Crunchy grouper was really tasty, large portion of fish and fried well so it was still flakey and moist, and our server was very nice although very busy. We had a nice lunch here though was a little pricey. For two sandwiches, some sodas, and two extra sides it was $72 which is a bit more than we'd usually spend for lunch. I think we'll try out more places in the area before trying here again for lunch. Hello fellow yelpers, I was in Stuart this week and decided I would pick up some seafood before I went home. I am so glad I found this gem. Not only did they have great seafood items for purchase, but they are also a restaurant. I had an absolutely delicious lunch. It's been a long time since I had found a place that served whole belly fried clams. They have picnic tables outside or a few inside the store. Well the first thing we can say about Basin Seafood is Wow!! Everything was Amazing, we started with a dozen steamed Ipswich clams so fresh and juicy. We also had a stuffed quahog for starters. We went on Friday night which is fish and chips for $14.95 night. The fish was delicious. Fresh and light. We also ordered a side of full belly fried clams that was incredible. The food is amazing $35 all you can eat blue crab! This was my first time here and eating blue crab I'm from detroit we do not get fresh seafood like this. The waitress was amazing she threw on some gloves to help her girl out and show me how to crack them without destroying my hands, the service was impeccable!! So I like this place, but there are a few things you need to know when you are eating the All You Can Eat Crabs. 1) Gratuity is included, don't add an another tip unless your service was excellent. 2) If you order the jumbo crabs they come with 4 crabs. 3) If you order the medium you get 6-8 at a time. 4) Jumbo crabs are good, but it is cheaper to order from the market directly, especially if you are not going to eat more than four.The service is great. went yesterday had all you can eat blue crab for $40 each plus tip. They were advertised as large but were not. my wife ate 4 and stopped because she said they were too small and too much work. We asked them to bag our leftovers. They said it would cost another $4 per crab to take them. I asked what were they going to do with our crabs? The waiter said "throw them out". (throw them out verses letting your customer take his leftovers???) Really has me wondering whose leftover crabs had I just eaten? read more

I recently visited Basin Seafood based on recommendations on Facebook. Prices were very reasonable and the service and food were excellent. We had lunch and purchased a bag of crabs to take home. The crabs were a good size but for me a little under seasoned. Personal preference and I fully understand they are appealing to a wide audience who may not like lots of spices. We just got off the phone with one of the nastiest "managers" of a business that I have ever experienced - absolutely no effort to address a legitimate concern. Customer service much? NOT AT ALL! We ordered two orders of the all-you-can-eat blue crabs. My God! They were so mushy that the wait staff brought out more in an attempt to get one good tray of crabs. She was apologetic, but said that the manager was not available to address the issue. So, we called while on our way home. Tonight they had an AYCE steamed blue crab special, but we weren't ready for pick in' and ordered off the regular menu. My Grouper Reuben w/ fries was great as was the cod, shrimp and crab cake platter /w fries and coleslaw very good for my companion. Prices are solid for seafood. The hours here on Yelp are wrong. They now close at 7:00 pm. I got there at 10 minutes to 7 thinking I had a good hour to enjoy the place, but they were about to close. I was seated outside and never got to see the interior, but I was fine with that. It's a rustic place, not for romantic dinners. They were out of Fish Dip which I was looking forward to trying. I ordered their combination platter: excellent fresh fish. The Calamari are simply devine, the rest is good. The shrimps are the only thing that I believe had been frozen, but they still tasted excellent. They offered me three sauces: tartar, ketchup, and horseradish. I also got a little cup of coke slaw. Always super fresh and the staff are very kind and knowledgeable. I decided on the sheepshead. They filleted it. I asked about making a fish stock from the remains so they shared how to make it. I looked up a recipe to be more precise and found the results were worth the effort! My husband added it to a shrimp risotto the next night and it was marvelous. The sheepshead smelled like the ocean. It's white, delicate meat was delicious! Such a gem to be right here in town and offering the freshest seafood around, The cute building offers limited inside seating and several outside picnic tables covered from the sun.
