    Oat pancakes
    Dianna S.

Oh my goodness! I have been wanting to dine at Kinfolk for months but didn't have the chance until this past Saturday. I went one time but it was too busy and to go was a no go that day. I was disappointed but was so HAPPY I got to try the food Saturday. The restaurant was very busy again so I got my order to go. I ordered online and waited for about twenty to thirty minutes. It was well worth the wait. I have seen pics of the inside and the decorations remind me of a nice diner. I will elaborate when I actually dine in. My food was AMAZING! I had the hot honey chicken sandwich on a buttery biscuit. The tangy sauce was on the side. The piece of chicken was huge. It is a chicken thigh breaded with a crunchy coating then fried. I believe the chicken is then marinated in the wonderful hot honey sauce. So tasty! I also had to try the oat pancakes. Those were very fluffy and tasted awesome with the unique butter and maple syrup. The oat flour is very smooth. I enjoyed the my food tremendously. I wanted to try the grits but they ran out. Will return on a week day at a very early hour before items run out. This place is far from my house so it might be a good thing. If I lived closer, I would be there more frequently. Check this place out! It is delish.

The ambiance is a little crowded feeling, though there is barstool and patio seating. The service is slow... though there were few patrons it took at least/over 20 minutes for the server (to even visit me to bring water/beverage) to take my order and another/at least/over 20 plus minutes before I was served. The food is interesting and the chef accommodating of requests. I would not return. The $4 cup of mediocre coffee was never warmed/refilled. 70% of my order was To Go and (see above) service took forever. Yet, I was NOT warned/told (consider this your heads-up) but charged a 20% gratuity. T.I.P. means, To Insure Prompt service--nothing prompt about this service. And again(!!!) the majority of my bill was To Go/take out.

The food is beautiful. I'm writing this while picking up my take out order. I'm watching the chef and he's checking every single food item himself before sending it out. The staff is kind and focused. It's a nice environment and a cute location. The griddle cakes are to die for (seriously) and everything else I've had there has tasted super fresh. This place deserves 5 stars and if you give it anything less you just need to go back and give them another chance.

The most perfect sunny up egg ever!

I dig this place.... I really do.... I think the concept is pretty brilliant. I like the layout and interior design a lot and the covered patio between the buildings is just darn rad. It's like a souped up CK's. Menu is small and pretty simple. It seems to be getting smaller each visit actually. Biscuit sandwiches and a handful of other options available for breakfast, and a few more added at lunchtime. You can get breakfast all day. They are showing a meal on the online menu called the "MVP", which is exactly what I wanted on my last visit. This is still on the Kinfolk website as of today 10-14-24, but I was told that they didn't sell it any longer when I dined on 10-11-24. Now, if there were something you didn't have that was a part of that meal, I would understand telling me no, but all of it is all still available in other places on the menu. This is a pet peeve of mine.... Update your damn website! It's not that hard... Rant ended... Biscuits and gravy is freaking phenomenal! All the way. I got the most perfect sunny up egg I have ever had. Beautiful presentation, stupendous spicy sausage flavors, wild crunchy textures with the crumblyness of the biscuit, and the smoothness of a busted yolk to top it off. I could just stay right there in that bite forever if possible. Now that crumble I just spoke so highly of, hurts the biscuit sandwiches in my opinion. They kinda fall apart before you can eat it. You must be creative in your attack to get it in your mouth. I just give up and dunked what fell off in that beautiful jam of his. So it was still a win, plus I can use and knife and fork in a pinch if need be. Fried potatoes have Old Bay. If you like it, good! I warned you if you are that guy like me... I'll see your ass here soon!! '24 - 83/102

Super cute, solid breakfast spot in Harbor Town! The inside looks like an old school southern diner with upscale food. They specialize in biscuit sandwiches, griddle cakes, and breakfast meats. They source local when possible - like the breakfast sausage from a local farm. Great, strong coffee. They have vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and dairy free options (ex: oatmilk). There are a couple of beer and liquor drinks on the menu. The biscuits are delicious- slightly herbed and crumbly, with a sprinkle of sea salt. My breakfast plate came with jam and it was a great sweet/savory combination. The chicken biscuit came with a big hunk of fried chicken and hot honey. Perfectly crisp and juicy chicken! Food was flavorful and done well! Our server was super sweet and attentive. Their branding is cool too - check out their shirts, hats, and bags. Cheeky take on southern swag. 10/10, will definitely be back!

**Kinfolk has recently transitioned to a counter-service restaurant with a limited menu ** We visited on a busy weekend morning, and found the service amazing! Although there was a large clump of people waiting to order or find a table, the staff did a great job of navigating this new style of service and easily moved between taking orders, bussing tables, and delivering food. We ordered the chicken biscuit and the ham, egg, and cheese biscuit. The biscuits were huge and perfectly baked - crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. The chicken biscuit was by far our favorite! Definitely worth a trip to Harbor Town to eat at this cozy and eclectic brunch spot.

