Although they are known for their donuts I decided to take a chance and grab some chicken stir fry with veggies for lunch. Food was hot and actually pretty good! Nice spot to grab chicken stir fry while on the move. The Parking is not ideal and there are some skeptical people that hang around the property, but it was decent. We love King Donuts! We're glad they're still open for takeout during the COVID outbreak, though limited hours on weekdays (check their facebook for a post showing current hours). The old fashioned donuts are excellent, with a nice crunch on the outside. The people behind the counter are always friendly and there is plenty of space inside to stand and wait for an order or to pay and observe the 6 foot spacing. You can call in and make a food order as well. We really liked the yakisoba, but all of the servings are very large, which is important for me :) read more

Don't judge this place by its cover! Donuts, teriyaki, Thai, and laundry mat it's a one stop shop! This place is under new ownership and it's great! First let's talk about the donuts. They are made fresh every morning and the prices are the best. My favorite is the sugar raised donuts. Fluffy airy and warm. You can go to a fancy pancy donut shop and pay $4 for a donut but why? They even have a dozen donut holes for $1.50!! And then they have all the food. I ordered a veggie yakisoba and it was great. Not greasy at all and the portions are huge. It was just what I wanted. They have a variety of teriyaki and Thai dishes on the menu. And I believe they will have pastries coming soon. While you eat lunch and have some donuts, you can relax and watch the news that's on the large TV (on a cool gold cheetah glass table) or do some laundry. Some of the most amazing donuts I've ever had. Full of flavor, moist, and only $1 each or $1.85 for the ginormous bear claw thingy mabob which is as long as your foot. Funny thing is, I went to high school near here for 4 years, and everyone would go here for lunch and get teriyaki, but I had never visited this place until 4 years after graduation. The employees here are pretty nice, and they always entertain the kids with jokes and telling them to pick out their own donut when they come with their parents. They engage with them instead of ignoring them which I like. I've never had the teriyaki here, so I can't comment on that, but the donuts are delicious. They open at 6 I believe, so the sooner you get in, the more of a selection you'll have. Did I mention they have maple and chocolate bars with bacon on top? Winning! read more

My normally sugar-hating husband forgets himself when around these donuts and turns into Uter from The Simpsons. These donuts are the real deal if you want: a) great dough (great chew and texture) b) donuts that taste like it was fried in their own delicious oil (a good type of greasy) c) inexpensive donuts (sooooo cheap!) d) substantial donuts (even half a dozen feels HEAVY) On top of that, a fun atmosphere. What business does King Donut have of making such ABSURDLY delicious donut holes?! We passed by on a drive back from Kubota Gardens, and thought to stop by just to support a local business. Not looking for anything other than a small snack, we picked up half a dozen donut holes for $1!! Insane that anybody can get anything for $1 these days. Despite the high affordability, the donut holes were magical. The slightest bit of salt makes the sugar glaze that much sweeter, with such a light and balanced flavor. Came here for the first time since it was re-opened by new owners and I gotta say, I am not disappointed. Got a small mix of half a dozen donuts which are perfect for my two person household. They brought put fresh and hot donuts as we were waiting to be helped next. So I was super excited to get a couple of those. We also ordered Chicken Pad Thai, since I saw a lot of reviews praising their Thai food. I also ordered Chicken Teriyaki but then we were told since it was Sunday that they focus more on getting fresh donuts out. That was no issue to me. There's always next time! I definitely will be back. I should have taken a picture of their pad Thai because it was so nice and packed. It was really good as well. Waiting to eat it til I got home was hard because the smell of it was so delicious the whole car ride. I definitely love that they don't put peanuts on their pad Thai either, (for those who care) due to my husband is deathly allergic and I just don't care for nuts on my noodles as well. Service was great, sweet French Asian girl helped us and she was pleasant and her English was amazing since she said she was practicing it until she goes back to France in two days! I really just love this place. The daughter and son team that work the front are friendly and engaging. I come in their all the time because they have the tastiest donuts in town. Perfectly sweet, crunchy and options galore. The absolute kicker here is that's it's also a Teriyaki spot. (How Seattle of them). The fried rice comes with scrambled egg pieces you can ACTUALLY see and hearty portion of meats. The orders are fast and you can see through the opening of the kitchen that they work fast and fresh. I'm originally from the Boston area. We live our dunkin in New England. Since moving here, I've found most donuts to be heavy and boring. I'd heard about King, but hadn't wanted to make the drive. I finally said I wanted them for Mother's Day, so we headed down. Well, I wish I'd hone sooner! These are the best donuts around, by far. So so light and fluffy and delicious. I was happy when I found out that King's Donuts would be continuing, but hesitant at first, but after reading the good reviews of the food I decided to order a couple of months ago and we've been coming back ever since at least once a week! We absolutely LOVE the Thai Chicken Fried Rice for $6.95 (also the combo. with shrimp is great as well at $8.95). And not to forget the delicious savory Wonton Soup for $10 which is literally enough to feed 4 people. It comes in a huge plastic container with another side container of fresh veggies+noodles+chicken+shrimp. Oops, not to forget the aforementioned Thai Chicken Fried Rice also comes in a big container as well and is also literally able to feed 4 people! So let's just say you wake up one morning and you simply can't decide whether you're craving a doughnut or teriyaki. The choice between a raised glazed and spicy pork with a side of iceberg salad renders you paralyzed. Thankfully, such a quandary can be deliciously resolved by King Donuts & Teriyaki in Rainier Beach. The raised doughnuts are huge, golden pillows dressed in sugar glaze, maple, or chocolate. The bread is neither overly dense nor too airy, striking the right balance in between two extremes. All your old doughnut friends are there...fritters, maple bars, filled, sprinkled, and more. In my opinion the yeast doughnuts are superior to the cake selections, and a mixed half dozen costs only $4.49 ($7.99/dozen). The "teriyaki" menu actually includes about 30 Japanese and pan-Asian favorites including stir-fry, fried rice, pot stickers and wings in addition to a variety of standard and spicy teriyaki plates. Most dishes range between $5.49 - 7.39, with the outlier being beef short ribs at $8.59. I chose the spicy beef on my recent visit, and it was very tasty...just the right amount of heat and a generous portion of meat and rice. I was a little surprised that the salad was dressed in Ranch rather than a vinaigrette, but no complaints! As if phenomenal doughnuts and toothsome teriyaki weren't enough, the King also offers reasonably-priced espresso, a cooler of assorted canned/bottled drinks, lottery, cigarettes, and an ATM. King Donuts is a little gem. It has been a part of the community for so long, and I'm glad to see it in the hands of thoughtful and loving owners. The donuts are delicious--possibly my favorite. As I am writing this, I have just finished eating a glazed twist, and I have a chocolate bar waiting on the sidelines. The twist was light and soft on the inside, with the perfect amount of sweet glaze on top. King's are probably the only donuts I've ever eaten where it doesn't feel all heavy in your belly afterward. Just went here over the weekend after driving by so many times. It was one of the most "WTF" dining experiences I've ever had. The guy at the counter was drunk, he showed me his bottle of liquor that was helping him get through the day. I ordered a buttermilk donut, trying to play it safe. I paid with a $20 and got back my change. I should have counted it then, because he short-changed me by $5. Didn't notice until later in the day. The donut was just OK.
