I think what this place does is it's made to order so each donut is fresh. Any you can enjoy them to their full potential. Pairs well with a hot brewed coffee. Always have creative, cravable, flavor combinations. Only issue I've experienced with the traveling food truck location is that one of the donuts I received was slightly under fried. We caught the food truck at Chuck's Hop Shop on a sunny Saturday afternoon and ordered all four donuts on the rotating menu: a chocolate cake donut with coffee glaze, a brioche filled with Santa Rosa plum jam and vanilla bean, an apple & fig fritter with cinnamon-orange glaze, and a buttermilk whole wheat donut topped with honey glaze. Hot and fresh donuts, what could be better??!?!? We caught the truck at urban family on Sunday morning and hot donuts were being fried up right before our eyes. There was a steady flow of people ordering and picking up. We put in a quick order, originally planning to just get two donuts, but three of them sounded too good to resist. Lots of seating out in Urban Family's patio and a lively atmosphere of people getting coffee and hanging out. Called back to pay after a few minutes. Happened upon this place by luck while showing out of town friends around. We were a little confused because we didn't realize it was just a window butttttt once we figured it out, we ordered a donut off each flavor and wow were they delicious! They are fried as you order so sometimes if they have a line it online orders it can take a few minutes but it is so worth it. The donuts remind me of like the old school donut shops back in California with cake donuts, just with really interesting and unexpected flavors. The food truck came to our office building, and I never seen a donut food truck before, and decided to check it out because I saw that they always had interesting and unique flavors. There were three different flavors to choose from. I was shocked to see that they were only $3.50 each, especially coming from a food truck. I decided to try just one, and got the Sherry Vinegar Pear Fritter with Blueberry Glaze. He actually fried the donut and glazed it there; I thought they would just have it all ready to go. The donut was nice and fresh. The texture was really good. All the donuts came with glaze, so I was worried they'd be too sweet, but no, this donut with the blueberry glaze was not too sweet at all. I'm still a fan of 9th & Hennepin! Recently caught them on a Sunday at Urban Family Brewing and am so glad they are in the northern part of Seattle (at least for now) at this location on Sundays! Delridge was hard for me to get to so I'm happy that I can enjoy these donuts more often. If you come to the truck at Urban Family Brewing, I recommend coming on the earlier side -- the shift is 8-12 and I came around 11:45 or so and was too late as they were sold out! Love the rotating menu each week. Flavors continue to be unique and delicious as well as seasonal. I recently enjoyed a blueberry sour cream cake donut with fresh hops glaze - yum! Soo good. Hot fresh donuts from a ghost kitchen window in Delridge on Sunday morning. Very easy online ordering - we ordered in advance for a 15 minute window. We were early and they made our donuts as soon as we arrived, so there was a very short wait. I loved my gluten free poppyseed cake donut with an apricot glaze - it was light, fluffy, and with a perfect balance of delicate crunch and tender chewiness. The best gluten free baked goods are ones that are entirely delicious of their own accord and this donut met the bill. I did not have the remaining three donuts - the french cruller with cinnamon sugar, the blackberry filled brioche donut with the urfa biber glaze, and the Rainier cherry fritter with a white chocolate glaze - but the donut-devouring team that I travel with made very short work of them and pronounced them excellent. After seeing this at farmers markets early in on and regretting not trying them, I finally had time to go down to this part of town years later :) The owner post new flavors of donuts every Wednesday of each week and is open Friday - Sunday. You can pre-order or do walk ins, as he has some for walk ins available. I didn't want to take my chances so I pre order online. It was pretty easy. We got pride week flavors: Coconut cake donut with kefir lime leaf sugar --- the texture was really good. It was probably one of my favorite donuts of the batch. The flavor is very subtle so not as strong as I want but it's there. Pistachio buttermilk bar with apricot glaze --- least favorite but not bad. The flavor wasn't there and it just wasn't as memorable as the other ones Filled brioche with blackberry pudding and verbena glaze -- good, soft yeast donut. Strawberry fritter with masala glaze ---- not as crunchy as other fritter but the inside is soft and I love the strawberry. It was $11 for the box of 4 donut or $2.75 each. The size is pretty standard so I think for the price, it's pretty reasonable. The fritter is definitely smaller than normal fritter but it's a good size for me. AMAZING donuts. More often than not, donuts are too sweet and one note for me, but these ones were perfectly balanced and flavorful. I usually cannot eat fritters because they're too oily and sweet but the raspberry-blueberry fritter with vanilla bean glaze was exquisite. The texture of each donut was also really good. Nothing gummy or chewy about these ones. Don't bother getting donuts elsewhere. The owner is also very friendly even though he's busy frying donuts in a van. 9th & Hennepin