    Egg Bhurji Plate
    Loreto D.

Nice little hidden gem in Oakland. It's a chill spot to hang out at and they serve good lattes. They get their baked goods from Starter Bakery. My hubs and I got the Egg Bhurji Plate and I liked it. It's like a Mediterranean style omelette. The toast was nicely toasted and buttery. The ketchup used for the omelette had a nice spicy kick. They also have a book shelf for the fellow readers and a couple of games in stock. So yea, I'd come back.

This place has been open for a whole year and I'm just now visiting! I ordered the bananas foster latte, hot per Lena's recommendation and it was so good. They have a bunch more yummy flavors and I look forward to coming back to try more. They have food options here as well, a beautiful spacious interior with plenty of seating, and lots of community flyers and events up. Really nice place to work or just kick it. RnB music bumping too. Thank you Soul Blends!

Coffee wasn't great, service and food was. Look at the light color of the iced latte..Definitely try the breakfast sandwich with egg and cheese, well worth $8. Coffee was $6.75 for iced latte, too pricey for the taste

I think coming here healed me from a slump. Great local coffee shop to visit for a morning or afternoon pick me up. There are people here meeting friends or doing work with the free WiFi. They leave the door and windows open in the summer for a warm and welcoming atmosphere. I got the banana fosters latte (4/5). Could definitely use a bit more banana flavor but the milk to espresso ratio was perfect.

First time here & I love it. The playlist is amazing, the vibe is warm and welcoming. The coffee is just right, not too sweet, not too bitter. They have indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for reading, chatting with friends or working. They also have books, card and board games. A very cute spot, instagrammable, and the staff is so friendly. If you like pastries, you'll love it here. They get them from Oaklandia (another local bakery located downtown). I will definitely be back.

Hmm literally the smallest burrito I've ever received. I've heard about the burritos here so decided to it! The size was so small compared to everyone's photos online. The hot sauce was flavorful, burrito was very simple. Coffee is bomb! I got the brown butter carmel latte, half sweet, with oat milk iced. Ambiance is nice inside. A good spot if you needed to work for the day and vibey music.

Banana's Foster & Honey Lavender Pistachio

Cute, standalone coffee shop located in West Oakland. No parking lot but lots of surrounding street parking available. A few seats outside and a decent amount of indoor seating. I tried both the Banana's Foster & Honey Lavender Pistachio (both with oat milk) and couldn't really decide which I preferred more. I didn't love the amount of cinnamon that topped off the banana's foster because it was a bit overpowering. I also would've also liked if the honey lavender pistachio had more of a lavender flavor. The service was ok, nothing special. However, Soul Blends is a great simple space to work or read since it is quiet.

This business was recommended by a woman at my church. My daughter and I had our lunch there today and was greeted by one of the team players. We felt so welcomed. I ordered an Avocado toast with a Soul Chai Drink. OMG! So delicious. We sat outside and had our mommy & daughter talk. Thank you Soul Blends for being a blessing. BAOO

Not a huge shop but a good number of tables inside and some space available on a Friday afternoon.

Good vibes and good coffee at 32nd St. and Louise. I like the name, Soul Blends Coffee. I saw some good reviews on Yelp! And had a chance to drive by on a sunny day. It was all good vibes when I heard Al Green on the sound system. I had a whole milk iced latte that was absolutely delicious. So smooth. But really rich flavor. Good coffee. Not a huge coffee shop but a good number of tables inside and some space available on a Friday afternoon. Hours 8-4 'cept Tuesday and 5-9 Wednesday-Sunday.

Soul Blends' lst brick & mortar shop opened here recently. Of course, their proprietary coffee roasts are featured. Small dining area inside-10ish tables. outside, a few tables on the perimeter. Didn't see menus on line so came in cold. Menus on wall not easy to decipher. Faint writing in pastry cabinet not legible. Offerings (food): avocado toast, burritos, pastries, (drinks): drips, espresso, lattes, coffee blends, teas. Sips: dark roast covfefe (4.5) black -dark roast partially available. Fill completed with medium roast. Smooth ambiance. Combo blend lacked artisan definition, easily sippable. Bites: seasonal danish (5) -dryish, barely moist. Slightly chewy. Had consistency of day old or improperly stored pastry. -didn't have unique taste, fruit slices slightly crunchy.. 4.5 stars: single server courteous, efficient. Steady stream of patrons. Decor has lots of character... Some imperfections occurred on an obvious off day. ..Street parking..

It was my first time at this coffee shop and I am so glad I came here. It was a chill Sunday morning and when I walked in, I was pleasantly surprised the aesthetics of this place is just beautiful. There's plans and light colors and the vibe is warm. I ordered a bananas fosters coffee as it was the most popular and I seated myself on a lounge chair in the lounging seating area. I was soaking in the vibe and I was loving it. I later moved to a table as I wanted to be sitting up. After I sat drinking my mug, I later ordered another popular coffee- Creamy coconut. It was good as well but my preference was with the banana fosters, as it was blended into the soul of the coffee. LOVE LOVE LOVE the vibe, the ambiance, service and coffee!! Definitely recommend the banana fosters coffee!!!

