Went with a group of friends. The drinks are not great to me but hey we was really there for the meat. So for dinner the food for the most part was good our table got the beef ribs omg so good !!! The food is fine; but doesn't justify the price. I got the meat plate. Verdict? The the brisket was dry, The ribs? It tastes just like chili's baby back ribs. Sausage? It's not bad. Good taste though. Cole slaw was pretty good, it had a hint of cayenne pepper which gave it a spicy kick aftertaste. Texas toast was fine. My family had such a great time at King Ranch Texas Kitchen. Food was great! We really loved the Prime Rib Chili! There's something on the menu for everyone. Service was excellent! Our waitress, Princess, was super helpful and quick! The best part, however, actually came after dinner when we were leaving. We came from out of town and were using a rental vehicle. When trying to turn the car on, none of the lights came on. We went back in the restaurant asking around for jumper cables, assuming it was a battery issue. The manager was able to find the sous-chef, who had jumpers in their car. He came out quickly to help us get our car started and get on the road. When offering to pay for his help, he respectfully declined. The staff at this restaurant go above and beyond for their customers. Will definitely come back the next time we visit! read more

Perhaps I'm a bit of a Texas steakhouse snob. In my honest opinion, it seemed like a Salt Grass Steakhouse with an advanced wine list. (I'm not knocking on Salt Grass) that just wasn't the restaurant I was expecting with the King Ranch name associated with it. The food...we ordered the quail appetizer, there was so much batter, that it made it difficult to find the quail. Tasty, but I wouldn't order it again. Next, I had the Main House salad, it's basically the same as Salt Grass. Good, but I expected better. I ordered the grilled salmon with Oscar topping. It came with a side, I chose crispy Brussel sprouts, and the entree comes with fried asparagus. Simple grilled asparagus would have been better, the fried made the dish too heavy. Overall this dish was good, but I would make subs if ordered again. My husband had the ribeye with mashed potatoes. No complaints here... (For the price, I would rather go to Morton's, Capital Grille, Pappas, or even Perry's.) It's worth a try, but manage your expectations and be surprised. Happy eating! read more

I hadn't heard of this place but an old family friend invited us so we went. It's a neat building and they have a good menu. I had the King Ranch Casserole Enchiladas and they were amazing!! My wife had the Nilgai medallions that were pretty good but it was hard to tell it apart from the beef. Service was great at 1pm on a Sunday. Prices were very reasonable too considering the area. Really bad experience and wrote to restaurant in early January 2023 rather than "put it out" on here. Was contacted by manager, BEVERLY DAIGLE, who agreed to send us a gift card for amount spent and invited us back. Said she wanted to meet us, apologize and allow us the grand experience they are known for. Well, we are still waiting on said gift card. I did call in early March 2023, 3 times, no call back. Called one more time, she called back and said gift card would be sent out that day. That was March 20th. Here we are in late April, no gift card. No excuse. Totally disappointed. My wife's steak was undercooked...twice. The waitress or the kitchen got the sides wrong. They have a 6 or 9 oz glass of wine on the menu, but said a 9 oz glass is not an option. My wife surprised me with dinner last night at King Ranch Texas Kitchen and it was excellent! We had reservations, they promptly set us, and Devon our server greeted us to begin the great dinner! The atmosphere in setting was so relaxing, and it was not stuffy at all which my wife liked. She ordered the shrimp Del Mar with a side of fried shrimp and I ordered the rack of ribs with the side of street corn. My wife said every time she comes from this point forward that will be what she orders. It was so amazing and the ribs that I had were so good they literally came right off the bone! Devon gave us great recommendations as well as helped with the dessert menu and we order the pecan pie dessert and I had a cup of coffee, which the coffee was very good by the way! There is no doubt we will be coming back. The only question is when? We already have our next menu items prepared of what we want to order. It's so good! Food was ok, the manger we spoke to about our cold mash potatoes was rude and mean towards us luckily Sam saved the whole experience for us. I would recommend getting Sam as your server if possible. I ordered the Beef Rib which was ok fall off the bone, however it was very underwhelming. Then we ordered the "The Beast" 5lbs of Wagyu Imitation Meat. It comes with Brisket Queso (Again no brisket), Guacamole, Tortillas, basically a "build your own" taco plate for the table. The meat is moist fall off the bone, however it had no flavor whatsoever. I can't describe the disappointment that this restaurant brings is supposed to be a saltgrass on steroids. However, I'd rather go to Saltgrass. The restaurant is like every other laundry's owned restaurant. Average at best and always disappointing if you expect it to be great. We ordered the calamari and it was 25% calamari and the rest was fried filler. If it was $5.95 than it would make sense. The entrees were either dry or over cooked. The management is ok to resolve issues but why are there issues consistently when you go. I have given this restaurant multiple chances and each time you leaving saying why did we choose this place. This is a restaurant where they substitute food quality for profits. If your visiting, stay away as we have lots of great options in Houston. Came here for a networking event for an organization I just joined. They sat our group of 12 on a long table near the entrance, which made it easy to find our party. Our server was Jam, and he was very nice and attentive. He offered suggestions on menu items. I ended up getting the enchilada casserole. It was very cheesy, and difficult to eat. It basically came apart when you cut into it. The bottom layer (corn tortilla?) was very chewy...almost stale tasting. If I come back for another event, I will probably stick to a salad.
