The manager of this location is snarky and rude. Our dinner out was on Veteran's Day celebrating my brother's birthday. We simply ask if they had any specials. The manager ask my husband for his military ID my husband said, I am not active duty. Her response was "well my dad has one and he served 20 years in the Army" My husband had a copy of his DD214. She said they did not give veterans a discount. We said that's fine. Proceeded with dinner. After we ate a waiter took my left overs to the kitchen to box. Brought it back. Another waiter took my sister in laws plate she ask for him to box it. He said okay. It never came back. He came back with the check and said. Oh "my bad" I threw it away. We ask to speak with his manager. When the waiter went to back he was laughing with the manager because it was our table again. Then they said they'd cook another one for her to take home. okay, so we go to pay and they charged us for a filet. None of the 4 of us ordered a filet. $25 overcharge. Finally we get the correct check. The overall experience was horrible. Waiter needed more training. The manager should be fired. She was incredibly rude. Ruined my brother's birthday dinner. We live in Houston and have been to King Ranch many times. Never such a terrible experience. We won't be back. read more

Being a Landry's company restaurant you will see many similarities in some of the menu items and that is a good thing. I have never had a bad experience overall with any of the Landry's restaurants and this place was no exception. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with smiling faces and in our case anyway, a friendly manager. We were quickly seated and we started off with the pretzel breadsticks and the shrimp and crab cocktail, both were excellent choices. The breadsticks were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and not too salty and the cocktail was fresh and delicious. Then came the main course, which for me was a New York Strip topped with chimichurri and mushrooms. The steak was delicious and cooked to perfection and the topping, which was suggested by our waitress, was a perfect addition. The service was second to none and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves here. We also noted that there are two private dining areas as well as one larger one, in case your company needs to have an event. Everything is branded with the world famous King Ranch accessories and is done tastefully. This is definitely a place to stop in and visit if you want some good food with a definite Texas/Mexico inspiration. read more

A steakhouse. Not a fine dining steakhouse. No fine dining standards. It's busy. Has 0 dress code. It's loud! the servers are not fine dining but more so Denny's quality or Applebees. This is good for the fast paced environment, people in Texas seem to love it. Steak is ok but nothing to write grandma about. Peach tea is good. They never offered it before. Walked in to celebrate my husband's birthday and try this place for the first time. We were greeted with the best waitress that not only was an expert with drinks but also recommended certain dishes based on our likes. She didn't steer us wrong and definitely made it a great dining experience, especially first. We started with the GULF SHRIMP & CRAB COCKTAIL and drinks, then husband ordered the NILGAI and I ordered the rita salad with chicken. The husband really enjoyed the unique flavors of the meat topped with CHIMICHURRI & GRILLED MUSHROOMS. I liked to come to the restaurant as it was accessible and a fair value but today my dining experience was completely ruined. I paid my check at the table with the Q code and walked out with my wife and two preteen daughters. Then out cane the manager Telling me the server didn't have my card and was concerned I hadn't paid my check. This was quite embarrassing with other guest around. Honestly if your servers don't know you can pay that way and you fear a dine and dash by a slow walking family of 4- you probably shouldn't offer that as a payment method. I'm a marketing director so my senses are always heightened walking into a new establishment. The location, decor including KR branding, food, and service were spot on! I most liked the branding on the tables and glassware. The staff was knowledgeable of the ranch as well, you can't beat that extra special touch. Like you, I've seen KR's trucks and this seemed like a great brand extension into Houston. Who doesn't love brisket queso and ranch water. Our food came after a 20 minute wait. The food was horrible! Baked chicken and prime rib is horrible cold. The server was not attentive. Expensive, slow, and cold makes for a poor experience. I was so excited to finally try this place. I loved how they had convenient parking and also offered valet for those who preferred it. The service was impeccable. I almost felt like I was at a Michelin star with our waiter, Andrew (I think that was his name), who was very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered everything he suggested. Started off with a glass of the daou wine, shrimp and crab cocktail and a fresh assorted bread basket. For our entrees, we ordered the brisket with the spiced fries and the chicken enchiladas with brussel sprouts. The brisket was so lean and tender, I wish there was more of it. The fries were thicker than my liking and I didn't taste any spices. Brussel sprouts were amazing with a sriracha dressing. The chicken enchilada was okay, not great not bad. What really made the experience was the amazing dessert. They had their German Chocolate cake as a special for the evening and I was so excited to try it. We ordered the cake along with the pineapple cake. I swear it was one of the best desserts I had. The menu is extremely diverse with something for everyone to enjoy. I also loved the laid back but class Texan ambiance. The restaurant hasn't been open for too long (less than 2 weeks) and I think they're learning as they're going but I think they did an amazing job and will continue to improve. I went for lunch today at KRTK. Our waiter was EJ, and he was awesome. I had the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. My son had fried shrimp with fries and coleslaw. We also ordered the brisket queso. We enjoyed everything. The food was well seasoned and the portions were large enough to take some home. I recommend you give this place a try. When we walked in the young lady that was standing at the hostess podium, totally ignored us and tended to the 2 ladies (elderly and white) who walked in after us. We paid it no mind since they were elder and a different young lady sat us at our table (after about 5 minutes). We sat and our waiter came over and took care of us and the food was good. The problem came in after we finished eating the first young lady that ignored us, came to our table and in a very rude and dismissive way grabbed the check that our waiter had place on our table and said "are you ready yet to checkout ". I mean we're all looking at each other like is she serious right now. Nonetheless we said yes and gave her our credit card. That's when she just grabbed it of my hand and left to the back. All of a sudden I get a notification from my credit card company that the bill had been rung up twice. So when our waiter came to bring us the check I let him know what happened. He went to grab the rude young lady and I explained what happened. Her response was "well I only ran it once", that when our waiter told her in front of us that she never told him she ran the credit card so he ran it. At that point all she said was "I'll see what I can do", and then just walked off. Now we waited another 15-20 mins before the actual manager came up to our table to talk to us. Mind you the entire time the rude young lady just keep walking by our table and didn't say a word to us. So when the manger came over I explained everything to her. And as you can imagine she said "there nothing I can do and can't cancel the second charge". Then she proceeded to give me her DM's business card and said just call her on Monday and see if she can help you if the charges go through on your card. I mean what kind of service is that?? All I can say is it's Monday as of the time of this review and still can't get a single manager of any kind to answer my call. Usually you'd get offered free champagne while you wait. To have an overcrowded restaurant during covid is even more of a mistake, because there's more of an excuse to turn away people . The host stated they were full and could not accommodate. I was a bit surprised seeing some many tables available and plenty of seating near the bar. My husband took me to dinner for my birthday. We had "The Plate" it is BBQ for 2. Has the best sausage I have ever eaten, wonderful brisket and fall off the bone ribs. Includes coleslaw, Texas toast, onions, pickle and another side of your choice. The whole dinner was delicious and we had enough leftovers for another meal.
