college boys commented on. A bottle of GOOD local vino in each of suite. Pour over coffee en suite for before breakfast. Plenty of freshly brewed coffee and juices with breakfast. And locally sourced breads, eggs, fruits, nuts, meats, muffins, etc prepared and presented beautifully in their relaxed dining room with valley and goat views. That's right, goat views. Besides the cat that has roamed and ruled the grounds long before Lisa and Robb, there are four Nigerian pigmy goats who could not have been more entertaining, especially when they accompanied us on our walk to the barn down by the dry creek bed and beautiful old oaks. As we walked down the steep hill, the mini-herd seemed to parkour their way down besides us. As we set out on our day of exploration and wine tasting, we did so not only with full stomachs, but also a full -- and very good -- list of the best vineyards to visit and local favorite view spots, places to grab a bite, and map that Lisa took time to go over with us. My husband and I recently stayed at the Chanticleer B & B in Paso Robles, Ca. for our second time. Our stay was very lovely. I stayed here back in 2008 with my husband based on the reviews we read online. We vacation in Paso Robles often, but this was by far the best weekend, and I think it's mostly because of where we stayed. We stayed in the largest of the 3 rooms - very spacious, fireplace, fantastic bathroom with a soaking tub and a little sitting area just outside our room that overlooks the hills/vineyards. Carolyn was the most gracious and hospitable host. Her cooking alone will bring me back! After a long day of wine tasting my husband and I had dinner at a local restaurant. When we arrived back at Chanticleer, Carolyn had soft music playing with ambient lighting in both the sitting room and outside patio where we sipped her wine and enjoyed the stars. We will definitely be back and recommend this place to our friends. read more

What wonderful location and fantastic host. We will always try to get one of the three rooms every time we go to Paso Robles. I took my wife for the weekend and it couldn't have gone better. The food was great. The grounds were enchanting. Carolyn was very accommodating. She was very knowledgeable of wineries and restaurants to visit. My wife and I came here from West Los Angeles, to get away for a couple days and enjoy the beautiful scenery and kind people of the Central Coast...and the wine of course. The location is very serene, Carolyn takes great pride in providing that "home" feeling and it manifests itself in multiple ways. The morning breakfast, with eggs from her chickens are outstanding, I recommend asking ahead of time about her Heuvos Rancheros - that kind of cooking takes a lot of time and love. The lower level room has an amazing view of the sunrise, unless there's fog which is arguably just as fine by those of us that appreciate nature's whims. Plenty of Internet access for those that want a reasonable "off the grid" experience. Location is everything and they've pretty much nailed it. We didn't get enough time to really explore the 20 acres of land on which this little slice of paradise resides, but according to Roland you should really take the time, and I agree. Highly recommend and will return soon for another visit. read more

Beautiful quaint Bed and Breakfast in an excellent location - the heart of wine country! The hosts (Roland and Carolyn) are extremely gracious and kind, more than willing to accommodate any need or travel request you have. The rooms are clean, well-organized and stocked with all the basic necessities, but in very close proximity to each other (this means that even though you will have your own entrance/exit, you are wall-to-wall with someone else - just a heads up). Truly, the hosts make this place one of the better B&B's that we have visited in Paso, I can't say enough about their graciousness and wonderful hospitality. I would give this place a five star rating if it weren't for the breakfast "situation." Carolyn is a WONDERFUL cook - her food is truly superb. However, the breakfast is set up "family reunion" style, where everyone dines at a certain time (promptly), around the same table together. You receive one plate (one portion) each, and have to socialize with the other couples throughout the meal. Can be awkward if you are not a morning person, and/or are stuck with uncomfortable couples. However, if you are an energetic, outgoing morning person and love to meet new people on your vacation - this is the perfect spot for you :) read more

We found Chanticleer by accident. What a great accident! We spent two nights there and did not want to leave. A beautiful location and exceptional hosts. Very peaceful.We spent a lot of our weekend sitting on the deck outside our room just unwinding and looking at the view. The night sky was full of stars. Chanticleer is located a short drive from the town of Paso Robles. The scenery is fantastic. Breakfast exceptional. Plenty of nearby wineries and tasting rooms. This was my third time here. Roland, a retired firefighter, and Carolyn, a retired nurse, are delightful hosts. They provide luxury accomodations, three rooms with serene vineyards views, balcony, mini-fridge, microwave, in-room coffee and tea, cookies and sweets, soaking tubs, soft sheets, gourmet breakfast and a bottle of local wine included. Two friendly dogs and two cats are on the property. We were in Room 1 this time, whicn also has a gas fireplace. 10 per cent discount for active and retired military. The property is conveniently located not far from downtown Paso Robles and many wineries and the hosts can help guide you on local restaurants and wineries. read more

My husband and I have stayed at the Chanticleer B&B several times over the past few years and I've never been let down once. Carolyn and Roland truly know how to property run an B&B and they always go the extra mile to make your stay special and enjoyable. The rooms are cozy with the most amazing views of the vineyards. The breakfast Carolyn makes is one of the best breakfasts I've ever had! Best part is she shares her recipes in a cookbook you can purchase, so you can make at home as well! The location is most ideal. Not too far from Hwy 101, but far enough away so you don't hear any traffic noise. We often takes walks down the the barn in the evening to enjoy playing a game of pool, music or to get even closer to nature. If you haven't yet stayed here, you must do so at least once in your lifetime. We always leave feeling incredibly relaxed and wanting to schedule our next stay. read more

They have a knack for knowing what each guest wants and needs. We love this place and try to get there as often as our schedule permits. If you're visiting Paso Robles, CA - there are numerous Bed & Breakfasts (B&B's) from which to choose. Do yourself a favor and stay with Carolyn and Roland at The Chanticleer. We were fortunate to stay there for my birthday weekend. This was our first visit, but most definitely not our last. Carolyn and Roland have created a welcoming atmosphere with amazing accommodations. They have 3 rooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. We stayed in Room #1, which will be "our" room for all future visits. The room is complete with a fireplace, a sunken tub, a wonderful shower with side jets (already miss that shower), and a private balcony with a most phenomenal view. Carolyn knows how to add the "personal touch" to all she does. She's a phenomenal chef - her gourmet breakfasts were amazing! She also includes homemade cookies for each room - replenishing them daily! Can't wait for our next visit! read more
