I had an absolutely fabulous experience with King Appliance. Jesus is the father and Jose and Emmanuel are his sons. What led me to King Appliance is my beloved old Maytag washer and dryer finally weren't worth repairing anymore after 25 years. I wanted an "old school" washer where the water will fill up on large loads and there is a central agitator. I was desperate for a new washer since my old Maytag broke down with a full load of laundry in it. So I went by King Appliance. They happened to have a Whirlpool washer and dryer pair in very good cosmetic condition that they backed with a 90 day warranty. So I purchased the washer and dryer and Jose installed them the very next day! But I experienced some issues on my first wash, where it leaked a little water on the floor and the warm water was cool and not warm. So I texted Jesus and Jose came out later that same day and replaced those malfunctioning parts (they had to order the parts and were able to get them same day). And I now have a washer and dryer that has gone through many loads of laundry and works beautifully! All for a fraction of the cost of buying new. I'm thrilled! I also needed a "new" dishwasher since my 15 year old KitchenAid was making grinding noises and a repairman several months ago said the KitchenAid motors are so expensive it's better to buy new. So I researched a new KitchenAid at Home Depot before I discovered King Appliance. Well, when I was buying the washer and dryer, Jesus asked if I needed anything else. I said a stainless steel KitchenAid dishwasher. He showed me one and it was the exact model I was going to buy at Home Depot! Needless to say, I bought it and he gave me his few month warranty on it. I had a used washer machine whirlpool that wasn't working. When it was turn on, it shakes like it going to run out of the house. Not only that, it also makes loud noise like an airplane. I called server place for prices fixing it, they all charge from $70-100 to find the diagnosis, if I decided not to fix it, I will pay for it, if I decided to fix it,, it will goes to the labor and parts. I watch couples demo on YouTube for the problems as most of it claim that it causes by balancing, the barrier or the shock. I decide to drove to King Appliances to looked for a washer machine. The shop is located in a warehouse as the entrance can be scary and dirty with all the dirty and used appliance displace in front. Jose help me right away that he can stop by to take a look at the problem within a hour after a delivery and will charge $30. He called and let me know that he is on the way. He came and discovered that the reason why the washing machine making noise and shaking because the 4 area on the back had not removed the screw after used. He say that every washing machine must have it removed before use. The problem was fixed within 20 minutes. I am so glad I gave him a chance to stop by and fix the problem! I typically only write 1 or 5 star reviews. The 1 star reviews only come when I am wronged or the product is just horrible. In this instance, both occurred. I had so many frustrating experiences with this company, but one individual in particular, Jose. This is a lengthy review and I apologize in advance, but I probably spent 5 hours over a period of three weeks coordinating, communicating, driving to and from, etc for these issues. I have a rental house in San Jose and ordered a washer and dryer after our old one broke down. It was installed successfully. About a week later I got a call from my tenant that there was water and soap all over our cork flooring. I called Jose and told him. He said he'd go by and assess. He ran a full load, no leak, so he said it must have been the tenants fault for using the wrong type of detergent or too much detergent. I know, you're thinking what I was thinking....really?! Does the type of detergent matter? My tenant said, uhh no, I filled it up to the proper line. A few days later, got a call from my tenant....soap and water all over the floor again. Call Jose again, he said it had to be the plumbing backing up. I told the tenant this and he told me that even though he's not a plumber he's pretty sure it's not the plumbing. He said that he checked the drain pipe right after it leaked all over the floor and it was bone dry. I relayed this information to Jose and he said that it absolutely had to be the plumbing because a machine doesn't work one time and not the next. I said can you explain why the drain pipe is dry when you're telling me that it's backing up? I'm not a plumber either, but I do have common sense and that didn't add up. After 15 minutes of basically arguing back and forth, Jose's reply was that he's been doing this for years and that I didn't know what I was talking about. So he went out again, ran another load, no leak. I told him that if it leaked again, I wanted a refund. They said they don't give refunds, that they will give a replacement. I was at my wits end and demanded to talk to the owner. He was saying pretty much the same things. Well, the machine leaked a 3rd time on my floor. Oh, keep in mind every time they went out they didn't clean up any of the water or soap, just worked around it and left me or the tenant to clean it up. At one point I was speaking for my tenant about something and Jose muttered "that friggin guy." I lost it and said, are you implying that my tenant is somehow at fault here? He said, "I just wanna be done with your house, I've been out there three times now and spent hours on this." Yeah don't worry about mine or my tenants time or my floors. He is definitely the most unprofessional businessman I've ever encountered. So this next time they actually took apart the machine and low and behold, there was a complete tear in one of the internal hoses. Was there an apology? No. "You're using the wrong soap, too much soap, it's the plumbing, you don't know what you're talking about, I've been doing this for years, the machine wouldn't work one time and not another." All that BS and still couldn't admit you were wrong. They replaced the hose and guess what, the damn machine leaked again. I demanded a