What a find King Neptune's is! It's a small hole in the wall place in Port Salerno. The food is out of sight good. We had the seafood pasta and the yellowtail special that was encrusted with crab. The flavors explode in your mouth. They serve wine and beer. The wine list was limited as you might expect. The bottle of chardonnay that we had was Dante. I don't know it, but is was fine. We arrived at 5:15 on a Thursday and got the last available table. Every time that someone left, someone else was seated. If you get there when it is really busy, expect a wait. Many customers were greeted by name. They have their regulars. If you like great seafood, you must try this place. read more

The 2 of us ordered conch fritters (okay as apps because the taste was monotonous and a dinner of them would be too much), fish and chips, and buffalo grouper sandwich. The grouper sandwich was an unremarkable piece of fried fish with hot sauce ladled on top-no special sauce, just hot sauce. The French fries/chips were very good; however, the partnered fish was so soft that it lent a greasy feel and taste. So, back it went and was replaced with a Caesar salad w/blackened shrimp. Meh on the salad and the blackened shrimp had an awful bitter flavor from the grill. To sum it up, it wasn't worth the $38 and definitely not worth a repeat visit. read more

This place is so awesome, and the food is so good! King Neptune's has a friendly wait staff with great service. I love their conch sandwich and jerked mahi sandwich. The sauce the cracked conch comes with is so tasty. They make a good bisque and conch chowder. If you have a sweet tooth their key lime pie is yummy! Always fresh ingredients! It's a small place that may not seem like much from the outside, but I can assure you it's well worth a try. It's good, casual, and reasonably priced, and one of my favorite spots in the area!! We had dinner last season (2011) at King Neptune and were very pleased. On our trip to FL, we planned on having dinner there again this past Saturday. My husband called and spoke with the owner/manager in the early afternoon explaining that we would be a party of 4, 3 of us would be there at 5:45 and my sister in law would be joining us shortly thereafter. Everything was ok until we arrived. There was a party of 4 ahead of us, an empty 6 table and a 4 which was just finishing. We asked if we could have the 6 and were told no, they were waiting and holding it in case a 5 party came in. Five minutes later the manager seated the 4 at the 6, started walking us on to the 4 and then saw there only 3 and refused to seat us. We would have gladly paid for my sister in law's app and drink, instead she threw the menus down and refused to seat us ..No signage saying full parties must be present before seating and she had known we were coming in before my sister in law..her attitude was so poor and she successfully ruined our plans. So, unless you are willing to be abused, or are willing to put up with rules made up as she goes along, I would skip King Neptune. read more

Stopped here On our way from West Palm to Hutchinson Island. Small, family-owned restaurant with great fresh fish that is beautifully prepared and served. You could really taste the pistachios in the pistachio crusted Mahi. Macadamia nut crusted hog snapper was plentiful and delicious!!! The vegetables (snow peas) were crisp and fresh. Garlic mashed potatoes were creamy and the Tabasco onion rings were crisp, thin and light. No grease! The fried clams were light and tender. Best we've had ousted of Rockport, Ma. Went this last Thursday and had an excellent meal. The seafood bisque was to die for. It had great flavor and was full of actual seafood! I had the grilled shrimp,scallops and mahi which was also very flavorful. My wife had the hog fish special stuffed with crab. The fish was very fresh and tasted great. The crab was mostly crab and little filler. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and quantity of seafood. This is our new go to seafood restaurant. Not impressed. The all-you-can-eat fish and chips were terrible. I had more batter on the fish than I did meat and they were terribly greasy. And the chips were soggy as can all be. So, we ended up getting the conch fritters and a tuna melt. We would have sent this order back if we didn't already reject the fish and chips. So, here it goes, conch fritters lacked the conch and tasted a lot like onion. The tuna melt lacked flavor. Had the PERFECT lunch at the King yesterday. Neptune's signature salad with blackened shrimp, hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, black olives and field greens. Shrimp were done to perfection, not too much cheese, and fresh, tender artichoke/palm hearts. Portion size was perfect and topped with a light, fresh balsamic/soy vinaigrette. Utter perfection. Oh and the Tabasco onion rings I snitched from my husband's plate were amazing too. You won't go wrong here. read more

I don't like to be harsh but I need to. 3/4 of my dish were old French fries 1/4 coleslaw and then 1/4 fish. The mahi mahi was overlooked and it was the size of 2 small shrimp. The fried oysters we're full of water. I use to like this restaurant a lot but unfortunately I won't go back. The restaurant was clean and service was excellent. This is a restaurant known for fresh fish but I beg to differ. Please don't skimp on quality and the fish. read more

