LOVEEEE THIS PLACE! Always go to when at Serramonte Center. Huge portions for the price & service is quick & friendly.

This place is a hidden gem at Serramonte Food court. Out of all the options, I think you get the best bang for your buck here. You pay between $15-$18 to customize your own noodle or rice bowl on the Mongolian grill. There are about 5 different meat options to choose from with many different vegetables. I would recommend stuffing the bowl as much as you can because everything in it gets put on the grill regardless. Because of this, the portion size is generous, capable of feeding two people or having leftovers for one person over the course of 2 days. Once you get your food, there is a sauce station to the side. I think this is VITAL as most of the sauce you select for your bowl will end up being at the bottom of your container. Since all of the options are based on your choices, the flavor will be based on what you pick. I recommend adding the long red peppers to add spice and flavor to the dish. I noticed the difference in taste between the first time and the second time I got a similar combination without it. The line moves pretty quick and the staff are pretty cool about how much you can add to your bowl. If you're getting food from the food court, this place shines bright and doesn't hurt your wallet for what you're getting. I'll choose this place every time hands down.

Reminds me of the Mongolian bbq in SoCal brea mall. This is pretty close but for some reason they don't offer tomatoes as a vegetable ... otherwise it was pretty comparable and pretty good!!

You can add as much as you want and the employees even encouraged me to add more! Towards the end, you select which sauces you want to add and I basically got a scoop of every sauce. Despite that, I still felt like I couldn't taste much of the sauces once everything was cooked. There's also another small sauce bar with chili paste, soy sauce, and teriyaki sauce. They definitely helped with the flavor and I overall did enjoy the meat and all the toppings. Great to share with one other person too!

Great fun! Add your own meats and veggies AS MUCH AS YOU CAN Pick from small or large size bowl. However much you think you'll eat, of course large is better value and share your food with someone. If you're light eaters then two people can eat one together They will add noodles and add lot of sauce and cook it for you. Placed in a to go box in the end Set your expectations for food court fast food, you know? Rated for the value and fun of building it yourself Be prepared to wait because you have to stay in line order. Perhaps 15 mins to be done

BYOB - Build Your Own Bowl! @mongq_serramonte in located inside @serramontecenter where you can create your own Mongolian BBQ with fresh ingredients and meat options! Fun doesn't stop there as workers will help you mix the perfect sauce combo and cook it right in front of you! owner and workers are also very nice! The perfect place to eat after shopping around and walking up an appetite

Solid Mongolian bbq spot. The place was clean, price was reasonable, and i liked that they added the noodles separately at the end (they let you pile the bowl up without noodles) which is nice. Quick service, I'd come back.

Good service and good food with good price. Pack as much as you can and the sauces are pretty great too. Come with noodles! Always a plus.

Food itself tastes alright. But I ended up throwing away 2/3 of the portion due to excessive amount of blackened charred participles that are unhealthy if consumed. The fryer/griller should do their due diligence to monitor how much charred particles have accumulated on the grill and clean it as often as necessary but they definitely did not do that in my case. I felt that time was wasted, food was wasted, money was wasted and more importantly, it's just unhealthy to be eating this amount of blackened stuff. I probably should've thrown everything away.

    $16.99 for large

Okay it's not THAT good as some of the other reviewers are raving about but it's a good option for mall food court choices. To me, this tastes very close to Panda Express or teriyaki chow mein. You have 4 meat options and they're: beef brisket, beef chuck, pork belly, pork loin. They're all shaved very thin and slightly frozen. I would recommend getting the large bowl for $16.99 and the regular is pretty small. Considering that the meat is frozen in round rolls, they take up a lot of space when you try to fill up your bowl. You'll want to make sure you pile your bowl up strategically and definitely fill it up to the max -- trust me, once they throw it on the griddle, all the meat will flatten and seemingly disappear so unless you wanna eat mostly noodles, you'll take my advice. I also added just a little onions, cilantro and mushrooms for flavoring. They will add garlic and all the sauces you need. I can tell they used a lot of msg as seasoning because I was quite thirsty for the entire day afterwards. Service was pretty standard. Wait is fairly quick. Each bowl takes a couple of minutes max to cook. I had a lot of noodles leftover to take home. Give this a try if you're at the mall and need food but I wouldn't go there specifically for an awesome meal.

