    Tofu Kimbap
    Andrew A.

Cute spot with very reasonable prices. Came in for a quick snack for me and a few friends. One was a vegetarian so I got the seared tofu kimbap and it was delicious and pretty cheap for the amount of food! And my order came out quickly. I will definitely be back to try more.

If I lived in the area I would be here all the time! More than fair price because they give big portions. Let's show this place more love San Francisco!

ordered kingbob for pick-up on 5/11/26, the bulgogi kimbap had something bitter in it unfortunately. i also tried the black bean rice cake with fish cake which was great. the kimchi cheese fried rice was standard. i would still try this spot again for the loaded kimbap, but the bitter taste was a bit weird! hopefully it was an off day.

Kingbob is a great spot for a quick Korean Food fix in the area. A nice variety of dishes available with the Gimbap being one of the most popular items. Food comes out quick and service is friendly from the staff. I ordered: Spicy Pork & Bulgogi Gimbap: solid choice and large sized rolls. Nice combination of textures and flavor. Mandu: this item was ok. Nice bite sized dumpling with a tasty sauce. Decent choice for Korean Food.

As a Korean guy who's enjoyed food everywhere from Seoul to LA Koreatown and managed a high-end Korean restaurant, this place is fantastic. The kimbap (KingBob) is really well made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. It came out with a small side of fishcake broth, which really completed the meal--no need to order it separately. My girlfriend especially loved the sauce it came with, and for the price, it's unbeatable. The yubu chobap (chobob) was well balanced, with a great protein-to-rice ratio. It was also a fun way to sample all the protein options, and we both agreed the crammy was the standout. The spicy glazed mandu were solid restaurant fare--fried, crispy, and nicely sauced. Priced well, it's a great add-on when you're in the mood. Overall, the place is clean, well maintained, and the food hits exactly the quality and standard needed to be a staple in my rotation. Service is quick and no frills. It delivers a classic Korean meal with just the right touch of warmth that you get from the soup to wash everything down.

Easy spot to get lunch at! I come here every once in a while for some kimbaps but recently visited to try more of their menu (KFC gangnam, jaeyook deopbab, forgot to take pic of the tonkatsu dosirak) for my brother's birthday. We both loved it and can't wait to explore more of the menu!

I got the bulgogi kimpap for 11 dollars which wasnt a bad price. The lady was really sweet when i asked for no cucumber or carrots. The bulgogi was sweet and really flavorful and it was really filling. I really liked the sou garlic ricecakes and would get them again. They were only five bucks. There are plenty of tables and they give you a side of free soup. They also bring the food to you which is really nice of them.

There are a few good vegan options on the menu, so I came in to order take out. I got the Yubu Kimbap and Haecho salad, and enjoyed them both. My meal was made with fresh ingredients, I just would've liked more tofu in my roll. But I still found it tasty and filling. The cashier was very friendly and brought my order out as soon as it was ready. The restaurant was simple and very clean inside.

ordered for pickup and the order was ready within 10 minutes! the yangnyeom korean fried chicken's ($11.50) sweet spicy sauce was good but unfortunately the chicken was really dry and hard :( the classic gimbap ($8.75) was normal (pretty much what you would expect). the spam kimchi fried rice ($17.95) was kind of pricey for kimchi fried rice and tasted average, but it was a pretty big portion. overall it was a filling meal with a lot of variety on the menu, so I would be open to trying the other dishes

We enjoyed the ambiance and late hours, perfect to catch up with friends. The owner greeted at friendly. There is a nice selection of foods. Flavor was OK.

Decent kimbap place on the border of downtown and chinatown. Spicy pork kimbap - 3.5/5, one quadrant packed with spicy pork, the rest with typical kimbap veggies. The spicy pork had a slight kick and decent flavor. Not bad for downtown. I might come back to try another kimbap

Once you step through the doors, however, you're greeted by a space that feels both cozy and contemporary, with an effortlessly stylish atmosphere. Even the restroom was thoughtfully designed and remarkably comfortable--a small detail, but one that speaks to the restaurant's overall attention to detail. We began with the Uni Scallop Toast and Mulhwe as appetizers. As someone who is typically not a fan of uni due to its pronounced brininess, I was genuinely surprised by how much I enjoyed the toast. The bright citrus sauce balanced the richness of the uni beautifully, while the contrasting textures from the crisp toast and delicate scallop created a harmonious bite. The scallop also helped mellow the stronger oceanic notes of the uni. It was a creative and memorable dish unlike anything I've had before. The Mulhwe, a Korean-style fish salad, was dressed in a refreshing apple vinaigrette that gave it a light, summery citrus character. The fish itself had a pleasantly chewy texture--firmer than salmon--with no trace of fishiness. While enjoyable, it didn't leave quite the same impression as the uni toast and was my least favorite dish of the evening. For our entrées, we ordered the Galbi Steak and Pork Jowl Bossam. Both dishes showcased exceptional execution. The meats were cooked perfectly, but what stood out even more was the precision in preparation. The steak was expertly sliced and incredibly tender--so much so that even with braces, it was effortless to enjoy. The pork jowl achieved an ideal balance between lean meat and luscious fat, creating a rich yet satisfying bite. We enjoyed the meal so much that dessert was non-negotiable. The Matcha Tiramisu was a creative interpretation of the classic. A dome of mascarpone cheese encased ladyfinger biscuits at its center, accompanied by a vibrant matcha ganache sauce. The dessert leaned far less sweet than traditional tiramisu, allowing the earthy matcha and creamy mascarpone flavors to shine. It was elegant, balanced, and a wonderful way to end the meal. Lastly, the service was outstanding. Our server was soft-spoken, patient, and genuinely attentive throughout the evening, making the experience feel warm and welcoming. Considering the quality of the food, thoughtful presentation, ambiance, and service, I found the pricing to be completely justified. As a pleasant surprise, I later learned that Bansang is part of the same restaurant group behind Daeho--a detail that certainly explains the level of quality we experienced.

The toast, scallops, and uni were all served at the same temperature, and the sauce was barely noticeable, adding little to the dish. A contrast in temperature, texture, or a more pronounced sauce would have made it much more enjoyable. The Scallop & Shrimp Salad was overly sweet, which overpowered the delicate flavors of the seafood. The Chicken Wings were decent, but at 4 wings for $18, they felt overpriced. The Mushroom Silk Tofu was beautifully presented and visually appealing. The Black Cod was cooked perfectly--moist, tender, and flaky. However, while the fish itself was excellent, the sauce was forgettable and didn't leave a lasting impression or elevate the dish. Overall, the food was mediocre. While each dish had potential, the flavors often felt disconnected and lacked harmony. Combined with the expensive price point, the overall dining experience didn't justify the cost. The ambiance is lovely, but I left hoping for a more memorable meal. Wouldn't come back.

Granted we were a bit late for our reservation, we ended up having to wait another 30-40 mins. The place (2nd floor) is small & awkward. You can also feel whenever the table next to us got up and stomped/yelled/moved in their chairs-- which was really often. The basic AYCE menu is fairly limited-- esp for the side options. The marinated meats were pretty good as was the tteokbokki. Side & meat portions were alright, but the kicker is having to flag down staff to make sure they put in the order & bring it out. We asked for japchae about 5 times before it actually reached our table towards the end of our meal. The server/manager also told us that he had accidentally brought out 2 bottles of soju for us and that he'd COMP 1 bottle. We didnt notice that he had actually charged us for 2 and comped/subtracted a "third" one. So none were really comped at all. I just realized after we paid and that felt really sketchy.
