Supporting local businesses. Friendly and kind staff with and a cute ambience. Vietnamese and French inspired and they make a great steak served sizzling for an affordable price. Would much rather come here than go to Outback and their French baguette is tasty as well.

    Such a cozy interior

There's a new twist a French-Vietnamese bistro serving both French entrees, appetizers along with Vietnamese rice plates and phở soup quite an extensive menu list to choose from. The best part is their $12.95 lunch special weekdays only from 11 till 2:30 in the afternoon. Can't passed that up a good deal so I came by on a Thursday morning greeted very warmly by the couple who runs this place it was so inviting such a cozy spacious interior a soft lighted French guitar music playing in the background brings out the mood. Looking at the menu I chose phở gà shredded chicken meat with rice noodles and a side dish of fresh bean sprouts/herbs all for the price of $12.95 regular price would been $15.95 and for drinks Thai iced coffee. I was even more surprised when the server brought over a large size bowl of phở gà light fragrant broth enough to serve two people. They would come by and check to see if I need anything else so attentive definitely be back for sure. Don't pay by credit card there's a surcharge added better with cash or debit card which doesn't apply. Ample parking with so few cars at that time of day. Chez Christina is located in a large Jacklin Square can't missed since it's right off Jacklin Road.

Fast, friendly service...cozy ambiance, clean restaurant...food was meh...cube steak was tender but under seasoned lacking the seared high heat flavor that a good cube steak must have...not worth the $20 price tag...mushroom steak came out tough, chewy and again, flavorless...sauce that came with dish had a weird sour taste...not worth the $25..overall steak not good, lacking flavor, will not be back..

It was Valentine's, I wanted to take my wife to a nice French restaurant but one of the reservation failed through, luckily I remembered this place that I took my girlfriend (my wife) 22 years ago. We both remembered this place, we didn't know it's still there after all these years since we never came back after we got married and moved. The Google booking system is amazing, we got our confirmation right away. My wife was happy to come back to our first date years ago. The restaurant is small, plenty of parking spaces, we came early because we went straight after work, we found the parking right away. This is called French VN fusion restaurant, it's kinda like our favorite Le Colonial in SF but closed after 26 years in business. We've been in Paris and tried quite a few restaurant there, we like escargots, steaks and ducks, but we still think the fusion restaurants taste as good or better. The service here is so attentive, pleasant and happy, we liked it right away after all these years. The decor is quite nice IMHO, quite simple and not very pretentious. So, French restaurant the escargots are a must, this place doesn't use the whole snails instead using the out-of-shell meats, with a little bread in a cup, kinda different. The important thing is the tastes, the meat is quite soft and flavorful, we both liked them very much. The bread dipped in the sauce is quite tasty. Everywhere we went, we love crispy calamari, and this place is excellent, the calamari is crispy but the meat is tender, the sauce are just plain tartar and cocktail sauce, they should make their own special sauce for this then it would be better. We finished these in a heartbeat. The salad is included which is nice. The dressing is just right, I think it has a touch of fish sauce in it, very nice. The main course, the #15 and #16 that we can hear people are ordering. we order both because we forgot what we ordered 22 years ago LOL. Actually both sauces are almost tasted the same, but my wife thought her pepper corn sauce tasted better than my Mushroom sauce. My wife likes the hot crunchy bread and butter instead of my red rice. They're both excellent eating with our sauces. The steak is tender and does have texture, it's the sauce that counts. The prices here are quite reasonable. We will come back here again to try different dishes when we're craving for another romantic outing event. It's not just the restaurant, it's how we love each other. When we're in love, everything is romantic and taste great LOL.

Hands-down to the best French Vietnamese cuisine in Milpitas. We visited Chez Christina last week, and we had an outstanding experience. We tried these several dishes: 1. Chicken wing. These chicken wings are so flavorful and not to mention very crispy. 2. Vietnamese beef stew. You can either have bread or pasta or rice. We opted to have it with bread. The stew was so flavorful, but they could put more pieces of meat. Nevertheless it was one of the most delicious Vietnamese beef stew I've ever had. 3. Sizzling beef plate. The steak was served with sausage, pate and fried egg. The steak was marinated with the sauce and it was so delicious. The combination of the steak and the pate dip with the fried egg was beyond delicious. 4. French onion soup. The soup was so delightful. It made a great appetizer. 5. Roasted hen and tomato rice. If you're looking for a delicious roasted chicken, you need to try their signature roasted chicken, it's crispy juicy and for the price you pay, you'll be satisfied. we ended the whole dinner with dessert, which were pandan, jelly drink, or che and flan. My husband loves the panda jelly dessert because it was packed with red beans. we totally recommend Chez Christina if you love French Vietnamese cuisine. Parking is in private lot. Located in Milpitas.