refund..... again. They said no so I talked to the owner and he said they would replace it the next day. My wife said to just be done with them and we should buy a new unit. I have never thought like this, but I entertained the idea of taking them to small claims court, just on principle. Instead of being out $800 I gave it one more try and they brought a replacement set. I finally got the owner to agree to a refund if this new set didn't work. Well, 30 mins after they delivered the new set, my tenant texted me pictures of pure nastiness. The soap tray and that entire area inside the machine were totally covered in scum and mildew. See pictures. He also noticed a water rust stain going down the front of the machine, which could only mean it was a leaky machine as well. I called and Jose said that machine must have slipped through their inspection process. Joke. I called the owner and demanded my money back. He had the audacity to tell me he would only refund the washer because nothing was wrong with the dryer. At this point I was cursing saying if that's how you want to run your business then fine, just refund me the washer. I think he actually felt bad and refunded me both. We actually used this company for our primary residence as well, prior to this fiasco. Funny thing is, we had to get a unit replaced with them as well. So out of the 4 units they tried with us, only 1 of them works. It's still working well too. All I can say is this, only use this company if you're absolutely desperate and broke. Otherwise, spend a bit more money and buy a new product with a warranty. It's absolutely not worth the hassle. If you do go with them, you cannot say you weren't warned. read more

My refrigerator wasn't working properly in my home and I called Emmanuel to help diagnose it. He was able to help me on the same day and it took him 5-10 minutes to assess that there was a leak and determined that the best course of action was to get a brand new one. If he repaired it, it would just be a temporary band-aid and that other potential problems may happen. Fortunately, he happened to have a brand new GE Cafe in his stock and offered me a very good price. Pretty much almost half of the retail cost. OMG Thanksgiving Eve and the stove is not working! Of course, I called and text Manual. I received his number from my sister who had her stove fixed the week before. He answers the text while in LA with his family. He first asked me to send a pic. Then he troubleshoots/diagnoses the problem on his his vacations, Thanksgiving eve!! I was in a pinch to find the impossible! A fridge to fit my studio kitchen apartment space and the area that the fridge was to fit in is 26" wide. I have been combing the whole Bay Area today trying to find this unicorn of a fridge. And with the supply chain issues we are having right now the prices for used fridges are outrageous! Emmanuel saved me from having to replace my Kenmore washing machine, which I love! My machine wasn't emptying the water before spinning. I spoke to people at three appliance repair companies who told me it was probably the timer, which would cost about $300 to replace. All of them said the timer needed to be ordered, which could take 2 days or 2 weeks. I bought my machine in 2007, so... should I repair for $300 or buy a new one for $700?? And what kind?? After visiting Home Depot and Lowes, I decided to visit an Appliance store. I hadn't read reviews, but King Appliance was relatively close to home. I had no idea they sold used appliances. I explained the problem to Emmanuel and he determine within minutes that it was not the timer, but the door latch. This place is a scam. I bought a washer and dryer from this place. After three and half months ( just out of three months warranty), both machines broke. If one machine breaks, maybe I just have bad luck, but both? What the heck?! This place is untrustworthy. I called the place, he guy totally refuse to do anything because it is out of warranty. Ok if it's one machine, I said tough luck. When two out of two broke? It only means this place is a scam. Then to minimize my lost, I offered to sell both machine back to him for 50. But he refused. Lol. He knows both of these pieces are trash and would not himself spend a dime on them. Just to be more detailed about what's wrong with the machines. The dryer heating element would not turn off. If you shut down the machine it will turn back on by itself! Talking about fire hazard. The washer machine doesn't spin. You get wet cloth every time. And I believe all the other reviews are probably written by his friends. If you check the reviews, most of them doesn't look legit. So save yourself some money. Called for a washer ad I saw on Craigslist and they did next day delivery. This was the 3rd seller on craigslist I was contacting to buy a washer from. The first two sellers flaked and make King Appliance look super reliable. Therefore, the first three stars are just for them showing up, with a washer, when they said they would, and being reliable and communicative. Also super cool they give a 60 day warranty. They even told me which cycles work best and which take a little longer on the new washer. That earned the fourth star. The fifth star came with the incredible deal they gave me. Jose and I had worked out a good deal for an older washer (which already earned them 5/5 stars), but he ended up actually bringing a newer one just to make sure I'd be satisfied! And at the end he took $10 off the delivery fee. I think he gave me the best washer I could have possibly found for my price range. I'm so grateful this was so simple and fast. I purchased a refrigerator on 07/16/20, within 2 months the rails holding items on the door broke, not 1, but all 3. 