    Pepperoni and meatball pizza
    Abigail W.

This was our first time at Mellow Mushroom -- I know, we're a little late to the party! We ordered a pepperoni and meatball pizza, our go-to when trying a new place, and it did not disappoint. The pizza came out fast, piping hot, and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was fun and welcoming, and our server was A+ -- super friendly and on top of everything. Between the great service and tasty food, we're already looking forward to coming back!

Yummmmmmm!!!! We love this pizza spot! We don't live super close but anytime we are in the Carmel area, we make an effort to stop here, either for eat-in or takeout. The service is always very friendly and the food is ALWAYS amazing. We try to come early in the day before it is really busy and as we walk in, we are always greeted and offered to seat ourselves wherever we'd like. Our favorite is The Great White. On this last visit, we got a gluten free and a regular Great White. I was pretty impressed with the GF pizza. The other awesome thing is their soda mix. They serve Coke products and the mix is always fantastic.

I dont get over to Mellow Mushroom very often, maybe twice a year. But have been coming for nearly 20 years! The food is always good. Service is always friendly. (If a little slow, but they can get very busy. Sit back and relax!) I really like the nice big booths in the back. We tend to always get the pretzels, and this time our pizza was just a pepperoni. (They have a lot of interesting options.) The dough is soooo good! My only negative is when our server said did we want a cheese sauce for the pretzles (they come with maranara.) That dinky little cup of sauce was $3! $1 would be ok. Really that should be mentioned. Sigh. And the music is fairly loud, a little hard to talk. It's a busy place, lots of kids, too. I must be old, sigh. Anyway, the pizza and the pretzles are a #yum ! #ReviewsByRL

    Mad Italian

Mellow Mushroom has it figured out and is is the best pizza you can get! I'm hooked, I admit it. It's baked on a stone to perfection leaving the crust just right. Using fresh ingredients brings pizza to a different level. Had the monthly special "Mad Italian" and the House Special" Pizzas that met my craving and now it's on my mind everyday, both were so good. The mad Italian starts with an Olive oil and garlic base topped with mozzarella, salami, ham, onion, roasted red peppers, pepperoncini and sprinkled with parmesan cheese, a great combo that will definitely satisfy your taste buds The house special has pepperoni, sausage, ground beef, ham, bacon, mushrooms, olives, tomatoes, peppers, and onions with a red sauce base. Oh, and we started with the pretzel bites w beer butter Parmesan cheese. It's a nice sized order that comes out piping hot with crispy edges and pillowy soft centers! Now you see what I mean. Just go see, you will love it. I keep pizza dreaming. Haha. The place has a lot to look at with their unique decor and the booth is comfy, with ample space. Service was top notch-we had a very attentive but not bothersome server. I'd give more stats if I could. Excellent!

What a neat spot! Lots of fun decor and art on the walls. It was very busy, but service speed was still good. We got a medium pepperoni and black olive pizza which was perfect for two people, but if you want leftovers, I suggest a large one. We were so hungry and the pizza was so good that I forgot to take a before picture. The pizza was on the greasier side. I will note that we had asked for it to be thin crust, yet I did not notice a difference between our crust and our friend's normal medium pizza crust. Oh well, it still tasted good. Their sweet tea was amazing too.

Holy Shiitake this pie is amazing!!

First time eating at Mellow Mushroom in Carmel and we were pleased to learn it was the same delicious experience that we have always had when eating at other locations on vacation! The Holy Shiitake small pizza was absolutely fantastic!! Great flavor and bubbly rise on crust and very tasty and clever toppings. The cheese bread was great and just crispy enough and my boyfriend's Italian sandwich was same excellent taste he's always had in Gatlinburg! Fun dining room setting full of color and quirky theming, nice outdoor seating area, good beer, cocktail and mocktail offerings and friendly service. Excited to get back and try the vegan cheese next time (they were out today)!

Drove 30 minutes to this kind of a welcome! Thanks for nothing.

What goes around, comes around Ate the Kosmic Karma pizza and it was one for the books! So happy to try this new pizza it was delicious The pesto was also amazing and it definitely filled us up happily The pretzel bites and beer cheese in this Indiana location were also really good! If you're ever around a Mellow Mushroom you have to go and try their food, they never disappoint! We even got a complimentary brownie sundae for Jake's birthday not to mention THE AMBIANCE OF THE RESTAURANT WAS AMAZING! All the artwork was perfection and our waitress was super sweet!!!

    Bruschetta

Had dinner here and everything was delicious! The different textures of the bruschetta and Kosmic Karma pizza made me happy that we got both items on the menu, but they tasted very similar so I'll get one over the other next time (hard to choose between them though!) It did take some time for a server to come over, which had us waiting to order for a while. But our server was kind, and the interior decor was fun, vibrant, and interesting to look at as we talked and ate

    Cool, large mushroom at entrance

We'd never been to Mellow Mushroom until a few weeks ago when 8 of us went for dinner. The interior has a funky, 60's vibe with cute decor. A large mushroom by the front door and a VW Microbus creates a hippie motif. We were concerned about how quickly our food would arrive with 8 people. It turns out we were worried needlessly. Our server was great, and drinks arrived quickly with timely refills. The pizzas and sandwiches were delivered together so everyone could eat with each other and share yummy pizza slices. The menu offers salads (Bacon Blue Wedge), pretzel bites, spinach dip, wings, and Bruschetta. All I could make a meal of. Of course, you can create your own pizza, select gluten or vegan free, order one of the specialty pizzas, or modify any existing pizza. A few of the pizzas that caught my eye were the Holy Shiitake and Funky Q. Chicken. I ordered the Kosmic Karma pizza covered with red sauce, spinach, roasted tomatoes, fresh Roma tomatoes, mozzarella, and crumbled sheep's milk feta cheese plus applewood-smoked bacon. The toppings were fresh with generous portions of each ingredient and a chewy crust. The bacon was my favorite topping and not overcooked. My next pizza will be the Pacific Rim or Veg Out and add the apple-smoked bacon. My husband ordered the Burger and Fries and said it wasn't memorable. This was a fun trip with the group, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys pizzas and salads.

