PHO KING AWESOME... get the #100 combo bowl! The pho here is money, I love this place. For any pho novice or pho enthusiast, this place will crush expectations. The broth is perfect, not too sweet. The beef portions are ample, and the textures are right. The tendons are tender, the meat is not dry. The noodles are slightly al dente but break apart real quick as you do the initial plunge, I like to play the game of just the tip dipping in my spoon of sriracha little by little and this alone was enough to break apart my noodles. The atmosphere is on point, feels like a typical Viet joint I am accustomed too, and there are a ton of actual Viet/Cambodian locals that dine here, aka they know whats up! The location is decently convenient if you're in the area. Saraga is closeby if you're shopping for some international groceries. The Pony is not far away if you're shopping for some lap dances. The location is pretty close off the highway if you're coming from downtown. I am taking 1 star off because there is no number in the name & there are no bottles of bleach in the bathroom, Ali Wong nailed it! Just kidding, minus one star because my hands got sticky touching the table & sriracha, and it was really annoying throughout my meal because I was too lazy to go wash my hands. This is my favorite vietnamese in the city of Indianapolis in which I feel has a fair number of solid vietnamese restaurants. I say this for a few reasons. 1. Price. The food is cheap and portions are good. The entrees are all mostly around 8 to 10 dollars a piece and the appetizers around 3 to 5 bucks. This price point makes it very affordable to order multiple appetizers and entrees to eat family style with others (or even self if you eat like me). 2. Quality. The food is delicious. I particularly like the bun (pronounced boon) dishes which are fresh rice noodles with fresh cucumber beansprout and lettuce topped with various items to your liking. My favorite is bun thit noung which has marinated grilled beef and pork with fried spring rolls. The sauce is a sweet chili fish sauce to give additional flavor. Other items are stellar too. I like the spicy egg noodle soup with wontons and bbq pork. The pho is good, though I tend to order other items. Also, the fried spring rolls with taro are an absolute must. Granted there are some items I suggest against such as the americanized chinese options (this is a vietnamese restaurant after all). 3. The staff overall does a great job. I am always impressed with the wait staff. They are kind and knowledgeable about the cuisine. The food is made to order so at times can cause a longer wait for food if restaurant is crowded so do suggest appetizers. Also the place is clean and has televisions playing sports so dont feel guilty when going out to eat there when pacers are in action ;) read more

The service is pretty slow like usually a 20 min wait + a wait when you get there to pick it up. When my husband went to pick up the food one day the lady working the front kept saying "take out or to go" and then placing an order instead of realizing you were there to pick up your order. My husband witnessed people leaving just because they didn't understand. The noodles are good and the crab ragoons were huge but personally I've had better Chinese food and won't be back. read more

If there was only one reason to miss living on the West side it is King Wok. Yes, I am a Pho junkie. I am a true believer that whatever they put in the #105 will cure what ails ya. Also do yourself a favor and get the #10. So. Good. When we lived closer to this location we seriously ordered take out from here *at least* once a week -- to the point we would call and they knew me, my husband, and our order by our voices. Even after a year of living far away, I called and got "my usual" just by voice. Man, I miss these folks. Kinda sad now that I read that back. Oh well. Since moving to the Northeast side, we have *tried* to find a good place for Pho... but no one even comes close to King Wok. I know I have set foot in an authentic Asian place when I see it is located in an multi-ethnic strip mall (African store and also Indian store); plus the décor is at best 80s' flash to 90's chic. I was even more excited to see a menu with items I do not recognize. I had to ask the server what is the "pork giblets" on the menu. Giblets only apply to poultry? Despite the server's hesitation at my request, I ordered it. It turned out to be a cold salad of various poached "pork", onion and Vietnamese coriander with a very refreshingly tangy, sweet dressing. I dont want to scare anyone off by describing what I could identify in the mix. But if you are interested so far, you are already bookmarking this place. It always begins with a "Where should I eat" question. Home? Hardly. Someplace new? Sure. Okay; what sounds good? Pho. How about King Wok? Score! I've never been, but overheard some friends talking about it on Tuesday. One of them claimed that King Wok's pho broth was the best in town. That means I've got to check it out. Arriving around 7pm on a Friday evening, the place only had three or four groups dining, so the service was super fast. I went vegetarian for the night and ordered the spring rolls and vegetable and tofu pho for dinner. Spring rolls: instead of a peanut sauce you get it most Vietnamese places, I got a soy-based sauce that was salty, but very tasty. It complimented the vegetables in the spring roll perfectly. Mushrooms and carrots inside the roll was a nice touch too. The pho: I found myself adding more and more siricha to it as I ate. When I was done, I realized how hot and sweaty my face was; a sign that it was good! I can now confirm my friends comment about the broth, and agree completely. King Wok put a massive amount of vegetables in their pho, something others sometimes skimp on (or just plain don't add.) Service: Super fast. Before I sat down, the server was there to get my drink order. The table next to me left as I was elbows up into a bowl of pho, and within seconds they were there to bus the table. Having a clean place goes a long way with me, and they earned points by keeping things neat and tidy. My personal quest continues for the best pho in town, but King Wok definitely makes the short list. read more

