I wasn't impressed and wouldn't eat here again unless I was in the area and wanted pizza. Even then, might try a different pizza place since there's so much variety. We arrived at your Carmel location at 8:32PM on Friday night, and we were told you weren't taking anymore people because you had too many waiting. There were 3 groups of people in the waiting area, and multiple empty tables that hadn't been bussed yet. Your closing time is 9pm. It was Friday NIGHT AND the Carmel Marathon was the following morning, meaning you had many people looking for your specific product and many out of town people experiencing Indy for the first time. My husband and I are in the restaurant business, and could not believe this scenario. We both also hate Yelp, and this is my first review which he actually asked me to write. This is a pretty awful way of gaining a market in which you just opened not long ago. Not a good look for you. Good luck. Placing an order online was simple. The application gave me a pick up time for my order which was an hour from the time I placed my order. I arrived an hour later to see a ton of people in the waiting area. When I inquired about my order they said it wasn't ready yet. I waited about 20 minutes then inquired again. The young lady said she couldn't put a time on it but maybe 15-25 more minutes. I left and spent about another 40 minutes at another store. I came back and my order still wasn't ready. 10 minutes later a gentleman handed me a bag with my salad in it and went to box up my pizza. My Greek salad was wrong so he kindly fixed it. I checked my pizza in the car and it was also wrong. I didn't want to wait another 2+ hours for another pizza so I reached out through the app and received a refund. The food is delicious but I would not ever go back simply due to the service. Far too expensive for these kinds of mistakes. The pizza is on the thin side with very little toppings. The salad is my favorite. Looks like I'll by DIY'ing the salad at home. Also, they should invest in a larger waiting room with more seating and TV's because YOU WILL WAIT AN ETERNITY FOR YOUR PIZZA. read more

Check your receipts carefully they're sneaky and slip in some charges. They automatically add in 15% so they can cover employees benefits and then charge for gratuity on pick up orders. The response that was received is that it's common practice now everywhere. It's not my responsibility to supply their employees with benefits. read more

I felt like I was eating just cheese because the pizza dough is extremely thin..not even NY style thin. The crust was thick but rest of it super thin. It felt extra greasy because of how thin it was. The ranch is really good and the wings have a good taste but could use more sauce. Unfortunately will not be returning unless something changes with the pizza dough. read more

The food - wonderful. Ambiance - busy - loud but that's to be expected on a Friday night. Service - Inside the restaurant is good. The negatives- You cannot place an order online or by phone. Try it. You'll see why. I don't know how they will stay in business unless this MAJOR issue is corrected. Phone goes to a recording that wants you to leave a message. No option to order by phone. Online link doesn't take you anywhere so you can't order online. I had to drive over to order and was trying to take it to a party. Our ice cream cake melted while we waited ( 30 minute wait ) because we had to bring it with us as we were headed to the party from the restaurant . Just very inconvenient. read more

I actually have no idea how the Pizza is. I tried calling multiple times and they didn't answer so I drove to the restaurant to place a pick up order. She said it would be an hour and a half for one pizza and I asked why they don't answer the phone she said they turned them off because they were "kind of busy". We have visited King Dough a few times, so I feel confident in leaving this review. This is a fun restaurant. Ambience is cool. Great drink selection. Food is good, over-priced but good. Where my biggest beef lives is with the service. From the hostess when you enter, to really any staff member you interact with, you can anticipate a negative experience. Tonight we had the displeasure of sitting at the bar and being taken care of by the bartender. After being sat (at 6:00, prior to any big rush) we were not approached to get any kind of drink order until 10 minutes of being seated. This slowness is typical to this restaurant, so we were prepared. Following drinks, we were asked for our order (15 minutes later). Bartender didn't write it down (which is whatever) however, he approaches us 20 minutes later saying he forgot what we ordered and asked if we could say it to him again. At this point, the people next to us (who arrived afterwards) already had their appetizer. Frustrating. No apology. 30 minutes (and two empty drinks) later, our pizza arrives (no appetizer in sight). Again, nothing from our server. Had to track him down asking if our app would be arriving (???) no ask of refills, no apology, no asking how our current food is. Unfortunately this experience isn't a one-off, it's just freshly frustrating so I decided to leave a review. Order takeout, or don't order at all, either way I don't think you're missing anything. read more

