King Maker Brewing is a chill, industrial-style brewery. They have the best sours! The Pineapple Upside Down Cake is my go-to. Hubby loves the Royal Red and Oktoberfest. Great for larger groups since they have plenty of standing room, couches, and even a Biergarten. They also have a bunch of games to play while drinking and hanging out with friends. First time here... good experience. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area has plenty to do- foosball, pool tables, golden tee, corn hole, Jenga, toys for kids. There's a permanent food truck on site- El Cubano Jax. Didn't try it because we had other plans but the menu looked good. Service was pretty quick for only having 1 bartender when we were there. It was a nice, chill spot to have a few brews while the kids were playing. We stopped into King Maker to refresh and refuel after an afternoon of curio and vintage shopping. It was the perfect choice. King Maker Brewery had a nice amount of diverse styles on tap (I am fan of sours and was not disappointed) and the kitchen had upscaled what are often considered to be bar food standards. We tried burgers and chicken sandwiches - and enjoyed them all - but the corn bites and fried pickles are what stood out for our group. Both the bites and pickles were lightly breaded and fried perfectly. Crisp outside, molten inside. The pickle's sharp vinegar cut the oil beautifully. If I could get an order now, I would. There were a good number of options on tap ensuring something for everyone. We tried the Ziggy Salz and Sweet Caroline, and both lives up to their names. The Ziggy was salt forward, but not tongue burning, and the Sweet Caroline was not cloying. We also enjoyed their dry cider which reminded us of some of our favorite British local brews with it's crispness. The testing room itself is pleasant, clean, and decorated with the work of local artists. The staff was fun, knowledgeable, and took great care of our party. Beer is okay. We got a flight which is always fun. They have a BBQ food truck that's here on Fridays. The other food trucks are on their website. BBQ was delicious. They have some glass blowing classes which is cool. They also have pottery classes too. Wide area where people do the arts and crafts and smoke cigars and play ping pong and pool. King Maker Brewing has one of the best vibes of the Jax breweries and some of the best sour beers I've tried! Came here on a Sunday afternoon after lunch in Riverside after seeing how many sours were on the menu. We ordered the flight inside and immediately took it to one of the picnic tables in their open air section. There were darts, games, and a live band inside. What a lovely way to spend a sunny day! They also had amazing looking pretzels which sadly we did not try since we were full. It also looks like they have a lot of cool events during the week. As for the beers, each one was tasty but the kiwi melon sour was by far my favorite! You could really taste the melon in it- super refreshing! Stoped in for a drink before seeing Aladdin. I tried a sour beer and it was amazing. The name escapes me now but the staff was super friendly. They also had the cutest tap room with art all over. There was an additional warehouse space with picnic tables. Really enjoyed it! I saw a really cute Octoberfest ad on Facebook so we invited another couple (who were in Germany a number of years) to go with us. I'm glad they did not dress in German garb bec this was a very casual place. It has 3 areas, 1st you go in a building with a/c and tables etc to get beer and order food, then you could go outside to an Astro turfed enclosed area (number of people with their well behaved dogs and kids) with a food truck (makes the food and then brought to you) in front of it an open building behind it, the 3rd area (the building behind) was a large roofed open space that had numbers of picnic tables, 2pool tables, other game options (including a huge play area for kids-playhouse, etc.) and the brewing vats to the side. What I saw and wondered about was they also had a trailer parked inside that showed "Brunt Ends" the glass blowing company. I guess they offer workshops there too...cool! The pretzel was fresh, warm, buttery snd good! There was a great variety of beers and our informative bartender worked with us to get the right one for us. We wanted chicken schnitzel but they were out so we order a sampling platter of bratwurst, knockwurst and kielbasa all grilled, with two mustards..also very good and plenty for two! I know her from a different bar and she always does a good job. King Maker is pretty far from my house so I'm not sure when we'll be back. We went to King Maker Brewing for a Vets on TAP networking event. It was wonderful from the atmosphere, venue, and staff to the great drinks. They have an inside area, large parking lot (plenty of room for a food truck, which we had- the Butt Hutt- which was delish). Christy on the outside bar and Garrett on the inside bar were fabulous and kept the drinks flowing with a good selection and good recommendations. Chas, the owner, was also there and was very personable and seemed to be a great local owner. They have a huge outdoor, covered space with tables, games, and different areas. Warning- I am not a beer drinker, I've now been to this location 3 times. Once with John so he could sample their beer. I was impressed with their commitment to display local artist works- and the second visit had different art displayed! So they rotate artwork in and out. My second visit was because Burnt Glassworks offers small workshops there on site! Heyyy~ I love when Breweries team up with local artisans for classes and workshops done on site! It's always a great pairing. I met my friend Vanessa T there for the glass blowing and she enjoyed a beer and I focused on the projects ahead of us! When I returned the next day to pick up our finished projects I noticed they had a mobile axe throwing caged trailer for patrons to participate in. The covered patio (ish) section has plenty of oversized games, tables and lounging areas. I believe the Glass studio is working on making it a full blown 2nd location (the mobile unit is parked in the back of the warehouse area)! Which is awesome. We finally made it over to King Maker. I have been completing my "Jax Beer Trail" passport and this is one of my remaining breweries. Luckily, Bold City Brewery is only a few blocks away. I already had a passport stamp for them. King Maker is new, only about a year old. King Maker definitely has the "industrial" look outside. Inside there is a large bar and plenty of seats & tables. There is also an outdoor patio area and a large warehouse space available for events. There were maybe 20 taps available; both guest taps and there own. No food here but food trucks do rotate through. I had a flight of four: Weihnachtsbock Christmas bock beer Toasted Coconut Honey Brown Ale Podcaster Session New England IPA Doublecaster Hazy IPA All were pretty good, especially the Coconut Honey Brown. Overall I'd like to go back and try more! read more

I would put zero if I could!!! #jaxaletrail stop 3 of the day and the worst service ever! "Bartender" sold me a frose that was definitely not frozen and when I asked is this flavored he said no. Upon serving it to me I said this is not very good.... And it tastes like bananas. I asked if I could try the Pina Colada before purchasing because I didn't want to waste his product... to which he said "NO you can buy it that's pretty much it" ... They have an outdoor seating area that sits on the loading dock where the beer is brewed. The decor is very laid-back and clean. Staff is cleaning after anybody leaves the facility so you shouldn't worry about coming to this place. Parking is limited so walk or bike. read more

Awesome place, parking is super limited as it's a modified loading dock. I went on a Thursday and had front row but definitely believe this won't be the case on hot hours. This is simply a cool place to hang out. The beer is solid. I tried the hazy New England IPA. My wife tried to the gose which she enjoyed. You can sit and hang out in their brewhouse with comfy couches, corn hole, and ping pong or you can opt for the well-polished bar inside. They do host live music.
