My family and I originally went to the Carroll Way location, but when we arrived, we were told it wasn't AYCE. The staff said another location about 6 minutes away also offered AYCE, so we decided to drive there. It was confusing , this should be more clarified correctly online on what location is À la cate and AYCE. This was around 8:45- 9 pm on a weekday. Our party was 8 people, and when we arrived, we were squeezed into a booth with a chair at the end, which made it very uncomfortable especially since one of our family members is a bigger guy. Staff didn't really help with the seating situation. To make things worse, the young male staff member assisting with messy spiked hair wasn't very helpful with ordering instructions. He told us we had to fill out a paper, but we couldn't find the correct sheet for sashimi options. When we asked for clarification, he just repeated that it was the only this paper ..which made ordering confusing. It honestly felt like he didn't want us to order a lot because they were closing . We eventually asked another server for help, who was much more helpful and explained everything clearly and actually guided us through the ordering process. We even requested a different server after that, so she took over and made things easier for us. Unfortunately, the sushi itself was also disappointing. The portions were inconsistent some tuna pieces had a dime sized amount of rice, and others had none at all. Overall, the seafood quality felt low compared to other places I've tried. I understand it was late and they may have been rushing, but between the service, confusion, and food quality, I don't think I'll be returning! read more

I've already reviewed this spot, but Sake2Me deserves another round of praise after my recent visit! My mom's birthday celebration was a few days ago, and her only request was that our family eat as much all you can eat sushi as possible. Knew we had to revisit our favorite OC spot for AYCE sushi! I want to specially thank our server Kim who made the whole experience amazing! She made sure everything was brought out super quickly, cleaned up/organized all the dishes efficiently (because we ordered so much), gave us recommendations and tips on ordering in Korean, and was so friendly and attentive! We mentioned that it was my mom's birthday, and they put on a whole light show and blasted birthday music, as well as a candlelit matcha Samanco ice cream, my mom's favorite! Thank you Kim!!! As always, the food was exceptional. I've never been here for dinner, and there are a few premium options included only for the dinner price which were delicious. We went in a large party, so we were able to try almost all of the appetizers this time, all of which were super fresh and came out quickly. The cuts on the nigiri were so big and fresh, and my favorite thing to get here- the spicy tuna crispy rice- was as amazing as I remembered. My family and I were looking for a new AYCE sushi spot to try in OC and found our way to Sake2Me on Newport Ave. We came in on a Thursday night for dinner and they were busy. There was a small wait, but we were promptly seated once a table opened up. We brought our baby with us and the staff were so accommodating and kind to her even though she's not eating sushi yet. It was already a memorable experience for us just based off of that alone. Sake2Me is located in a corner spot of a shopping center. There is free parking shared among the businesses. The inside of the establishment is cozy, but makes excellent use of space to fit several diners in at a time. Their menu offers a variety of choices to please many palettes and was reasonably priced for the quality. Some of our favorite items off of the menu included the Mango Tango roll and Cajun Salmon sushi. The Carpaccio was also solid. I appreciate how most of the rolls on the AYCE menu aren't full size; thus, allowing diners to try more options. Sake2Me left a strong first impression on my family and may be our new AYCE sushi spot in OC. Looking forward to returning again in the future to try more tasty sushi off of their menu! read more

This was my first time in a long while at Sake2Me Sushi. And my first time at this location. I was invited by a friend for lunch. This sushi restaurant is located in a small strip mall off of Newport Ave in the City of Tustin, a high traffic area. There is parking out front. As we walked in, we were immediately greeted and seated. The inside is small and modern. The wicker basket shaped light pendants, the low light intensity, the earth tone colors and the Japanese decor on the wall as well as somewhat private booths make the space feel warm, cozy and inviting. They also had a muted television with classic world cup soccer matches on. You have the option to order "à la carte" or "all you can eat" we opted for the AYCE option for $39.99 per person which applies from Fridays to Sundays and Holidays. The rest of the week, lunch is $32.99/person and dinner $37.99/person. Kids 3-10 are $32.99 always. You get 3 rounds of orders. The first round is limited to 10 orders of sushi and 2 orders of rolls per person. They offer a good variety of items. From Shareable appetizers, to single piece sushi, to rolls and much more. Everything arrived quickly and everything tasted fresh. We ordered quite a bit of food. Mostly everything was really good. My favorite items were the mushroom tempura, Chicken Gyoza, the crunch Roll and the BBQ Albacore Roll. Everyone was friendly and the overall experience was pleasant. read more