is now my favorite donut shop in Seattle! TLDR: Hot and fresh gourmet donuts with new flavors every week. LOL at first I thought 9th and Hennepin were the cross streets, but it is actually a Tom Waits song that has a line about donuts. This place is located in Delridge near Delridge Way SW & SW Findlay St. They are only open three days a week (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). Each week they offer four donuts (a raised/filled brioche, a fruit fritter, a cake donut, and a random one). The menu is posted online on Wednesdays around 6 PM. The website is really good and kept up to date. You basically need to order and pay online ahead of time, but it was super easy. You also have to choose a 10 minute time slot for pickup. I ordered one of each donut (4 for $11) and two drip coffees (beans from Queen Anne Roastery). This is what my variety pack included: Buckwheat cake donut, roasted plum glaze Honey buttermilk bar, saffron glaze, candied almonds Filled brioche thumbprint, lemon curd, rosemary sugar Peach & blackberry fritter, sherry glaze Everything was delicious and I love the rotating menu. I had one that sounded kind of funny- Pear with olive oil and lemon and dunked in (I can't remember the name of the frosting). It sounded funky but I gave it a go and it was beyond worth it. Also had an apple pie type doughnut that was not too apple pie-y and was just like the first- slightly crisp on the outside and moist on the inside yes I said it haha moist! I have never been to this location before so ordering was a bit confusing to me since that kitchen is used by about 7 other restaurants. I had placed my online order the day before and had been eagerly awaiting the actual pickup this morning (4/18/20). My first taste of these uniquely crafted doughnuts! Despite the pouring rain, hydroplaning on I-5 from Shoreline, the closed West Seattle Bridge, Google Maps got this directionally challenged Yelper at the destination with the convenient loading zone. I was 40 minutes early from my appointed time, but the kind owner still provided my prepaid double order and a brief friendly chat at the window. The takeout boxes were warm to the touch, took a quick photo and then did a u turn to leave the loading zone to park elsewhere. I had brought nice saucers to take snaps of these beauties on my car dashboard. Forget that, once the box was opened, that fresh aroma hit me, I took a bite from each one. Ended up then eating one entirely, licking the exploding filling all over my hand and jacket sleeve. Almost felt downright naughty doing this in my car, couldn't even wait to get home! Ahem, I digress. The closest analogy to this experience was waiting in an early morning line nearly 5 years ago in Maui for fresh malassadas. So what were the featured four varieties? *Mashed Potato Cake doughnut with Maple Bourbon glaze *Citrus Olive Oil Cake doughnut with Aniseed Sugar *Filled Brioche with Earl Grey Pudding with local honey glaze *Rose Poached Pear Fritter with Pink Peppercorn glaze Polished off the equivalent of 3 of 4 in the car and later at home with a glass of ice cold milk. As you can imagine, flavors of the day vary and there only about 4 each time. The offerings are very artisanal, and have very interesting flavor combinations. oh you should have seen my face when i unexpectedly found myself in the same place at the 9th and hennepin food truck. i'd had this spot on my list of places to try for a while, and because my usual week-to-week doesn't take me anywhere near w seattle, it was going to have to be an endeavor... unless the fates aligned! and they did. a friend and i split two of their donuts of the week at the georgetown carnival, and i gotta say, it's almost entirely a homerun. i think i'll have to try more to give a fully fair synopsis. first, the service was super friendly and super fast (so fast they almost missed filling my filled donut haha), so thank you for that! what a treat on its own the donuts are fried on the spot, as they should be, piping hot and ready to eat. we had the chocolate cake donut with whiskey glaze, and a butterscotch filled brioche donut with a vanilla glaze. now, the -1 star is a hard one for me. these were top notch donuts. the yeasted dough and the cake were very tasty. the glaze, for me, is where it fell short. i couldn't taste those flavors as much as i tried. and the chocolate cake one was preeeetty close to undercooked/raw in the middle. still delicious, fudgy and hella chocolately but... was a little nervous about the batter there. would love to try more though. they've got something special! read more

My sister and and her husband have been buying these doughnuts for awhile one of her favorites in the city and can be found at a few farmer's markets around Seattle. I went to the UW Farmers this morning to find a couple of my favorite vendors like Salmonberry and to finally try these. They are fried to order one is $3 if you buy three or four you save some money. He changes flavors each week and uses season fruit from the market. I went with the three fruit ones for the day. The huckleberry cake doughnut with lemon lavender glaze, pistachio glazed peach curd filled brioche and apricot fritter with orange cognac glaze. One thing my sister really liked was that the fritters have lots of fruit. I ate about half the huckleberry cause I wanted to see how it was freshly fried. A glaze that perfectly complements the subtle nectarine aromas within. A couple of slices of fruit. The brioche was fantastic too - some pistachio frangipane.