It was OK. The ambiance inside was super cute and fun, with light music and French Cafe vibes. Service was fine, they tried to keep up the ambiance, with the white table clothes and water refills. The side salad came with the bo ne and was fresh, with Italian dressing in a small bottle. I would have preferred of the bottle was a bit cleaner. The steak was quite over cooked, not really favored for tenderized at all. The sausage was low quality grocery store hot dog. I got my plate with banh mi, and my fiance got his with red rice. The rice was dry but seasoned OK. The baguette was warm and freshly toasted, but you really need to ration how you eat it as it's kind of small. The vietnamese coffee tastes just like the packets you get from Costco, we were amused. We would come back to try their French dishes maybe, but we weren't impressed with their steak plates.

This little French Vietnamese Bistro surprised us with how good the food was. I'd be lying if I said I had high expectations walking in, but everything we ordered had a lot of flavor and good service. This little gem is tucked away in Jacklin Square in Milpitas and has been around for 28+ years. This was our first time trying, but I already want to go back and try their Beef Stew and get the Fish Sauce Wings again! * Crispy Chicken Wings w/ Fish Sauce (highly recommend!) * Steak w/ Mushroom Sauce (highly recommend!) * Stir Fry Beef Cubes w/ Spanish Rice * Grilled Pork in Vermicelli

Nice cozy ambiance but a bit slow service. We had to call down the waitress a few times to get their attention on ordering/paying. Food was okay! The portions were medium-sized and the quality was okay too. 3/5

My wife and I manage our health by living on a keto diet and this restaurant catered to our needs beautifully. I had a strange plate of steak, paté, a seared hot-dog masquerading as a sausage. They happily substituted the accompanying bread, rice or fries with an additional salad. My wife had a nice salmon fillet. Vietnamese food is on a spectrum of original native fare to Vietnamese food heavily influenced by French cooking. If you're in the mood for more of a French than Vietnamese experience, this is a great place with reasonable prices. Just the hot-dog served as a sausage seemed strange to me - if I could add half a star, I would.

Food is ok. Service is ok. It's just ok. If you don't live close by, it's not worth going all the way there. Thai iced tea: 3/5. It's ok. Not something I'd order again. Lacking some tea flavor. Combination steak/sausage/pâté/egg with red rice: 3/5. It's ok. Ordered medium rare, came out medium. Steak too thin. Besides the pate, everything seems to be from Costco or Walmart grocery. Did I mention it's just ok? Another tip: never ever sit at the table next to the speaker. You would not have any conversation. Where is it? You will know when you walk by. Stay away.

IMHO Haven't been here in years but decided to come for a couples dinner. We made a 6 p.m. reservation but didn't really need it. We had our choice of round tables, which gave us enough comfort space and room for a lot of dishes, if we chose. We started with the crispy calamari, $12.95 and an order of spring rolls, $9.95. Both dishes were delicious. The calamari came out hot and tender. I wish tentacles were included in this dish but nope. The spring rolls were very nice but my friend said the peanut sauce was spicy (and she can't do spicy hot.) Our entrees included Asparagus & Crab soup, $14.95, Korean BBQ Beef w/rice, $18.95, Chicken Curry w/rice, $16.95, and Crunchy fried noodle w/fresh seafood, $17.95, and stir-fried seafood Chow fun, $17.95. I suppose our party could've family-style shared, but we didn't. We did a good job of finishing up our own individual orders. We ended our meal with ice cream w/chocolate sauce, $6,.95, and the Red bean, green bean, panda jelly, $6.95. Ambience was nice, service was nice, food was good. Easy parking in this strip mall. They have what looks like a good weekly lunch special for only $10.95. We'll have to try that out one day!

There wasn't an option to modify the sweetness, which I was concerned about at first. Not only does it get really busy after work hours, many parking spots are reserved for other businesses. It's also usually crowded inside, making snagging a seat a bit hard. I will note that they don't seem particularly diligent about cleaning up between customers. You pick your own seats, and when I finally found a table, there was food residue visible on the tabletop. Their prices are a little higher than some other spots in SJ (ranging from ~$13 to $19 pre-tax), and I don't think the quality of the bingsoo is noticeably better to justify the price. I tried a pricier one (the premium strawberry), and found it to be quite good, but not $20 good. Plus, some aspects seem designed more for pictures than for eating. The little cheesecake slice is a bit hard because it's cold and difficult to eat with the shaved ice. That said, their bingsoo does taste good! The fruit tasted fresh and sweet, and the portion was enough for me to share with my partner. I wish the condensed milk was provided on the side instead of already poured on top, but I didn't mind the amount they gave. I may not be back immediately in the future, but I wouldn't mind visiting again. I would probably stick to the lower-priced options myself, though. If you visit, do keep in mind that it's usually really busy--your order probably will take a minute, and whether that's worth it or not is up to you.