Ate on a Sunday afternoon. Restaurant was empty, so we were seated quickly. Extremely limited menu (for a seafood restaurant) very few options if you don't like fish. It can't be compared to a Red Lobster or other large seafood restaurant, but for those who like shrimp/lobster/crab; only two choices on the menu for you. I ordered the Shrimp Scampi over Linguini-major disappointment. Had very little taste. There was some type of sauce mixed in-couldn't tell if it was supposed to be Alfredo, a wine/butter or garlic drizzle; but it was watery and added nothing to the flavor. The five shrimp were overcooked and rubbery. It appeared that random vegetables were thrown in for appearance, not because they were part of the recipe. Maybe I went on the wrong day, but I've had much better food at Red Lobster. Prices are high for the quality of the meal I had. read more

Not the discovery I was led to believe it was. Several Yelpers recommended this place as an out-of-the-way surprise, so my wife and I headed there for lunch. It was quite crowded which isn't difficult for such a tiny place. We ordered the cracked conch as our appetizer, with all-you-can-eat pollock and chips as our meal. We usually don't order such a meal, but the sandwiches on the other tables seemed rather small, and we drove over an hour to get there. We sure didn't want to leave hungry! Everything we ordered tasted under flavored and under spiced. The conch was okay but uninspiring, and the fish was soggy and bland despite deep frying that should have given it crispness. Although we felt we received value and had full tummies, we will probably not be back. It's too long a drive, and there are better tasting seafood meals being prepared nearby. From now on, we'll stick to our favorites in this area. read more

Yes the food is good, especially the all you can eat shrimp. Big not over cooked. They did change the rules and you can not get the all you can eat shrimp after 6:30. And no notice of it. There is a but! The after 6:30 apparently means that you are seated at 6:25 and your waitress ignores you for 12 minutes because she is talking, talking, talking and talking to other customers. Then she comes to your table finally and sorry folks you missed the the deadline of 6:30. So no shrimp. We ordered other items that we liked a lot, but very sad about the shrimp. Never could get her attention for a glass of water because she was still talking. And she never came back to ask, only to leave the check. read more

First time there and I am local. I heard the food was good and the food was good only I left hungry. Spent $109 for 3 people had 2 appetizers that were so small they were gone in a second. With only limited seating, small place, you would think they could get the food out more quickly but it took nearly 45 min to get the food once the order was placed. My husband got the frog legs and I got the fish platter for lunch to go. Plus a side of conch fritters and conch chowder. I am a native floridian,seafood is my life. This place was way over priced! Honestly the taste of this food was really mediocre. Compared to all the pictures and reviews that drew me to this place. I received 2 tiny fish fingers (not golden fried but soggy) ,2 fried oysters (not golden fried but soggy),warm slaw (no flavor) the coconut shrimp was ok. My husband had 4 tiny frog legs (flavor was ok) soggy fries. The conch fritters (you only get 4) were good and the conch chowder was nice and hot just needed a little bit of season but it was good. Total price was $46.00. We didn't even get the Bimini bread that comes with the chowder. Yet I gave a tip as always and luck out of $50.00. Never again not even if I dine in will I eat here. But you live and you learn and I'm glad I did but you really can't believe every review not even mine you must try it for yourself because everybody's experience is different. This is my second time eating at this eatery. I wanted to go back and have The lobster Bisque Soup. A lot of the locals eat there for lunch I decided we were going to beat the locals. We walked in at 11.30am we picked our table the table with the high chairs very comfortable. We had the same waitress Joy. We both ordered the FAMOUS LOBSTER BISQUE SOUP! This time I had one shrimp in my bowl the last time I did not I gobbled it down as if I had not eaten for weeks. I was watching my 80 year old friend take his time eating the soup with his crackers my bowl sat empty. I was wishing that he did not like the soup and let me finish his soup! But that did not happen. I planned on trying there lobster roll telling my friend we will split the meal as I am on a strict diet. Joy brought the Lobster Roll with a extra plate to split the sandwich. It looked like a lot of lobster. At first I thought there was no bread on top of the sandwich the lobster roll was a MINI hot dog roll I was very disappointed. I thought it would be on a special bread such as a French bread or something gourmet. The lobster tasted great. My friend offered me his half come to find out he does not like lobster. The lobster roll is quite expensive as we all know Lobster is expensive to buy anywhere. I hope the owner of the Restaurant will consider changing the bread. I would not order this a second time but the next time to the King Neptune Restaurant I may just order two bowls of the delicious soup.
