She eventually addressed me to say that I could head on in and that it was standing room available. I went to the bar and it was completely full. I stood by and checked out the drinks menu. Once I was ready, the bartender also ignored me. It took for the seated patrons at the bar to call the bartender's attention and order on my behalf. They added my drink to their tab which was super sweet. I enjoyed my drink and people watched & enjoyed the music. Unfortunately a seat did not become available so I eventually left. Under different circumstances, I would've enjoyed the bar because tropical drinks and Tiki bars are my vibe. This wasn't the greatest experience though.

The music can get loud, but it fits the atmosphere perfectly. The bartenders were constantly interacting with guests, swinging the lights, encouraging the crowd, and turning the entire room into a neon-lit fiesta. They do have a food menu featuring items such as tacos, nachos, quesadillas, and guacamole, but we mostly came for the drinks. Many of the cocktails are tequila- or mezcal-based, which is exactly what we enjoy. The menu is creative, the drinks are strong, and the bar does an excellent job making agave spirits approachable--even for guests who may not consider themselves mezcal experts. After two drinks and an argument with a decorative donkey, we finally found the missing spirit hiding behind the bar. He was translucent, smelled faintly of roasted agave, and appeared to be carrying a tiny map. We followed him through a glowing hallway, down a staircase, and into a secret chamber where he revealed the legendary piñata of Quetzalcoatl, the ancient feathered serpent god. Naturally, we attempted to break it open. Instead of candy, it released a cloud of mystical dust, three lime wedges, and a receipt for nachos. The ghost donkey brayed with laughter, the lights began swinging, and the entire bar erupted in applause. The bartender handed us another drink and told us this happened all the time. Ghost Donkey is a fantastic place to hang out, pregame, and enjoy inventive tequila and mezcal cocktails in a lively setting. The greeter / the man at the door was very rude. He was extremely racist. Our food was nasty common cold overcooked for some items under cook for the rest of the items. It was unappealing. They put one server on a table of 18 to 20 people. So it took a while for us to get our food because she can do everything. So when they decided to help her they messed up by putting out food all on tables not knowing who played was which. When we try to talk to the manager he was drunk. The owner I don't know who he was but I assumed he was the guy who was greeting us at the door was terribly rude and he told us he don't like kids at the restaurant of course we had 11 children. It was the worst experience I ever experienced at a eating establishment. Oh yeah and it was Mother's Day. If you are deciding to go to this place and you are African-American do not go to this place they will not give you the best service. King Roach House My friend made a reservation for us. We still had to wait for a table because this place was packed. There were at least 50 people in the front, not including the other 2 dining areas so there must have been well over 100 people in there. Auntie Lori would not be happy to know they accommodate large parties. A lot of people were walking around without masks. But the most shocking thing were the visible roaches! We had a great experience at King Crab Chicago. We started with the fried oysters, mussels, and Maryland-style crab cakes--all of which were super flavorful and a great way to kick off the meal. This place was great! We sat on their patio which was small but pretty and the umbrellas helped shade the area. One thing that was nice is that they definitely sprayed down the tables with sanitizer after each use- important in these times! Anyway, we shared one of the family meals that they offered and were not disappointed. Went into King Crab, again, the other day and I have to say that the service and food is still amazing! This place is a totally underrated gem in the middle of Lincoln Park. The prices are affordable for any budget, the staff is talented and professional, and the management is always there and eager to please. Had to have a late lunch at my fave King Crab today. Enjoyed a delicious boil bag (try it with the Cajun seasoning) with shrimp and king crab and a couple Moscow Mules (refreshing on this warm day). I went for Sunday brunch and they were out of several things, including bacon. Other than that, it was pretty good. Oysters are cheap and good. There are tons of specials to choose from. It's surprisingly hard to find one that's consistently good, but Crab King is by far my favorite. What sets them apart is the sauce and seasoning. It's flavorful without being overly salty, and the medium spice level is just right. I've been to Lowcountry plenty of times, and I personally find their boils way too salty. I honestly don't understand the hype when compared to Crab King. As of now, this is the best seafood boil I've had in Chicago. Of course, if a new spot opens, I'll happily give it a try, but Crab King is currently my #1. Their happy hour is also hard to beat. The seafood boil deals are great, and the $1 oysters are an added bonus. If you're a seafood boil lover, I definitely recommend giving this place a try!

For example, an Old Styler pitcher on the menu is $26, but we were charged $28 pre-tax. Wouldn't be surprised if this were the case for other items.
