    Fried Clams

Hello fellow yelpers, I was in Stuart this week and decided I would pick up some seafood before I went home. I am so glad I found this gem. Not only did they have great seafood items for purchase, but they are also a restaurant. I had an absolutely delicious lunch. It's been a long time since I had found a place that served whole belly fried clams. They have picnic tables outside or a few inside the store. The waiter, server and counter staff were all polite and attentive to me and the other customers. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for great seafood items.

    Crunchy grouper sandwich

Went for the 1st time. Looks like a fav for those wanting blue crabs! The peep r nice. Ord a Floridian basket which is grouper & mahi w/fries and coleslaw. It was ok, some fish pieces didnt seem to be cooked completely, fries the size of Micky D's had potential if they were crisp, coleslaw was good. Husb had the crunchy grouper sandwich he liked it, same on fries. Flo was great!! It's a small lil place also sells fish, most seating outside; today they had blue grass live music.

Well the first thing we can say about Basin Seafood is Wow!! Everything was Amazing, we started with a dozen steamed Ipswich clams so fresh and juicy. We also had a stuffed quahog for starters. We went on Friday night which is fish and chips for $14.95 night. The fish was delicious. Fresh and light. We also ordered a side of full belly fried clams that was incredible. The tartar sauce reminded my wife of New Bedford. Even the hush puppies were great. We recommend this restaurant Big Time. Look for Flo she was great.

The food is amazing $35 all you can eat blue crab! This was my first time here and eating blue crab I'm from detroit we do not get fresh seafood like this. The waitress was amazing she threw on some gloves to help her girl out and show me how to crack them without destroying my hands, the service was impeccable!! My sweet tea stayed full and the out door seating was amazing they even put up a fan for you to keep the bugs away. I even met a amazing couple that lives an hour away that comes for the all you can eat crab and a bucket of corona. I'll definitely be back to try more on the menu , i was stalking everyone else's dish and everything looked amazing!

    Jumbo Crabs

So I like this place, but there are a few things you need to know when you are eating the All You Can Eat Crabs. 1) Gratuity is included, don't add an another tip unless your service was excellent. 2) If you order the jumbo crabs they come with 4 crabs. 3) If you order the medium you get 6-8 at a time. 4) Jumbo crabs are good, but it is cheaper to order from the market directly, especially if you are not going to eat more than four. The service is great. They try to explain their process, but review your receipt. It's small indoors 6 tables. They also have outdoor seating as well. Not upscale, comfortable in a dive bar way.

    The rotten crabs

I was so disappointed 09/08/2024- we order the all you can eat crabs and we could only get one good crabs out of all the ones we ate. They were disgusting no meat and mushy at the same time. All the waiter could say is I am sorry, she saw that every crab that was open was rotten. and did not offered any solutions, but the manager is not around to refund you the money for the crabs. I should have followed the last review that was on their page about the crabs, I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt, but I should have went with the person review. Stay away, until they do better with the crabs and customer. I was so disappointed 09/08/2024- we order the all you can eat crabs and we could only get one good crabs out of all the ones we ate. Update: I called and spoke with the manager and he is absolutely the person a last viewer talked about when he said the guy is rude and nasty. He took know ownership of the situation and he is disgusting human being. He actually told me I should not have eaten them.

Some orchid s to cheer up your day'

Always wonderful food and drinks. Service is always as good as your food. Outside seating and dining w a tropical breeze and a street view. Watching local traffic and sometimes a musician playing a guitar and singing along to a song. So relaxing to visit!!

Crabs were fresh and very reasonably priced. Will travel there again. While it was a long drive from SLW, it was well worth it.

Excellent crabs, big & heavy. Outdoor seating is hot in the summer, suggest taking home till the weather cools down.

For our entrees, I had the seafood platter, my bride had the shrimp scampi. Finally for dessert we shared a slice of the caramel cheesecake. THE ATMOSPHERE: The restaurant is on the water with bar seating and white cloth table dining in several rooms. If you're looking for seaside dining Pirates Cove will suite you fine. THE FOOD: Our appetizers... My French onion soup was made like a traditional French onion soup with plenty of melted cheese and oodles of onions. There were plenty of mussels bathed in a delicious white wine and butter base for my brides mussels appetizer. Our entrees... My seafood platter featured a small serving of white fish, which was nice and juicy, two small stuffed shrimp, which were quite tasty, two scallops made properly (not under cooked and slimy or overcooked and rubbery). My brides shrimp scampi featured 5 small shrimp over a bed of linguine. The dish was well made with hints of garlic and butter in the balanced cream sauce. The dessert: Our caramel cheesecake dessert was creamy and rich. THE SERVICE: It's always a challenge for a server to serve large parties, but our server did great. Delivered our drinks in a timely fashion watched over us for any needed refills and clearly explained any questions we had. THE BOTTOM LINE: As always with my reviews, the "customer so what" would I return is complicated for the Pirates Cove. My answer... probably not. Why not if the food was prepared properly, the ambiance was fitting for a seafood restaurant and the service was fine? The answer lies in serving size, price and add on charges. I don't mind paying premium prices for a premium meal but Pirates Cove charged $40 for a seafood platter that should more realistically be called a seafood sampling. At $36 My wife's shrimp scampi should have featured large shrimp instead of the small shrimp she received. And, finally, the add on prices which included a 3% service charge and a whopping 21% tip. I don't mind tipping heavily for good service and our server would have probably gotten 25% if it was my choice. However, I HATE having a restaurant dictate what I'll tip! I understand mandatory tipping for a large party but I've never seen it set at 21%! As for the service charge, it was placed on every bill whether you paid with a credit card or not. One of my guests asked if that was a credit card fee (which I hate as well) and was told if he paid cash, our servers would take that fee off. How many people didn't know enough to ask that question, and end up paying that fee when paying with cash?? I hate underhanded trickery like that and discourage it by not returning. In summary you'll have to ask yourself before dining at Pirates Cove, is the food, ambiance and service quality worth the rest? If it is, enjoy. As for me, I'll skip it. There are too many other great seafood places that will provide quality dining, great service and atmosphere without the unwelcome luggage included.

Now nearly 20 years later, it's still the first restaurant I want to go to when I come back to visit. Nestled along the beautiful Manatee Pocket, nearly every table has a waterfront view to watch the boats going by. The decor "inside" (it's a nearly all outdoor restaurant by the way) is classic Florida; I am always amused by the hurricane water level lines! Even the walk up into the restaurant is a boardwalk ramp (accessibility for the win!) The staff is always friendly there and service is consistent with the speed of getting things in my recollection over the years, even if it's packed. Food wise, Shrimper's has this bread that is just incredible and I can't exactly describe the flavor. I think it's a rosemary and poppy seed bread but I would pay money for their bread recipe. It's that good. I don't think you can get it anywhere else. My typical dinner choice is definitely on the "turf" side, where I like to get the Philly cheesesteak or some kind of pasta dish. This time I went with the pasta primavera, which was new on the menu. I added blackened chicken on top. The veggie quantity was good, and I liked how there was a lot of artichoke, which is more unique for a primavera. Anyhoo, I currently live about 1000 miles away from Shrimpers so I'm not there too often anymore but I always look forward to my next visit!