I love Mongolian bbq and was ecstatic when I saw this gem at the mall! The food was top notch and so flavorful! The ingredients are super fresh and they are generous with their portions. I got a regular but it was enough to feed for two! All the sauces are good and so I get everything cuz I can't decide. With an extra spoonful of garlic and chili since I like my noods with an extra kick! It was delicious and I'll definitely be back!

To be honest,I am a big fan of barbecue. This Mongolian grill is a place where my taste buds can explore the rich flavors of Mongolia. From fresh ingredients to expertly crafted sauces, ensuring every bite is packed with deliciousness. The service was excellent, too. I left the restaurant feeling completely satisfied and can't wait to go back.

The food here was fresh, clean, and absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly and kind. Considering the price, both the food and service were excellent. I'll definitely visit again!!

But my sister had enough faith in him that she put her name down in the waitlist a couple years ago. Apparently, my sister completely forgot her order. lol! This guy have more integrity than kickstarter projects and to keep his promise and to fulfill the orders!!! It's my first time having sweet water noodles. I have never visited Cheng Du in China (it's on my bucket list) so I cannot tell how authentic this really is. As a noodle dish, I really love it. I would buy the sauce itself and toss with any other noodles. (Business opportunity there!) The instruction to cook the noodles is super clear and it's a very simple and easy dish to make. If you can boil water in a pot, you can make the noodles based on the instruction with this noodles kit. The rice crispy gave an excellent crunch. (Now I can see why Paik Jong Won added the uncooked instant noodles crumbs from the package to a bowl of instant noodles). The noodles texture is lovely, it has a chewy (or the Taiwanese/Chinese known as "QQ") bite to it. The portion is quite generous too - it's one of those satisfying portions :) I don't think I want to wait for 2 years for this again. But when he opens the store or start selling the sauce, I will be there for sure!!

I have been to Kajiken twice now, and it has been absolutely delicious each time. It is located in downtown San Mateo, so it does not have its own dedicated parking lot. If you come on the weekend, it can be harder to find parking, and the likelihood of a wait is high. When it gets busy, there is a section outside for you to line up. The servers typically come out to the folks closest to the front of the line and hand them menus so they can decide what they want before being seated. When it is not as busy, you can walk in directly and request a table. The shop itself actually has a lot of seating, but there is always an influx of people, so it fills up quickly. The interior gives off a nice modern Japanese chic vibe. :) They also offer outdoor patio seating, which is great if you are trying to enjoy a nice day outside. I have tried both their Wagyu Roast Beef Aburasoba and their Soboro Aburasoba. The roast beef is tender and adds a nice chew against the silky noodles, while the soboro chicken is juicy and coats your mouth with a savory soy flavor. Additionally, I've had their karaage on both occasions I visited, and it was succulent! I love how the juice from the chicken balances with the generous amount of grated ginger and green onion. This place is definitely worth a try! If you can go on a weekday before the dinner rush from people getting off their 9-5 jobs, that would probably be the optimal time frame. I came here on a Wednesday around 6:15 PM, and it was not too bad until around 7 PM when it started getting busy.

The popcorn chicken had a crispy exterior, but didn't have much additional flavor even with the spicy powder coating the chicken. The dumplings were average and the pig ears were a bit disappointing. The pig ear texture threw us off compared to other pig ear we had, where this one was purely crunchy instead of a more jelly-like texture. This beef noodle soup is more like the Chinese variety, so heavier on the spice and chili oil compared to Taiwanese ones. I still very much enjoyed the flavor and depth of this soup with the spice.