Wow what a vibe! I came here with my book club girlies on a Sunday around midday and it was easy to find parking. Though it was a lazy Sunday, it was very lively inside with every table taken. Everyone was hanging around chit-chatting and it looked like there might have even been another book club happening as well! I love that the space is cozy with wooden tables and cute cafe chairs, and little lounging chairs around while there was moody artwork and plants along the walls. There is also a bookshelf on the way to the back that has a great selection of books from Black authors. Though it was my first time there, I felt comfortable and at home, which is rare for me. In true cafe style, they have light bites and a variety of coffee and tea drinks. I got a pistachio lavender latte that was very good and me and friend split an aioli avocado toast. My drink had a nice coffee fragrance and the pistachio and lavender flavors came through but weren't overpowering. The avo toast was loaded with avocado and was topped with some fresh veg and cute little sprouts. Our other friends got the bananas foster latte and really enjoyed that as well. All said, Soul Blends is an excellent place for a cozy book club meeting or even just a chill place to catch up with friends.

Avocado toast each with different sauce, two lattes

I'm so excited about this place! Beautifully and simply designed. A great place to meet a friend for coffee, maybe even get some work done. It was busy but not overly loud. Staff were so very friendly, welcoming, and helpful! The presentation of everything was beautiful and delicious! They have a wide variety of unique latte flavors. I had the bananas foster latte and the honey lavender pistachio latte and both were great! They weren't too sweet, just a subtle flavor which I prefer. The avocado toast tasted just as good as it looked! I prefer the green sauce over the chipotle sauce. The chipotle sauce was good but the smokiness overpowered the avocado in my opinion.

I pedaled my bike over there this Wednesday morning, aiming to secure a proper breakfast that would actually carry me past 11 a.m. The shop is cozy, definitely on the smaller side with a few seats inside, giving it that familiar, neighborhood spot feel. It's not a sprawling, antiseptic café, and I appreciate that. I ordered the Laney Breakfast Sandwich, which features egg, fresh spinach, sliced turkey, and Swiss cheese on a toasted English muffin. What impressed me was the intentionality--this wasn't something sitting under a heat lamp, looking defeated. It was clearly made to order. The egg was seasoned right, the turkey wasn't flimsy, and the spinach added that necessary fresh bite. It was a damn good sandwich, simple as that. I paired that with the Berry Lovers Smoothie. The original recipe calls for banana, but I asked if they could swap that out for mango. My people know that mango adds a different kind of sunshine, and they executed the substitution flawlessly. It came out thick, perfectly blended--a rich mix of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and that mango kick. It was super refreshing and didn't taste like I was drinking melted ice. The service was quick and friendly, which is key on a weekday morning. Everything tasted clean, fresh, and intentionally prepared. If you're looking for high-quality breakfast fare that feels less commercial and more like something someone actually cares about, stop by. The short bike ride and the intimate seating are worth it for what comes out of that kitchen. They earned this review.

Our orders were taken and we sat down to wait. There were a TON OF FLIES buzzing around and I kept having to wave them off especially when we got our order to the table, which honestly was gross. We were called to pick up our order, but only 1 of the 4 items was ready: Zadie's Masterpiece Breakfast Sando - Really tasty and enjoyed the biscuit it was on. Skimpy on the bacon, there was ONE piece but overall good breakfast sandwich. Next item ready 5 minutes later: Khadija's Slow Burn Harissa Hot Honey Breakfast Burrito - Really tasty. Definitely flavor packed and would order this again. *BUT there was an issue. Apparently the person that ordered before us asked for the same burrito to go...they NEVER got it and yet our order was ready. The person was pretty cool about it but they were definitely annoyed and gave us a look although it wasn't our fault. *The ordering system seems unorganized with the cashier writing orders on a slip of receipt paper and putting them on a stand by the kitchen. I wonder if the slips were out of order or fell and they skipped this persons to go order? IDK but they need a better system! We tried waiting for our coffees before starting to eat but then our food started getting cold...YOU KNOW WHY?... because the poor person that was taking orders was also in charge of making drinks. Having one person as cashier and barrista is NOT a good idea on a busy Saturday morning. It was hard for them to take a moment and focus on the drinks becuase people kept coming in an placing orders which means we waited for 20+ minutes before getting our drinks. By then our food was mostly eaten! Thankfully we noticed they had a water pitcher for free water which was a saving grace! The wait for drinks was so long that people that were already sitting when we arrived and had already eaten their food were JUST getting their drinks before us. HORRIBLE! I felt really bad for the cashier/barista :( Another turn off, there is no understanding on what to do with dirty dishes. Do we bus our table? If so where do we put it? We noticed people leaving plates by the water pitcher and cups, some put them on the long counter by the coffee area. There wasn't a garbage or compost bin, so we weren't sure where to put food scraps. There was a bin for "Plastic Only" but only the cup lids were plastic and the cup itself was paper, so where TF do you put that? We noticed a black plastic bin that someone had brought out from the back, so we placed our stuff in there but wasn't exactly sure. We tried to ask the cashier/barista but they were slammed with customers so we ccouldn't get their attention. IDK the place is just poorly organized and messy! There are tables for people to make artwork which is nice but on a busy Saturday it might have been nice to clean those areas up to allow people to sit. Sorry guys... *You need a dedicated barista! People waiting 20+ minutes for drinks is insane especially when the food comes out relatively fast. *Please clean up your restaurant. The amount of flies was gross and no one wants to swat them away from food & drinks. *Tell people if they should bus their own tables and if so.... *Make it clear where to leave plates, cups, garbage, compost etc.
