I've had a lot of gyro's from places all over the US since I travel for work a lot. I don't usually leave reviews, but this was easily the best gyro I've ever had. The lamb fell apart in my mouth and was full of flavor. The tzatziki sauce was made very well, and the pita was soft and fresh. The fry's that came with the meal were also wonderful, and the entire thing only cost about 13$. The gyro was packed full of lamb and I was surprised I finished the whole thing. I live on the opposite side of the city and just happened to be over in this area for work. I stopped in for lunch and the lady behind the counter was very nice and helpful as well. King Gyros is an an excellent place to go for food simply because of the portentous portions. I got a gyro plate with no onions: it included two pita breads, some tomatoes, a small salad, fries, and lots of gyro meat. I am not a fan of salad so I was pleasantly surprised by how great the salad was. I thought the fries were average. But the gyros and sauce were excellent. I tried out the deep fried zucchini and it was above average. Overall, I couldn't even finish the gyro plate because there was so much food. My whole order came out to $18.46. read more

This is one of my must stops when I visit Phoenix. The food is absolutely incredible!! First of all, it's a family owned and run restaurant, and they treat you like family!! Had the Greek spaghetti at lunch. Really tasty, huge portion, somewhat different than your normal spaghetti, and in a good way. The side Greek salad was excellent as well, and also fairly large for a side salad. The lunch deal even included a slice of buttered garlic bread which was good, although not some freshly baked/toasted wonder. Really solid lunch in total. Good price as well. I think it was $15 or so after slapping on a 15% tip. Have to say; that salad and spaghetti was really good, and I will definitely be back to try other options. This is our only Greek place. There is no other option because this is the absolute best one. We always get the gyro salad and it's just perfect. There is not one bad thing to say about this place. We love it here. Service is always superb, whether you're dine in or take out. The only negative is that they aren't open on Sundays, but I guess they deserve one day off . EAT HERE!!! This place deserves a five star one for the cleanliness of the whole restaurant they did run out of soap but when I address the issue they took care of it right away also the energy of the coworkers there were awesome. The seasoning of the meats were wonderful there were three guys working when I went in today they all were passionate about the job or positions this is one of the best gyro spots out of Phoenix Tempe and Chandler. This was our first time at this restaurant. We both had heard great reviews but..... We won't be going back again. The woman taking our order not once put a smile on her face. We told her it was our first time in and she didn't care whether we stayed or walked out. I was also VERY disappointed that there was no fresh brewed iced tea. I can't think of one single reason for you to not eat at King Gyros! We absolutely loved our meals. This is a local small business, that is so deserving of support. From the time we arrived, until the time we left... we were treated with such kindness and attentiveness. The restaurant was spotless and so clean. And the food is fantastic! This is legitimate Greek cooking at its finest. My wife had the Chicken Pita, which looked amazing and she said it was fantastic. Our parents had the Gyros and loved it. I had their Falafel Pita and can tell you first hand, it's a must try. They make if fresh and the taste and texture is perfect. As far as portion size is concerned... so generous, for such an amazing price. Wow!! While we were there, we had the chance to speak with one of the owners and learn about some of the dishes they prepare. She was such a sweet person and you can tell that she and her family are passionate about the food they prepare and want to make sure everyone enjoys their meal and feels welcome. We will be adding this to our list of restaurants we consider "must eats", when visiting our family in our home city (Phoenix). WAY TO GO KING GYRO!!!! We were home sing for a good gyro and lo and behold, we were recommended this establishment by someone at Mahalo Made (delicious shaved snow)! It is an old school mom and pop with a no nonsense, no frills menu. We ordered falafel and the combination plate (charbroiled chicken kabob, ground beef, gyro meat, rice, Greek salad and two pita. The falafel were delicious! Moist and savory on the inside and crispy on the outside! The tzatziki sauce was nice and mild, which complemented the meat really well. Besides the protein, they were not stingy with the rice, which is made once daily, so when they run out, that's it for the day. We actually ended up with the last of the day's rice unknowingly, until another customer came in and we heard them tell him they were out of rice! The owner did recommend other menu items to the other customer, so I'd say that warrants a good service mention. Wish there was a King Gyros in Texas! read more

We have tried other Greek restaurants all over the valley...and we all agree that none of them have food as good as King Gyros. Stopped by for lunch with my son after we were informed the they were also the owners of Pepper sauce our favorite lunch destination down by my office. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the owner. Very nice. Son and I both had the Gyro combination, I had mine with Rice and Aidan had his with FF.
