We stopped by Panterelli after the West Seattle Sunday Farmers Market, wandering in after hearing…read moreabout the best Choux pastries in Seattle. There weren't any other customers inside and we were greeted with an empty display case in the front. While barren, the owner, a gruff* French gentlemen, confirmed that he still had choux pastry left with a choice of either vanilla, coconut, pistachio, or hazelnut. We decided to go with the pistachio, which he assembled fresh for us, first by piping pistachio cream inside the choux shell, then dipping in melted chocolate and sprinkling pistachio on top. Pistachio Choux ($6) - The choux is excellent, baked until deliciously crisp on the exterior while the inside remains soft, eggy, and tender. Since it's fresh filled and we ate it right afterwards, the cream never migrated to saturate the crust - I suspect people with issues with mushiness probably let the cream puff sit too long before consuming. The cream, which is piped to the brim, pushes out against the delicate shell, causing each bite to almost squirt out a bit of the luscious, silky whipped custard. The cream coats the lips and mouth with a layer of fat. It's not too sweet and has a light nutty pistachio flavor. The melted chocolate the top is dipped into glues on all of the pistachio dip. The chocolate is slightly bitter, yet sweet, so it helps cut through some of the rich silkiness of the cream. The pistachios on top act like a crumble, perhaps pulverized and melded with butter to create a very rich yet pistachio forward mix. It's strongly flavored, and the chocolate creates such a strong cement that none of the nuts detach while eating. (5/5) Panterelli was a huge surprise as it wasn't even on our radar until we walked past the shop randomly while exploring the Farmers Market. It's a definite revisit in the future! *The owner isn't nearly as welcoming as a typical American small business owner, but is certainly friendly and eager to chat. I also love his attitude - looks aren't that important; it's the taste the reigns supreme!

He made a great americano and made me the best little Choux bun. We ended up talking for 10 mins and now I feel like I have a new favorite local spot. Can't wait to go back!

If you are looking for a gorgeous wedding cake and exceptional customer service, I would highly…read morerecommend Baked! From the moment we first contacted Baked about our cakes to the day of the wedding, our entire experience was fantastic. Ali and her crew are absolutely fantastic. The cakes are beautiful. And most of all, they taste GREAT. We opted for a two-tier cake, simple layered design, and then accompanying cake bites for our wedding day. They were delicious...and we ended the night with zero cake bites left and just one or two pieces of cake...that says something! We opted for the cinnamon roll for our cake flavor (YUM!) and then the salted lime margarita and raspberry confetti for our cake bites. It was the perfect mix of flavors for us. An added bonus is that Baked will recreate the top layer of your cake for your one-year anniversary at a discounted price. It was so lovely to not have to worry about saving that top layer...plus, we know it'll taste great when we pick it up next September! Again, we highly recommend Baked for your wedding cake. I'm already thinking of occasions to work with them again.

It was the perfect flavor to please a large crowd. On to the design. Our cake was gorgeous! We went for a personalized look. My layer of the cake was Harry Potter themed and his was Star Wars. We went in and told Kristina we wanted something simple and we got the most amazingly beautiful wonderful personal cake ever. Baked is a little pricey but you absolutely get what you pay for. I would happily go back to Kristina at baked and I highly recommend her!

I also snagged the maple bar, cinnamon sugar, and the worker giftes me an apple fritter! @doughjoydonuts gained a new regular customer today! Staff were sweet just like their donuts! - The donut was evenly coated with the right amount of sprinkles! It was soft, not too sweet, and was exactly how I remembered they tasted growing up There were a good amount of seating, but since the weatjer was nice out, I sat on their cute pink benches outside the store!

Add a tip and a drink and suddenly we are $20 for a coffee and a donut. Now, this Goblin LOVES to steal, but it feels like I'm being stolen from. Sometimes the chocolate icing leaves a strange aftertaste. Occasionally there isn't enough vegan Bavarian cream, sometimes I'm swimming in cream. If you get one that is just right, it's hard to taste the difference. But is that enough? The service is solid, but the line can wrap around the sidewalk some weekends. The flow of ordering a donut, to ordering a drink, to receiving your donut needs an engineers opinion. It's generally pretty tight inside, and can be a little dirty on the weekend. A premium product with slightly above average taste.