I used to go there a lot but stopped when it seemed their cleanliness standards weren't mine. Any thoughts on that, good or bad?

Last time I was there I found a bug in my salad and a hair in my pizza so I agree with you. The locations in Florida (where I first learned about MM) were much, much cleaner.

Our server somehow navigated his crazy, chaotic section with ease, making sure to check on us multiple times. I think I just had bad luck with what I ordered, because everyone else's food looked or tasted much better than mine! I got the Crack Dip, and some boneless wings with the dry goat rub (was recommended). The crack dip came with chicharrones, which was interesting. It tasted...fine. Just kinda bland with not much going for so it, other than being cream cheesey. Unfortunately the chicharrones did not really add much to the experience. My boneless wings were also the same... Fine. Kinda bland. The dry rub doesn't actually stick to the breading, so it was just plain chunks of breaded chicken tenders with a little pile of seasoning sitting in the bottom of the basket. My friends food however, was actually pretty tasty! The bone-in wings with chili garlic honey sauce were zesty and juicy. Two others ordered burgers, which were decently sized and were rated as delicious. Another friend got the thai chicken lettuce wraps, which the sauces were very tasty with. The sidewinder fries are very big and seasoned well. I would come again and try something different, I just I just got unlucky with my picks.

And when they finally did, she made us pay before she ever served a drink. Not only that, it took nearly 30 minutes to complete our drink order. The worst part is that the bartender forgot one of our drinks and we were told she only charged us for two drinks instead of three which was a flat out lie. Especially since we had a long drawn out conversation about her inability to change the alcohol type in one of our drinks because it's premixed, you'd think she would remember. Sadly, no. We should have left then but were there for a watch party. So we ended up reordering and paying again for the missing drink. We moved to a different area of the bar and still experienced subpar service. Nearly every staff member in this place had the look on their faces like everyone was an inconvenience to them. Not one smile. Very limited interaction. And overall, extremely poor customer service. I would not recommend! Cherry on top: when you pay, they have the unmitigated gall to have the tip increments go from 22-30%. Not a one person who "served" us worked to deserve a tip of that magnitude. And I'm saying this as a very generous tipper! Never again....which I'm sure they don't mind since it's clear they don't care.

Muldoon's ended up being exactly what we were hoping for. The covered patio was comfortable, welcoming, and surprisingly peaceful despite being right downtown. Our server kept the drinks coming while we caught up, and the atmosphere made it easy to lose track of time. The real MVP of the afternoon, though, was my friend's tiny pup. She became the unofficial patio greeter, with a steady stream of people stopping by to say hello, ask to pet her, and strike up conversations. Before we knew it, we'd spent hours chatting with each other and a handful of friendly strangers. Sometimes the best restaurant memories aren't about one unforgettable meal--they're about finding a place where you're happy to linger. Muldoon's absolutely delivered that kind of afternoon. We went for a 3:00 show on a Sunday such that by the time we got out, it was 6:00-still early. It was in the 30's outside and already dark (thanks DLS time). Yet as we reached the top of the stairs to the lobby I was immediately disappointed that there was no fire lit in the fireplace. There were only three parties in the place. One was around the corner in the adjoining sitting area and may or may not have been drinking. There were two couples at the bar, where we considered also sitting. But the only empty spot for two had two dirty drink glasses from a previous patron still sitting. So we opted for the leather couch and chair in the main area just across from the bar. And that's where we waited, and waited, for almost 30 minutes, before giving up on getting served (or acknowledged). There was only one bartender, so we were fine with going up to order but communication would have been helpful. We stood at the bar while she chatted with the two couples, who'd all been served. We couldn't really figure out what she was doing as she seemed busy-ish yet wasn't serving, or clearing, or washing, and we were chatting between ourselves and didn't really give it much thought. Then she said she was out of something and was leaving the bar to go fetch it. We asked her to let us know when she was ready to serve us, and we took our seats to resume our conversation. The bartender returned after a while, and she served one of the original couples ... for another 10 minutes at least. Again we were talking so, while an irritation, it was in the background. About 50 minutes into our visit, she came over and took our drink order. This was my third or fourth visit, and I'd ordered my drink, an old fashioned, before and knew what to expect: bourbon of choice, Luxardo cherry, and a dehydrated orange slice. Ten minutes later we got our drinks. Now mind you, my friend ordered a glass of wine. Nothing time consuming about that. She noted that her pour was smaller than the other times she'd been there. Mine came with the whisky cube already on its way to melted, a broken (a.k.a. piece of) cherry and a twist. What? Where's my glorious little crunchy orange wheel of goodness? I had spied them on the bar earlier. No soup for me! Also, and I can't be sure 100% sure of this, but I tasted neither bitters nor syrup. Was this really just a bourbon rocks? It took a minute but we realized this gal cannot tend and talk at the same time. My friend commented that she had no idea what will happen when the place gets busy, as it has been every other time I've been there. We left after 8:00, after one drink, and for me, $21 lighter. Yeah, it's pricey. And the Carmichael crowd is a discriminating one. So we expected better. Much, much better.