Came to Sake2Me in Tustin and had such a solid experience. We went the all you can eat route and felt like it was absolutely worth it. The nigiri was a standout right away. The sushi here isn't bad, but it all felt one note. I feel like they use lower quality fish than their non AYCE location. While this is understandable, it's still disappointing as I have had much better AYCE sushi at other restaurants for around the same price point. With that said, the customer service here is great and they definitely don't do what a lot of other AYCE places do where they drag their feet in getting other rounds in and out to you. This meal, even with 9 of us ordering constantly, they did an amazing job of keeping our table full of food. I commend them for that. So, in all, did Sake2Me scratch the AYCE sushi itch we had? Yes. My son and I were in OC dropping his gf in Santa Ana, we had to stop since OC has great sushi places. This place was a great choice, fresh sushi, tasty rolls, and price is great! Service was awesome, we were seated and asked what drinks , another sever came by not even 5 minutes asking if we like drinks, super! They have roll specials and all you eat. Visited with my husband plus some friends for a weekend lunch. We had the option of ordering a la carte or all-you-can-eat (AYCE). We decided to do the AYCE menu, as it appeared to be a pretty good value. We ordered a bunch of different items ranging from appetizers, sushi, sashimi, and rolls. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I really enjoyed the salmon and tuna carpaccio. There are a ton of diverse roll selections. One of my favorite rolls that I tried is the "I Love Salmon" roll. As a salmon lover, I thought this roll was perfect. The presentation of all the sushi was stellar. Additionally, the service here was attentive and excellent. Each round of food was served in a timely manner. This casual restaurant is great for big groups as well as small groups. Parking is plentiful in the shared lot. Was craving sushi so my boyfriend and I decided to go to our go-to AYCE spot, Sake2Me. We came at around 6pm so there was no wait and we were seated right away. There's plenty of seating inside and more tables filled up while we were eating. We love getting the shrimp tempura, spicy tuna crispy rice, and takoyaki for appetizers. The fish is really good and we especially like the cajun salmon nigiri and the jumbo scallop nigiri (from the premium sushi menu). I think the Sake 2 Me in Cerritos is better. The fish here is a little dry, and I even left the restaurant smelling like fish. Was getting a bit nauseous in the car drive home before we realized there was a lingering "fish market" type of smell on our clothes that was the root cause. BUT - There's definitely a lot of fish, baked rolls, and side dish selections to choose from though. The yellowtail collar was delicious. The salmon skin hand roll was a bit dry and over fried. They missed our miso soup order the first time around (seems like a very common mistake at AYCE sushi restaurants), so we had to order it again in the second round. You can only order 40 pieces the first round (no limit in rounds two or three), but that does not include any of the premium 1 order per person dishes. You can order those in the first round as well even if you maxed out the 40 pc limit. The tempura vegetable and shrimp were freshly fried and super hot and crisp - these were perfect. We ordered a few other side dishes; they were okay. The chefs do put some thought into the presentation of the food and plating though. The fish to rice ratio is good here, they don't bombard you with too much rice. We did not order any baked or cooked rolls. I normally go to AYCE for the raw fish, so this is what I'm rating on. unfortunately it wasn't that impressive here. read more

Servers were really professional, informative, friendly, and welcoming. The interior is underrated, a darker ambience than most restaurants, moderate amount of seating, not tight nor too spacious, perfect for a sushi restaurant, very clean as well. Parking is free and plentiful around a popular plaza. We came here for AYCE on the weekends and it's at a affordable price ($39.99). Our orders were taken really fast and the food came out moderately quick as well. Presentation is amazing, especially the sushi fish board. All the fishes were really delicious & well made, not too much rice to overpower the taste of the fish, perfect balance. The Sake2Me Special Roll (8pc) is my standout dish, highly recommend even for non rice roll enjoyers, it's super savory and has great balance of flavors between the ingredients and the extra ingredients on top + sauce. There's also premium items as well that can only be offered once, delicious and well presented. Ive been here a couple of times for lunch with coworkers and stopped by for a quick lunch on my own. If you are really hungry, I would go with the all you can eat. Its totally worth it and you get everything on the menu. My favorites are