Booooyyy that chicken sandwich on that bun with that slaw and them pickles? Out the park on my mother

BLT was amazing ... this is a pic of half .. I devoured the other half before taking the pic - outstanding

First time eating at this Harbor Town eatery ... great breakfast and lunch place. Seating both inside and outside ( we sat outside). You order at the counter, pay, take a number and they bring it out. A lot of people were getting the chicken biscuit which looked great ... but kinda heavy for what I wanted today. Will try that another time. I had a BLT and it was one of the best with fantastic bacon, perfect bread a great tomato's.... I highly recommend. Someone else in the group had a Caesar salad with the fried chicken... was really done well with an added twist of strawberries. Biscuits and gravy looked amazing. Everything looked great , you can't go wrong. Took a stroll to the river walk after to walk off a few calories. We'll be back

I've had the chicken biscuit at a catering event multiple times but yesterday I finally was able to experience the restaurant. The margarita was amazing!!! I can see this becoming a regular spot.

The service and ambiance was great however if you are a vegan be prepared to enjoy orange juice and potatoes. However ver nice place to relax and enjoy the courtyard. Three star for the lack of options only

So I know a lot of people been talking about this place and I was excited to try. But kinda underwhelmed.... I love the concept and this place is so cute but the menu was very underwhelming and limited. Which is okay if that's your thing. The wait wasn't that bad. The girl who checked us in was really nice. But this space is really small so if you have to wait you have to wait outside or in a very small bar area. Be prepared they don't take cash and you have to order and pay before you sit down. Which I wasn't a fan of but whatever. You have to get your own water and it doesn't come with ice lol. For the food..... I was pretty satisfied with the portion sizes but the flavor was lacking. All I was tasting was a hard @$$ biscuit lol. Like idk if it was just the day but both of the chicken sandwiches biscuits was soooo hard. The biscuits and gravy biscuit was kinda saved because it was covered in gravy but the sandwich literally crumbled in my hands as I was eating it. Idk if that's a thing but that kinda turned me off. And my hash brown was superrrrrr salty. I couldn't even eat it. I heard they were really good at the pop ups but a little disappointed in the food I had today. I'll probably come back once the hype dies down. Overall okay experience. I will be back but no time soon.

There is seating inside and outside. The outside dining area is a quaint little courtyard with shade and fans. The food was immaculate in taste and portion size! This place is consistent in flavor and presentation every time! The service is pretty quick and friendly!

Food, service and atmosphere are still great. Keep it up kinfolk. Every time we leave I have already planned out what I'll order next time around.

The aesthetic is really well done. It's warm, modern, and just a place you actually want to hang out in for a while. The staff were great and super helpful, especially when it came to working around a few syrups they were out of. They offered substitutions without any fuss, and it honestly worked out for the better. All of their syrups are made in-house, and you can really taste the difference! They're fresh and not overly sweet or artificial. We ordered a Bourbon Mocha and a Carrot Cake Latte (which was absolutely to die for), and decided to keep breakfast on the lighter side with a slice of sourdough and two cinnamon rolls. The cinnamon rolls, though, are not your typical style. Instead of the usual big, fluffy roll, they spiral the dough tightly and bake it that way. The result is this super fun, peel-apart situation where you're unraveling layer after layer. It feels like there are eight layers of cinnamon-sugar goodness to work through! Overall, Hustle & Dough has great coffee, thoughtful house-made syrups, unique pastries, and a really welcoming vibe. Definitely a spot I'd go back to next time I'm in Memphis.

I was seated fairly promptly. I asked for a teaspoon for my coffee (was provided a soup spoon). The server didn't remove the 2nd table service until I was 1/2 way through my meal. This restaurant is upper mid 'quality' yet the table service provided a "diners" coffee mug instead of a cup and saucer. I asked, and got, cream with my coffee (not packages). I don't eat pork--there are no non-pork meat options. The menu (and server) represent the croissants and muffins as "fresh baked." I think the croissants are store bought nuked, they're a bit soggy and became rubbery as they cooled (not buttery/flakey). I ordered my side of eggs over-medium and they arrived over-hard. The breakfast, is over-priced. The location and ambiance should/could be exceptional. I'm clearly disappointed. (They might want to look at The Capital Hotel in LR for ideas.)

The only redeeming part of the evening was our waitress who clearly worked her butt off to make sure we were taken care of. She was sweet and hard working. But at the end of the day, I don't want to have to feel sorry for the wait staff because of a terrible decision obviously made by management to overbook a prepaid experience. Overall, I'm not sure if I'd ever be willing to give Paulette's another try after the evening we had.