Due to the pandemic, we opted for carry-out. My wife ordered (#7) Vietnamese Deep Fried Egg-Rolls and (#79) Stir-Fried Rice Noodles w Shrimp, Beef, Chicken, and Veggies. I ordered (#10) Vietnamese Summer Rolls and (#60) Beef & Mushroom w/ Fried Rice. The lady at the register was friendly and well prepared. Everything was ready when I arrived (10 minutes). I'm always on the hunt for a good pho place and King Wok doesn't disappoint. They specialize in Vietnamese and Chinese cuisine and I can say that their Vietnamese dishes are authentic and delicious. I got the pho tai which comes with thin slices of beef and flank while my fiancé got the pho ga which is a chicken based pho broth with chicken. He asked for it to me really spicy and they added some spicy paste that he really enjoyed. Our food came out within 7 minutes. After we added some thai basil and bean sprouts, we chewed down. Our broth was super flavorful and we loved it. Pho is food you eat for when you want your belly to be full, warm, and happy. Service was great as were the prices! Our meal came out to under $20 as each bowl was around $9. I've been here another time with vegetarians and they had plenty of options for them so don't worry! The lunch special is only $5.50 (before tax and tip) and includes a variety of options. You also get an egg roll, your choice of Egg Drop or Hot & Sour Soup, and your choice of steamed or fried rice with the lunch sized entree. On my visit, I opted for the Pepper Steak (bite sized chunks of Green Bell Pepper and slices of onion) entree, the Egg Drop, and the fried rice. The Egg Drop soup was delicious! Just a bit of thickening and a little green onion for extra flavor made this one of my favorite takes on the soup. The rest of the lunch came before I finished my soup. The portions may be a little smaller than at some other Asian restaurants, but the price was also smaller and included the sides. The beef and veggies were tender with maybe a bit more veggies than beef, but if this isn't for you, there is always the regular menu to select from. The only negative I had was the fried rice had a slightly spongy texture, but it did not affect the flavor. The service was friendly, prompt, and communicated clearly. When I entered, I approached the counter and was shown to a table. A menu was brought out and my order taken. In fact, everything seemed to be full-service from the wait staff with the exception of payment. When I finished, I simply went to the counter (without having received my bill) and checked out then. I am not sure if they ever bring out your bill to your table. I simply followed the lead of the other patrons. King Wok, the Vietnamese food of my eye~ I maintain that King Wok is one of (if not THE) best Vietnamese restaurant in Indy and their regularly filled dinning room helps confirm this for me. Every item is flavorful, rich, and well proportioned. I've been able to find items on their menu I have only previously encountered during my in Vietnam and they have lost nothing but the humidity when served at King Wok. My ultimate suggestion list: Start with and share a #41 Banh Xeo (Pan-fried rice flour crepe with shrimp, pork, onion, and bean sprouts), #78 Mi Xao Don (crispy-fried egg noodles smothered in shrimp, chicken, beef, and veggies), either #83 Bun Bi Cha Gao (vermicelli with shredded pork and hot egg rolls) or #105 Pho Ga (classic chicken pho) or pick a few specialties and family sized entrees to try and share among friends! read more