I was disappointed with my experience here. I love the King Dough location downtown, but this location has some kinks to work out. We ordered a small salad and we couldn't even eat it because most of the salad was wilted and gross, which is extra frustrating because the small salad is $12. It's also a personal pet peeve of mine, when waiters don't tell you that dipping sauces like ranch cost extra, just tell me. Especially because they charged me $1.50 for a side of ranch- even with inflation, that's steep for ranch. I will say that the service was generally good. The pizza itself was a little above average, I got the Big boy. The pizza overall was not as good as my previous king dough experiences. So good! We got carry out and everything was great. The food was pretty pricey for salad/wings/pizza but I will say the quality was great. We got the antipasto salad, the sticky wings, and a build your own pizza. I will say the ambience of the restaurant also looked like a cool atmosphere when I did my carry out. The place was beautiful, clean bathrooms and food may be expensive but it's worth it. The service was excellent, very kind and overall it's an excellent pizza restaurant. We really enjoyed this pizza! The pepperoni was the small, "old school" kind which I like best. The crust was crispy & fell somewhere between thick & thin (sort of like hand-tossed). This is the worst run business in Indianapolis / Carmel. Ordered pizza. As we walked at the allotted 45 minute pick up time, we were informed our order was cancelled. No reason given. Said they would fill the order in another 45 minutes. Went back and they were still not ready after an hour wait, on top often the extra 45 minute wait. Then. And with apologies as to why the order was still it ready. This is the second time this has happened. They won't answer their phones. They have no one over the age of 22 with authority or want to help/ serve customers. Great place to open a pizza shop as the existing business is awful!!! read more

Yah! So good. Happy to find our new go-to pizza source!! We're so excited to have a pizza restaurant that satisfies all of the different tastes of everyone at home. Ridiculous, but often we get pizza from two different restaurants because the guys like the basic deep-dish pizza (Noble Romans) and the girls like the thinner, less-bready gourmet artisan pizza (such as Pizzology). But we ALL liked King Dough's pizza!! It was 'in the middle' -- tasty with medium-thick chewy crust. It was easy to order, and we appreciated the cheerful & friendly help when we picked up as well as the clean nice-looking restaurant. Parking is easy to find just east of Meijer (Old Meridian & Carmel Drive); you can park on 3 sides of the restaurant. We ordered carryout, four 14" pizzas for 4 people: Margarita, cheese, veggie, & gluten-free. Again, everyone was happy with 'their' pizza they ordered. Leftovers were enjoyed day 2 :) We'll be back! read more

Unfortunately we had a terrible experience, ordered online for pickup, order cancelled. Had a large group at the house to feed and tried to get an order placed at 5:45 pm. They cancelled the first order (without calling) when we arrived they apologized and offered to supply the 5 pizzas for us, but it would be 45 mins. When we arrived to collect the second order, they did not have the order ready and after discussion we left without any pizza. With the amount of investment required to get a business to this stage and to let your customers down (there were many people that had been waiting two plus hours) is disappointing. Placed a new order with Loumalnati's (should have done this first) and 30 mins later we had out order filled with good hot pizza! The wings were very good and meaty. However, the salad was limp and soggy and the pizzas were extremely greasy. Most disappointing was we ordered 18 inch pizzas and they looked to be about 14 inches. This is second time we've come here, and both times the pizzas came out very small compared to the 18 inch tray that they sit on. The destroyer pizza we ordered hardly had any sausage on it or other toppings. Please note they automatically put 20% gratuity on your bill without telling you or it being listed on the menu. The service was excellent but for the extremely high price and inconsistent quality I cannot give it a favorable review. read more

Love the original location in Indy. Always delivers, so I was so excited to see one open close by. I wanted so badly to give 5 stars but not this visit. We were looking forward to a fun cocktail but were told they only have aromatics & beer/wine so we ordered a couple of shiners & small Greek salad ... the salad was superb! It's always a fave! For pizza we did a cheese & a small pepperoni & asked for them to be well done/very cooked. The pepperoni was good but the bottom of our cheese pizza was basically raw very disappointed!! The top was nice & crispy but it did not spend enough time in the oven. I brought it home & put it my oven for 15-20 min & cooked it through .. tasted great! I love love this pizza but am begging y'all to COOK THE CRUST more!! read more

The food is great but the service is poor even for take out. Hopefully it is just from it recently opening. The website looks like you can place an online order but it doesn't work. They know this. How hard is it to correct or remove? Came in to place a take out order. After I placed it has to ask how long it will be. Really? Then my warm app appears in a few minutes and sits out on the counter so it can be ice cold after my 30 plus minute wait. I didn't mind waiting. I expected it but they can't coordinate the order.