1 was already cracked & taped together. I let it go because this was a refurbished unit. Then a plastic piece holding a drawer broke, making the drawer useless to me. All this within 5 months of owning this. 2 days ago, my freezer went out & all of my food spoiled. I called this morning & was basically accused of breaking the unit, myself. Oscar was really helpful, pointing out little details regarding the various models of washers they had in stock. Great prices. Great selection. Speedy delivery - they brought the washer the next day, and they hauled the old one away, too. I'll definitely call them again. BTW, if you don't have a pickup truck and a helper, take them up on the delivery. I had no idea how heavy a washer was till I got home and tried to pull the old one out. No way I would have done this by myself! Also, according to Oscar, some washers can leak gear oil from the transmission if not hauled upright, potentially damaging the washer - not to mention the interior of your vehicle. I went in 6 months ago and bought a refrigerator and dryer from the owner, he said he would have his son deliver both refrigerator & dryer. When the son came to deliver he broke one of my steps and did not tell me, he also had his cousin helping him and he constantly criticized him saying he wasn't all there mentally which was very rude to treat a person like that. He then texts me at 3:41 asking if I was home, I say no (the time frame he gave me was 5-6) I rush home and am waiting and he doesn't show up or call so at 5:45 I call him asking if he's still coming and he's rude to me telling me he's still busy on another service call that was ahead of my time. He's literally acting like I'm inconveniencing him. I tell him I'm going by the time you gave me, he then says he has about another 30 minuets left at the job he's at now then he'll come to my house. I ask an approximate time and he says I can't give you a time, what if there is traffic, what if something happens, I can not give you a time. For 95% of the people coming here will be a waste of time. I came here based on a friend experience who purchased a basic old white top loader washer. If your looking for anything specific (brand/color/specs) for a used/refurbished washer, forget about it and move on. I came looking for a charcoal color front loader washer...and based on the guy's comment about; "he can call me if he got anything on the next couple of days", I thought, "oh cool". I'll leave my number, and if he gets anything "charcoal color" I'll come back, and check it out. Then he just acted like he never made that comment...when I said, "well take down my number". Then, he says, "I'm not going to hold your number for a year". I was thinking, WTF!!! I never said, hold on to it for a year. Like I'm going to wait for a year to buy a washer. Whatever!!!! No common sense here. Then...I thought with a humble self-made business....that they would at least have common sense, and give themselves a decent chance at gaining a potential future customer, or at least gain someone who would pass on a referral by taking the time to follow up with me. If I was this guy...I would have taken my potential customer's number, and taken the time to call if something close to what my customer was looking for, or even called back, and said, "sorry...nothing has come in, and I understand you probably bought something already". Best case...I would have never made a comment to my potential customer about "leaving a phone number". Offered full one yr warranty, and fridge ran out of freon so they brought an entire new one out. Fast fwd to now. Living in SJ, I looked for years for something similar and being disappointed w habitat for humanitys selection of fridges opened maps, saw king appliance. Didn't read reviews, often I don't, want to see for myself. Older son helped me first visit, very nice, soft spoken, measured to make sure fridge would fit, and holy cow, I could get a bottom freezer for cheap! Has one gash in front, (cosmetic) and its not stainless, don't really care. Gave me small additional discount. They have brand new appilances and they have ones they refurbish. Have to really inspect the one you want, and call them if there is an issue right away. They take cards, $5.00 charge. They deliver locally for free, same day. Father comes, says freon is only at 1 lb, puts some in, says he would be back next day with a computer part, new fan. Made a quick fix, came today installed part, working once again! 1-21-18: fridge lights don't turn on when door opens until the 4 th time of opening the door. Temp stuck at 58, not even close to temp food needs. Will have to call for fridge again today Now the dryer, it shuts off after 3 min on a 'cycle' vs timed dry. Brought tool at HD, $20 and cleaned out entire back of dryer, and vent to outside. In the process or maybe beforehand the duct work to outside fell apart. Will have to stick duct cleaner from HD down vent and see where it lands under house. Not really willing to climb in crawl space in the meantime ordered an indoor vent trap, not ideal but hot air is leaving machine and out under house. Technically air from dryer just being pushed under house and there is definitely no clog. Dryer.. Still turns off on cycle. 1-23-18: update: dryer was switched out, was a steam kennmore, got an LG sensor dry minus steam. Steam km was cool bc u didn't need a water line just add a little water to top dispenser. And could hook it into WiFi, operate from app. Unfortunate the offer to fix it never materialized. LG works, Doesn't shut off, and has lits of bells and whistles, child lock, more time, sanitize. Maybe it will grow on us.. Meh. Fridge temp now at its target of 38 and freezer 0. Turns out too many condiment jars, weight, was on its French door style, and prevented it from closing and fan kicking on. 2-9-18: we are 2 for two, fridge not working, going today to pick out new one. ugh! No fridges in stock in our needed size. Went to fry's to compare possible replacement king is offering, more updated at fry's but runs around $17-1500 new in box. So going with King swap out this GE for LG, stainless steel, more updated French door style. Called around to local appilance pp one wanted $100 delivery charge, one had no showroom, was his house, and one on east side has a 33 wide french door used, but it was $500. LG coming today, fingers crossed, fry's labels floor models supposedly w green tag, when we brought our washer at fry's, it was in front labeled floor model. Seems a true FM does not exsist at fry's.
