I called in my order for lunch break. I ordered chicken wings and noodles. My order was confirmed by a lady on the phone. When I got there I was told that they changed their mind about selling me noodles because they have a catering event. I asked for rice instead. I was told the same. I stayed patient and ordered the wings. Then she got my order wrong and told me it was my fault. I repeated my order 3 times at that point. One time over the phone. Two times in person. She seemed too busy to focus on a customer. It seemed like I was trouble to her. It seemed like she just wanted to take whatever money she could get and didnt care what I got out of it. Customer service here is very poor. Consideration towards lunch break customers is non existant. Im surprised they wouldnt sell me one order of noodles or one order of rice due to catering. The menu looks great but when you service the public at large and make lots of $$$ on a daily basis, as a business you should provide customers with optional payment methods. Easily the best Chinese food I've had in the Milpitas area. Small, family owned restaurant that is takeout only and only accepts cash. You would expect them to make your food ready to go for a phone order, but no, you have to show up earlier and pay and THEN they'll start making your order. I tried King Chicken Wing for the first time on Christmas and will definitely be back. Being named King Chicken Wing, I had to try the wings. They were good, big and juicy. They were fried chicken, not sauced Buffalo wings, if that's what you're looking for. I love the honey walnut shrimp over at China Palace, so I tried that too. It was amazing here, too, and I'll definitely be getting it again. The fried shrimp was perfectly cooked and the decadent sauce was just what I was expecting. Finally, I got the beef with ginger and green onion. It was good, not great, but the portion size was huge so it was a great value and made for great leftovers. There seem to be a disproportionate number of 1 star reviews for this place. I think the food is actually pretty good. I've been here twice, once I got a lunch plate and yesterday got dinner orders of Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao Chicken and a medium order of rice for ~$25. The beef was delicious, and there was a ton of it. The Chicken itself was pretty good but like a lot of takeout had a lot of peppers, carrots and celery (?) which I could do without. The place is tiny and mostly kitchen but what you notice is that it's spotless. You can see the food being cooked to order in the huge woks which is kind of nice. Yes it's cash only. So, we were hoping to get our fried squid here but they had the fried to oblivion "chicharrones" type of squid where you can potentially lose a tooth. So we didn't end up getting the fried squid. But we did order a won ton soup. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the flavor of the won tons. It was meaty but also shrimpy which is always good! The soup itself reminded me of a filipino soup called nilaga which is a cabbage based soup. So that's what you get is a napa cabbage soup with won tons. I was told by my MIL that this place is really good. She said that their food is fresh, and is made fresh upon ordering. So when I had a craving for chicken wings, I thought of stopping in Milpitas to try this place out. It was easy to find, as I was told that it was in the same building as 7-11 on Park Victoria. Parking was full in that section of the lot and I noticed people waiting outside already (a la King Egg Roll). I got excited thinking it must be THAT good for people to wait like that. I got in line and waited for about 15 minutes. While in line, I noticed that a lot of people (if not all) were ordering or picking up party trays. I was getting really hungry, to the point where I couldn't decide on any of the options on the menu above the counters. Finally, it was my turn to order, and when I said "I'll have a #1", the lady told me something along the lines of they didn't have #1. So I opted for #2 instead, and very rudely, told me that they didn't serve those dishes during the weekend because they were really busy with party orders....then proceeded to say "Next!" to the person behind me. Umm....WTF!? Nowhere did it say that none of their "combo platters" were NOT offered during the weekend! And if they truly only served party platters, why not have a sign in the front of the store, so that non-"party" people like me don't have to wait in line for so darn long almost starving to death! Ok, I exaggerate...but you get my point! NO star (but I *have* to give one) for the bad service. Too bad I couldn't rate it any more (or less?) for the food. This place is located across from Ocean Market. I love their salt and pepper chicken wings. Full of great flavor and very crispy which is a huge plus. The chicken is very juicy too. If you love that good crunch. This is a must, not a typical calamari dish that you can get at a bar. The location is kind of inconvient unless you know of this location. I'm assuming unless you're lost, looking at yelp, or through word of mouth you may never find this place. Besides the inconvient location, the restaurant is quite small and the environment isn't exactly welcoming to sit in and eat. For example, it's quite small. You can't use their restrooms. And the cooking is super strong where minutes could feel like hours and your body may feel like its suffocating with a lack of fresh air. Sadly, I can see their effort but something as simple as opening up their doors may allow fresh air to circulate around the restaurant. I felt like the food was pretty good but certain items were heavily seasoned/salty, for example, the fried chicken. The customer service was poor, the cashier never said "thank you" or offered me a drink or anything. Unless you're on the go, aren't planning to eat here or picking up an item, avoid this place. I would drive by this place, and have a laugh at the name. It's so epic, I can't help but giggle a little bit. I mean it's "KING CHICKEN WING," not "peasant chicken wing." LOL, I have weird humor.