the chuck norice and anything from the baked section. For a simple lunch I have had the box lunch that comes with a good amount of food that will also satisfy your hunger. The service is quick and the food comes out at a good time even when it's busy. We didn't do the all you can eat this time but my friend has and she really enjoyed it. We did the a la carte sushi rolls which were 50%off. What a deal. I also like that they have no rice rolls! Totally my jam! I tried the Romeo which was great and they did not skimp on the serving size! The rolly polly took a little longer to make but was fresh and smooth. Nothing had a fishy smell or taste. My friend also got a side salad for $4.95, that was a great value for her delicious looking salad too. Impressive. Would totally come back for the AYCE. Let me start by saying, this was my first time eating sushi at a sit-down restaurant, and I was amazed at my experience. I am unsure if I will find another restaurant with the same service anytime soon. I went on a weekend evening, where it was pretty busy, but calm. The bar was set high immediately upon walking in, with a warm greeting. Every employee we encountered was extremely attentive and delightful. As for the food? Oh my gosh it was so delicous! Ah, the Yuzu Yellowtail roll was probably the best roll I've had this year. It was perfectly yuzu-ey and the yellowtail was FRESH! I'm not so much a roll person and would prefer all nigiri but I'd totally recommend this if you're looking for something refreshing. I did not get AYCE and ordered from the menu as I wanted a quick light meal. The nigiri I ordered were okay, they were fresh and the rice was seasoned. A bit on the smaller side than I'd like (sliced fish, rice portion) If I were to come again I'd prob do AYCE instead. The employees were super nice and friendly and our orders were taken swiftly. The fish quality was decent. However, **MAKE SURE** anything you order, you eat every. single. piece. of food on all your dishes or be prepared to pay $2 PER piece for anything left over on your plate. For reference, this is what we had left on our plate that we got a warning for that we will be charged for "leftovers". So that being said, take this as your warning that when you're ordering for your table to make sure you can vacuum up every crumb before you ask for the check unless u wanna pay those extra little fees. I also tried the No Rice Rolls (Juliet & Chuck Norice)--perfect for keto/low-carb eaters like me. The plating is beautiful with flower garnishes, making every dish photo-worthy . Came here for a team lunch to celebrate a birthday. We were a large group of 10 and they were able to fit us all together in the corner. The restaurant is not huge, so we were happy they could make this work vs 2 separate tables. The menu is vast. The sushi fish is pretty good quality, The fish to rice ratio was decent, and they were not really heavy on the rice. I was pretty pleased with a lot of the no rice rolls. They were seriously amazing! Green mussels from the appetizers are a great choice to order, but stay away from the Monkey Balls (a lot of people at my table were meh about these). Overall, this is a solid choice for AYCE sushi. If it is your birthday, they will give you a complimentary dessert and play a song with a light show that is really funny. This was our first time at Sake2Me, and we'll definitely be coming back. Most AYCE sushi spots don't offer much variety for kids, but this place really delivered something for everyone. We visited on Father's Day right when they opened at 11:30 AM, and there was already a line at the door--a good sign. The staff was friendly and got us seated right away. For our first round, we ordered a little bit of everything: hand rolls, deep-fried rolls, appetizers like takoyaki and karaage, and some kitchen items like teriyaki beef and chicken. The fish was fresh, and their menu has a great mix--perfect for both sushi lovers and those who prefer crunchy or cooked rolls. The takoyaki and karaage were standouts for me--I even placed a second order just for more takoyaki! The only downside, and the reason for the 4-star rating, was the service flow. Our deep-fried rolls came out before the hand rolls and other sushi, which caused our table to be a bit staggered with eating. It took almost an hour for our full first round to arrive and for us to receive the order sheet for the second round. One roll came out incorrect, and a teriyaki chicken order for my son was missed--not a big deal, but something to note. Overall, we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere, and I look forward to returning. Wow this place was so amazing in all aspects! First off, the parking was easy and there's tons in the lot. The service was fast & friendly. All the servers looked happy and were joking around with us. The atmosphere is very cute & has cute little booths all around. They also do this fun birthday song where they dim the lights (only for a couple moments) & then colored lights come on along with some techno music! We saw this happen a couple times that night. Finally the food was incredible (at a fair price too). Got the garlic edamame, the blue fin tuna, salmon belly, salmon yuzu roll, eel roll, salmon carpaccio, & miso soup.
